  • Patent number: 11403434
Abstract: A method and system for computer aided design (CAD) is disclosed for designing geometric objects, wherein interpolation and/or blending between such objects is performed while deformation data is being input. Thus, a designer obtains immediate feedback to input modifications without separately entering a command(s) for performing such deformations. A novel N-sided surface generation technique is also disclosed herein to efficiently and accurately convert surfaces of high polynomial degree into a collection of lower degree surfaces. E.g., the N-sided surface generation technique disclosed herein subdivides parameter space objects (e.g., polygons) of seven or more sides into a collection of subpolygons, wherein each subpolygon has a reduced number of sides. More particularly, each subpolygon has 3 or 4 sides. The present disclosure is particularly useful for designing the shape of surfaces. Thus, the present disclosure is applicable to various design domains such as the design of, e.g.

  • Patent number: 11402848
Abstract: A collision-avoidance system for use with an autonomous-capable vehicle can continuously receive image frames captured of the roadway to determine drivable space in a forward direction of the vehicle. The system can determine, for each image frame, whether individual regions of the image frame depict drivable space. The system can do so using machine-learned image recognition algorithms such as convolutional neural networks generated using extensive training data. Using such techniques, the system can label regions of the image frames as corresponding to drivable space or non-drivable space. By analyzing the labeled image frames, the system can determine whether the vehicle is likely to impact a region of non-drivable space. And, in response to such a determination, the system can generate control signals that override other control systems or human operator input to control the brakes, the steering, or other sub-systems of the vehicle to avoid the collision.

  • Patent number: 11403224
Abstract: A method and system for managing a buffer device in a storage system. The method comprising determining a first priority for a first queue included in the buffer device, the first queue comprising at least one data page associated with a first storage device in the storage system; in at least one round, in response to the first priority not satisfying a first predetermined condition, updating the first priority according to a first updating rule, the first updating rule making the updated first priority much closer to the first predetermined condition than the first priority; and in response to the first priority satisfying the first predetermined condition, flushing data in a data page in the first queue to the first storage device.

  • Patent number: 11405933
Abstract: A communication management resource receives channel selection information from any number of licensed entities to operate in a shared band. Assume that the communication management resource receives first channel selection information indicating channels of interest (or band partitions, bandwidth, bandwidth partitions, sub-band portions, sub-band segments, etc., of an available wireless spectrum or band) to a first entity licensed to wirelessly communicate in a wireless network. Further, the communication management resource receives second channel selection information indicating channels of interest to a second entity licensed to wirelessly communicate in the wireless network. Based on the first channel selection information and the second channel selection information, the communication management resource allocates wireless channels amongst the first entity and the second entity.

  • Patent number: 11405869
Abstract: Disclosed examples offer ways to manage dialogues between radio frequency-enabled devices and conserve energy of the devices. A system includes a plurality of radio frequency-enabled nodes networked to communicate with a radio frequency-enabled device. The radio frequency-enabled device includes a radio frequency transceiver and a processing device. The processing device is configured to, in response to expiration of a time period or an occurrence of an event, transition the radio frequency-enable device from a standby mode to a transmit mode. In the transmit mode, a start dialogue message is broadcast. After a pause of a predetermined length following the transmission of the start dialogue message, the radio frequency-enabled device transitions to a receive mode to receive a data packet transmitted from one or more of the radio frequency-enabled nodes. Upon completion of receiving the data packet, the radio frequency-enabled device transitions from the receive mode to the standby mode.
