Abstract: The present technique relates to a data processing apparatus and a data processing method each of which enables a burden imposed on processing on a reception side to be reduced. A data processing apparatus produces signaling containing a Null cell number exhibiting the number of Null cells of cells of a sub-frame included in a physical layer frame, and processes the signaling so as for the signaling to be contained in a preamble of the physical layer frame, thereby enabling a burden imposed on processing on a reception side to be reduced. The present technique, for example, can be applied to data transmission complying with the broadcasting standards such as ATSC3.0.

Abstract: A processor may identify a recurring event within account data including a plurality of events associated with an account. The processor may determine that the recurring event did not occur at an expected date. The processor may predict a time from the expected date to an expected triggered event that is triggered by the recurring event not occurring at the expected date. The predicting may include determining a class of the recurring event from a plurality of classes and selecting, as the time from the expected date to the expected triggered event, an approximate elapsed time after which a party to the expected triggered event is known to have previously initiated triggered events for the determined class. Before the time from the expected date to the expected triggered event elapses, the processor may cause a server that manages the account to make an automatic modification to an account setting.

Abstract: This invention is directed to a filter removal tool comprising: a cup configured to engage with a filter so that rotating the cup rotates the filter; an opening in a shaft or cup and extending through the cup so that when a puncture cap that can be received into the cup punctures the filter, fluid flows from the filter out of the cup. The shaft can transition from a first position to a second position wherein the puncture cap can puncture the filter in the second position. A wrench or other tool can be used to remove the filter using the cup. The cup can be secured to the filter with a magnet or collet assembly. A tube can be connected to the cup to direct fluid that exits the filter. An impact member can be used to force the puncture cap into the filter.

The heater is configured to heat the aerosol-forming substrate to generate an aerosol. The heater includes a first end section, an intermediate section, and a second end section. The heater extends through the base portion such that the intermediate section is in the chamber, while the first end section and the second end section are external segments.
Abstract: A sound reduction assembly includes a housing and a component supported via the housing. The component is movable relative to the housing. The sound reduction assembly includes a ring coupled to the component and the housing. The ring is configured to attenuate sound inducing vibrations in response to operation of the component. The ring includes a flange fixed relative to the housing to maintain a position of the ring relative to the component which maximizes attenuation of the sound in response to operation of the component. A method of utilizing a ring to attenuate sound inducing vibrations in response to operation of a component inside of a housing. A torque is selected to be applied to the ring. A stiffness of the ring is determined based on a stiffness-torque curve utilizing the selected torque to maximize attenuation of the sound. The ring is manufactured to meet the determined stiffness.

Abstract: This document describes techniques and devices for handling an attempt to resume a wireless connection using a base station that supports a different core-network type. While in a current resource control state, such as an inactive state 332, a user equipment (UE) 111 or 112 selects a base station 124 with a different core-network type than a previously selected base station 122 or 121. In some cases, this selected base station 124 does not support the current resource control state or does not enable the UE 111 or 112 to transition to a different resource control state, such as a connected state 330. Consequently, if the UE 111 or 112 attempts to perform a procedure that would result in the UE 111 or 112 transitioning to the unsupported resource control state, the procedure may fail and consequently waste network resources or delay communications with the UE 111 or 112.

Abstract: A method for pre-utilizing tables before refresh includes selecting a query for execution in a data analytics application and identifying a table specified by the query, for instance a materialized table. Another operation includes computing an encoding, such as a hash value, for at least one portion of the identified table. Another operation includes comparing the computed encoding to a pre-stored encoding for the at least one portion of the identified table. On the condition that the computed encoding is identical to the pre-stored encoding, the operations include utilizing the identified table in executing the query in lieu of re-materializing the identified table. Otherwise, on the condition that the computed encoding differs from the pre-stored encoding, the operations include re-materializing the identified table before returning the results of the query.
