Abstract: A switchable privacy display comprises a spatial light modulator (SLM), a first switchable liquid crystal (LC) retarder and first passive retarder between a first pair of polarisers and a second switchable LC retarder and second passive retarder between a second pair of polarisers. The first switchable LC retarder comprises a homeotropic alignment layer and a homogeneous alignment layer. The second switchable LC crystal retarder comprises two homeotropic alignment layers or two homogeneous alignment layers. In landscape or portrait privacy mode, on-axis light from the SLM is directed without loss, whereas off-axis light has reduced luminance to reduce visibility to off-axis snoopers. Display reflectivity may be reduced for on-axis reflections of ambient light, while reflectivity may be increased for off-axis light to achieve increased visual security. In public mode, the LC retardance is adjusted so that off-axis luminance and reflectivity are unmodified.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for controlling a fuel delivery system to limit acidic corrosion. An exemplary control system includes a controller, at least one monitor, an output, and a remediation system. The output of the control system may automatically warn an operator of the fueling station of the corrosive environment so that the operator can take preventative or corrective action. Abstract: A wireless device monitors a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) of an active bandwidth part (BWP) during a discontinuous reception (DRX) active time. A switch is made to a first downlink BWP as the active BWP during the DRX active time. In response to the switching, a first PDCCH of the first downlink BWP is monitored and a BWP inactivity timer is started. A packet is transmitted via a transmission interval of periodic resources indicated by a configured grant. The BWP inactivity timer is restarted at a time based on the transmission interval. In response to an expiration of the BWP inactivity timer, a switch is made to a second downlink BWP as the active BWP during the DRX active time, and a second PDCCH is monitored.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methods for predicting time-to-delivery in pregnant women. Also provided are methods for determining a patient's risk of preterm labor and/or spontaneous rupture of the chorioamniotic membrane.

Abstract: A data processing system includes a host system and one or more expansion devices coupled to the host system over a bus. The host system may include one or more processors and a memory storing instructions, which when executed, cause the processors to perform autonomous driving operations to drive an autonomous driving vehicle (ADV). Each expansion device includes a switch device and one or more processing modules coupled to the switch device. Each processing module can be configured to perform at least one of the autonomous driving operations offloaded from the host system. At least one of the processing modules can be configured as a client node to perform an action in response to an instruction received from the host system. Alternatively, it can be configured as a host node to distribute a task to another client node within the expansion device. This host node in the expansion device can further cooperate with the host system via a host-to-host connection.

Abstract: A private network includes a plurality of network security appliances participating in authenticating end users. Each network security appliance maintains a locally stored user list. A first network security appliance receives at least a portion of a non-local user list comprising second user identifier records for a second network security appliance of the plurality of network security appliances. The first network security appliance compares the local user list with the non-local user list received from the second network security appliance to identify one or more deviations. Abstract: Roofing shingles are disclosed that are capable of self-adhering to a roof deck or underlayment and/or other roofing shingles and that require few or no mechanical fasteners to remain attached to the roof. By appropriate positioning of sealant lines on the shingle, direct adhesion between the shingle and the roof deck or underlayment and/or other roofing shingles can be achieved. If the shingle is laminated, the layers may be mechanically attached with indentations in the common bond area. The nail zone of the shingle may be visually indicated with fines and/or one or more paint lines. A roofing system comprising a plurality of courses of the shingles is also disclosed.
