Abstract: Stockbridge dampers are provided. A Stockbridge damper includes a first clamp, and a second clamp spaced along a longitudinal axis from the first clamp, wherein a distance is defined along the longitudinal axis between the first clamp and the second clamp. A Stockbridge damper further includes a wire strand extending generally along the longitudinal axis through and between the first clamp and the second clamp, the wire strand including a first end portion extending from a distal side of the first clamp, a second end portion extending from a distal side of the second clamp, and an intermediate portion extending between proximal sides of the first and second clamps. A Stockbridge damper further includes a first weight connected to the first end portion of the wire strand, and a second weight connected to the second end portion of the wire strand.

Abstract: A computer system receives a request to locate a vehicle within a facility. The computer system parses the request to identify one or more characteristics of the vehicle. The computer system identifies a sensor corresponding to the vehicle based on the one or more characteristics of the vehicle. The computer system identifies a most recent location of the vehicle based on the last registered position of the vehicle within the facility. The computer system transmits a signal to a parking spot sensor at the most recent location of the vehicle in the facility. The computer system receives the unique identification. The computer system determines that the unique identification of the vehicle sensor co-located with the parking spot sensor matches the sensor of the requested vehicle. The computer system reports to the user a current location of the vehicle within the facility based on a location of the parking spot sensor.

Abstract: A first semiconductor substrate contains a first semiconductor material, such as silicon. A second semiconductor substrate containing a second semiconductor material, such as gallium nitride or aluminum gallium nitride, is formed on the first semiconductor substrate. The first semiconductor substrate and second semiconductor substrate are singulated to provide a semiconductor die including a portion of the second semiconductor material supported by a portion of the first semiconductor material. The semiconductor die is disposed over a die attach area of an interconnect structure. The interconnect structure has a conductive layer and optional active region. An underfill material is deposited between the semiconductor die and die attach area of the interconnect structure. The first semiconductor material is removed from the semiconductor die and the interconnect structure is singulated to separate the semiconductor die. The first semiconductor material can be removed post interconnect structure singulation.

In an embodiment, an application of a client device may transmit communications to a service application API that are in a format not accepted by the service application API, using the application API. A central (or public) API may receive the communication transmitted by the application's API. The central API may identify the versions of the application's API and the service application API. Abstract: Disclosed herein are techniques for bonding components of LEDs. According to certain embodiments, a device includes a first component having a semiconductor layer stack including an n-side semiconductor layer, an active light emitting layer, and a p-side semiconductor layer. A plurality of mesa shapes are formed within the n-side semiconductor layer, the active light emitting layer, and the p-side semiconductor layer. The semiconductor layer stack comprises a III-V semiconductor material. The device also includes a second component having a passive or an active matrix integrated circuit within a Si layer. A first dielectric material of the first component is bonded to a second dielectric material of the second component, first contacts of the first component are aligned with and bonded to second contacts of the second component, and a run-out between the first contacts and the second contacts is less than 200 nm.

The link layer may form at least a portion of a channel including intrinsic or doped silicon.
Abstract: Provided are methods and systems to verify user identity for voice enabled devices. A voice input can instruct a voice enabled device to perform a plurality of functions/services that, depending on the function/service, may require additional user verification. Primary user verification can be performed by associating voice characteristics of the voice input to a profile associated with a user/user device. A signal (e.g., a BLE beacon) can be sent to the user device that causes the user device to perform secondary user verification. The secondary user verification can be based on a biometric input, passcode verification, authenticated message reply, for example. Based on the secondary user verification, an operational command associated with the voice input can be executed.
Abstract: Light-emitting devices and methods of making the same are described whereby lenses of any array include a material with a higher refractive index than an encapsulation layer of a substrate layer, the refractive index of the material being in a range of greater than 1.7 to 1.9 at 400 nm. The material forming the lenses includes nanocomposite comprised of inorganic nanocrystals and a polymeric matrix, wherein the nanocrystals are selected from the group consisting of ZrO2, ZnO, MgO, HfO2, NbO5, Ta2O5 and Y2O3. A 3-4 micron thick sample of the nanocomposite has an optical transmittance of at least 80% over a range of 440 nm to 800 nm.

A control circuit of the display device controls a first subset of pixels in the gaze region to operate with a first duty cycle and controls a second subset of pixels in the non-gaze region to operate with a second duty cycle greater than the first duty cycle. The first subset of pixels emits light with greater brightness than the second subset of pixels.
