Abstract: A brake rotor for a braking system of a motor vehicle is provided. The brake rotor includes a disc section for rotating about a longitudinal axis and engaging a brake pad assembly. The brake rotor further includes a hat section for attaching to a wheel. The hat section has a stepped surface spaced from the disc section along the longitudinal axis, and the stepped surface defines a recess for spacing the wheel and a portion of the stepped surface from one another when the wheel is attached to the hat section.

Abstract: There is a region of interest of a synthetic image depicting an object from a class of objects. A trained neural image generator, having been trained to map embeddings from a latent space to photorealistic images of objects in the class, is accessed. A first embedding is computed from the latent space, the first embedding corresponding to an image which is similar to the region of interest while maintaining photorealistic appearance. A second embedding is computed from the latent space, the second embedding corresponding to an image which matches the synthetic image. Blending of the first embedding and the second embedding is done to form a blended embedding. At least one output image is generated from the blended embedding, the output image being more photorealistic than the synthetic image.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for inducing vehicle side slip. In one example, a method includes opening a sole driveline disconnect clutch positioned between an engine and an electric machine upstream of a transmission, and closing the sole driveline disconnect clutch within a predetermined amount of time after opening the sole driveline disconnect without shifting gears of the transmission. In this way, vehicle drift may be reliable initiated in a hybrid electric vehicle with an automatic transmission, without shifting gears of the transmission.

Abstract: Methods, systems and apparatus for identifying illegitimate selections of content items. In some implementations, one or more servers can receive display data specifying a display state of a web page in a viewport. The web page includes a content item. Display instances are identified. A display instance is a display of at least a portion of the content item in the viewport. Selection instances of the content item are identified. A selection instance is a selection of the content item. The server(s) determines whether a selection of the content item occurred during a display of at least a portion of the content item in the viewport based on the display instances and the selection instances. A selection of the content is defined as an illegitimate selection if the selection did not occur during a display of at least a portion of the content item in the viewport.
Abstract: Apparatus and methods are described to program memory cells and verify stored values programmed into the cells. The next stage in stored memory can be moved to the current verification iteration when certain conditions are met. Verification can include counting bits that exceed a voltage value for a stage being verified to produce a bit count number and determining if the bit count number for the stage being verified meets a threshold value. If the bit count number does not meet the threshold, the verification process can continue with a current verify iteration and thereafter move to a next verify iteration. If the bit count number does meet the threshold, the process can add a next stage to the current verify iteration and thereafter move to a next verify iteration.
Abstract: A LORAN device may include a LORAN antenna, a LORAN receiver, an RF signal path extending between the LORAN antenna and the LORAN receiver and being subject to ambient RF interference, and an ambient RF interference canceller coupled in the RF signal path. The ambient RF interference canceller may include an ambient RF interference sensor configured to generate an estimated ambient RF interference signal based on the sensed ambient RF interference, and cancellation circuitry configured to cooperate with the ambient RF interference sensor to generate an ambient RF interference cancellation signal based upon the sensed ambient RF interference signal, and add the ambient RF interference cancellation signal to the RF signal path.

Abstract: Devices, computer-readable media, and methods for pre-loading video chunks of a video program at an edge server are disclosed. For example, a processor may receive a manifest file for a video program, determine a bitrate for a first segment of the video program, request a video chunk of the first segment at the first bitrate from an edge server in accordance with the manifest file, and request a subset of a video chunk of a second segment of the video program from the edge server.

Abstract: A forage harvester including a frame, a cutting arrangement and a plurality of displacement mechanisms. The cutting arrangement includes a cutting drum that is rotatable about a rotation axis with respect to the frame, and a shear bar holder configured to receive a shear bar attached thereto. Each of the displacement mechanisms including an actuator for displacing the shear bar with respect to the cutting drum and the frame. The displacement mechanisms include a sensor arrangement to measure one or more values representative of a force exerted on the shear bar and the shear bar holder when the cutting drum is rotating and cutting crops supplied to an area between the cutting drum and the shear bar.
Abstract: A cable tension overload fuse assembly is configured to couple together a structural support cable operatively coupled to a structural support, and a net barrier cable supporting barrier netting. The cable tension overload fuse assembly includes a mechanical fuse and a rescue cable coupled to the structural support cable and the net barrier cable. The mechanical fuse is configured to break upon exertion of a predetermined force to allow the net barrier cable to sag to reduce forces transmitted to the structural support and prevent damage to it, while the rescue cable continues to couple together the structural support cable and the net barrier cable to prevent the net barrier and/or net barrier or net barrier cable from falling completely to the ground without the structural support cable and cable tension overload fuse assembly.
Abstract: Tampon dispensing devices and methods for using the same are provided. In some embodiments, a tampon dispensing device includes a display that presents one or more codes for receiving a tampon, an actuator that is connected to a spindle structure that dispenses the tampon from a plurality of tampons stored in a storage unit, and a controller that is connected to the display and the actuator, where the controller is configured to: receive, from a server, a code for dispensing one of the plurality of tampons; present the received code on the display; receive, from the server, a request to dispense one of the plurality of tampons from the storage unit; and transmit an instruction to the actuator that causes the actuator to rotate a spindle structure such that the tampon is dispensed from the storage unit into a dispensing area.
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for dynamically modifying an antenna profile to increase network performance. Initially, at a first node communicating using a first wireless communication protocol, such as 4G, locations of a plurality of second nodes communicating using at least second wireless communication protocol, such as 5G, are determined. Performance criteria is analyzed of one of more of the plurality of second nodes. Based on the determined locations and the analyzed performance criteria, the antenna profile is dynamically adjusted to increase a width of a beam associated with the first node.
Abstract: In one embodiment, a method for processing carbonaceous materials that includes introducing a first source of carbonaceous material as a first feedstock into a mixer. Then, a second source of carbonaceous material is introduced as a second feedstock into the mixer. The second feedstock is one of the outputs of the processing of the carbonaceous materials. These carbonaceous materials are mixed into a single feedstock of carbonaceous materials that is customized into a predetermined material composition, and this predetermined mixture is then pyrolyzed in a pyrolyzer to produce a custom carbonaceous output. Other embodiments are also disclosed.
