Abstract: Systems and methods that support the creation and timely electronic scheduling and delivery of course materials for training of individuals in an organization, in which course recommendations, scheduling, and rollout are based upon a number of factors including, for example, specific individual and/or business day-to-day operational performance measures, sales performance, and seasonal weather conditions by geographical region.
Abstract: A spacer and tether device for adapting a multiconductor plug includes a spacer configured to position a plug having multiple conductors at a predetermined distance from a jack having fewer conductors so that one or more conductors of the plug are not inserted into the jack, allowing the remaining conductors of the plug to properly align with the conductors in the jack. A tether attaches at one end to the spacer and at an opposite end to the housing of the plug so that the spacer is secured to the plug for use when required.

Abstract: A smart mirror attaches directly to a larger mirror, window pane, or other base structure in a fashion meant to appear as low profile as possible, meaning the smart mirror extends a very short distance outward from the mounting surface of the base structure, and there are no visible attachment devices. The smart mirror appears to be a part of the surface upon which it is mounted and appears to blend in seamlessly when the base structure is a mirror. Additionally, the smart mirror is easy to install onto the base structure with thin adhesive gel pads that leave behind no residue and are completely reusable. This enables the user to mount the device onto any smooth surface and to be able to easily move the device when desired. The smart mirror does not have any integral, built-in camera or microphone, but can be added as separate add-on peripheral modules.
Abstract: Mapped RAID protection is provided for data written into multiple logical RAID spaces, and the data written to each one of the RAID spaces is stored in data storage drives contained in a corresponding one of multiple protection groups of data storage drives. Drive health information is collected for each data storage drive contained in the protection groups, and a faultiness level of each individual data storage drive in the protection groups is calculated based on the drive health information. A faultiness-balanced distribution of the data storage drives across the protection groups is then generated based on the calculated faultiness levels of the individual data storage drives.
Abstract: Techniques for feature-based deployment pipelines are disclosed. The feature-based deployment pipelines use a service file as well as other manifest files to set up a repository, a continuous integration service to initiate testing, and a container orchestration system to build images and establish version control over the system. The feature-based deployment pipelines invoke sequential stages to enable feature branches of an application to be fully tested before proceeding to a succeeding stage. At each stage, relevant stakeholders are able to evaluate the new features before they become part of the master image of the tested application. A variety of validation and performance tests are conducted at each stage, resulting in a fully vetted application available for a consumer.
Abstract: A control device configured for use in a load control system to control an external electrical load may provide simple feedback regarding the operation of the control device. For example, the control device may comprise a base portion configured to be mounted to an electrical wallbox or over a mechanical switch, and a control unit connected to the base portion. The control unit may comprise a rotation portion rotatable with respect to the base portion, an actuation portion, and a light source. The control unit may be configured to control the light source to illuminate at least an illuminated portion of the actuation portion in response to actuations of the rotation portion and the actuation portion. In addition, the control unit may provide a limit indication on the illuminated portion by blinking the illuminated portion when the electrical load has reached a limit.

Abstract: The disclosure provides example methods and a system that includes: (a) a fluidization bed having a reservoir and comprising a base and a plurality of side walls, (b) an epoxy-based powder disposed within the reservoir, where the fluidization bed is configured to fluidize the epoxy-based powder, (c) a first heating element configured to heat the wire matrix reinforcement to at least a melting temperature, (d) a conveyor positioned over the fluidization bed and configured to engage the wire matrix reinforcement, where the conveyor is configured to submerge the wire matrix reinforcement into the fluidized epoxy-based powder such that a portion of the epoxy-based powder melts and coats the wire matrix reinforcement, and where the conveyor is configured to remove the wire matrix reinforcement from the epoxy-based powder; and (e) a second heating element configured to cure the epoxy-based powder coating the wire matrix reinforcement into a corrosion resistant barrier.
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products are provided for presenting content in accordance with a placement designation. One example method includes identifying terms associated with a campaign, the campaign having an associated content item that is presented to users responsive to requests for content, receiving an indication of a placement designation including targeting criteria for presenting the content item in a search suggestion control along with search suggestions, storing information associated with the campaign, and processing content requests.
Abstract: A computer-aided design (CAD) system enables physical articles to be customized via printing or embroidering and enables digital content to be customized and electronically shared. A CAD user interface may be generated that includes an image of a model of an article of manufacture and a customizable template. The customizable template may include user customizable design areas. One or more defined rules associated with respective customizable areas may be accessed. In response to a user selection of a default content item and a corresponding rule, content items may be automatically used to populate other template design areas and/or change a color of one or content items. Manufacturing instructions corresponding to the user customizations may be transmitted to a printing system using a file that includes location, rotation, and/or scale data.

Abstract: This invention pertains to the field of free-space optical (FSO) communications, and specifically to the realization of functional FSO optical transceiver terminals located at remote electrically unpowered locations within a communications network. A remote unpowered FSO terminal located at a far-end location receives necessary optical power from a powered base station location (near-end) required for all optical amplification functions necessary for NRZ or RZ format signals within the spectral range of 900 nm to 1480 nm as well as an Ultra Short Pulsed Laser (USPL) centered at 1560 nm at the far-end location. A transmitting node identified as the near-end transmits an optical signal identified as a pump signal to a remote location classified as the far-end node over a free space medium, such as the atmosphere, where the far-end node location does not have available electrical power for operation of electro-optic components required for transmission and retransmission functions.
