Abstract: Rather than trying to call a gobbler and waiting for the gobbler to approach, the hunter instead attempts to seek a gobbler while holding a decoy. As the hunter comes within sight of the gobbler, he can slowly move (e.g., tilt and/or rotate) the decoy so that its fan moves in a manner that mimics movement of a real turkey. It has been found that the gobbler will often fixate on the decoy failing to notice the hunter even when he is not well camouflaged. In fact, the gobbler will often approach the decoy in an aggressive manner making it much less wary than in a typical hunt where a hunter is attempting to make calls that imitate a hen. When the hunter feels that the gobbler is fixated on the decoy, he can couple the decoy to his weapon thereby freeing both of his hands for operating his weapon.

Abstract: A nonwoven fabric has active antimicrobial and anti-viral agents coated onto it. Alternatively, an active antimicrobial/antiviral agent may be mixed into the barrier coating or fiber polymers themselves that make up the nonwoven material. A primary example is the treatment of an existing fabric having known permeability appropriate for an intended use. Intended uses for this nonwoven fabric include, but are not limited to, as a wearable garment, hair coverings, “booties,” temporary curtains, instrument wraps, surgical drapes, and blankets, each of which has active antimicrobial protection, thereby allowing the possibility of multiple uses of the fabric product.

Abstract: Exemplary embodiments may provide an approach to converting multidimensional color data for an image encoded in a first color space into an intermediate form that is a single dimensional value. The exemplary embodiments may then decode the intermediate form value to produce an encoding of the color data that is encoded in a second color space that differs from the first color space. In this manner, the data for the image may be efficiently converted from an encoding in the first color space into an encoding in the second color space.

Abstract: Systems and method are provided that are directed to tuning a hyperparameter associated with a small neural network model and transferring the hyperparameter to a large neural network model. At least one neural network model may be received along with a request for one or more tuned hyperparameters. Prior to scaling the large neural network, the large neural network is parameterized in accordance with a parameterizing schemed. The large neural network is then scaled and reduced in size such that a hyperparameter tuning process may be performed. A tuned hyperparameter may then be provided to a requestor such that the hyperparameter can be directly input into the large neural network. By tuning a hyper parameter using a small neural network, significant computation cycles and energy may be saved.

Abstract: Example embodiments provide systems and methods for increasing the cryptographic strength of an encryption or message-authentication-code- (MAC) generation technique. According to some embodiments, a MAC may be constructed around a shared secret (such as a random initialization number), thereby increasing strength of the MAC against brute force attacks based on the size of the shared secret. The MAC may be combined with randomized data, and may also be encrypted to further bolster the strength of the code. These elements (shared secret, MAC algorithm, and encryption algorithm) may be employed in various combinations and to varying degrees, depending on the application and desired level of security. At each stage, the cryptographic construct operates on the cyptographically modified data from the previous stage. This layering of cryptographic constructs may increase the strength of the group of contrasts more efficiently than applying any one construct with a larger key size or similar increase in complexity.

Abstract: Computer-implemented methods and apparatus that use neural modulation codes as an alternative to training many individual recognition models or to loosing performance by training mixed models. Large neural models are modulated by codes that model the different conditions. The codes directly alter (modulate) the behavior of connections in a multiconditional perceptual classifier, so as to permit the most appropriate neuronal units and their features to be applied to each condition. The approach may be applied to multilingual ASR, where the resulting multilingual network arrangement is able to achieve performance that is competitive or better than individually trained mono-lingual network. Moreover, the approach requires no adaptation data or extensive adaptation/training time to operate in a manner tuned to each condition. Beyond multilingual speech processing systems the approach can be applied to many other perceptual processing problems (e.g.
