Abstract: Disclosed is a device for use in the oral cavity that includes a (1) handle, (2) camera, scanner, or other imaging device (collectively, “camera”), and (3) flexible stem having a first end attached to the handle and a second end attached to the camera. The stem can be moved by an operator into a bent (or curved) position suitable for taking images in various locations in the oral cavity, such as in the back of the mouth and/or behind the teeth. The stem requires an appropriate amount of bending force to be moved into a curved position and then out of the curved position into another position. The flexible stem is configured to require enough bending force so that it does not relax sufficiently to move out of position during normal use.

  • Publication number: 20220055188
Abstract: A centerline clamp assembly sized to insert into an end aperture of a pipe structure, characterized by two or more symmetrically-formed linkages interoperably connected in series, with each of these linkages comprising respective opposing toggle joints pivotally joined at their inner ends to a shared common linkage assembly and at their outer ends by a respective first linkage assembly and a second linkage assembly, with each linkage assembly defining a respective bore configured to concurrently receive an actuating shaft in position along a common geometric centerline axis of the pipe. Multiple alternative configurations may be used in which the number of linkages and linkage assemblies may be increased to achieve clamping action at multiple locations in a pipe structure, thus varying the clamping force according to the properties of the pipe. The configuration and number of linkage assemblies may serve as mounting platforms for instruments, tools, and/or accessories.

  • Publication number: 20220054587
Abstract: SCGB-based preparations and methods to use these preparations to protect the glycocalyx in medical, veterinary, and cosmetic applications are provided. The secretoglobins (SCGBs) are a family of small secreted globular proteins present in all mammals and sharing conserved structure and thought to share similar immunomodulatory functions. Heparan sulfate proteoglycan proteins (HSPGs) are expressed on the outer membranes of cells and have carbohydrate side chains that, together, make up the glycocalyx. The glycocalyx is a protective layer surrounding all cells, acting as a filter regulating the passage of nutrients into the cell and modifying cell signaling by external factors. There are two major families of HSPGs including syndecans and glypicans, plus several other HSPGs in all mammals. SCGBs bind to, and interact with, HSPGs to further modulate cell signaling and cellular responses to external factors.

  • Publication number: 20220054305
Abstract: A heat sleeve for selectively heating a residual limb of an amputee is provided. The heat sleeve includes a first sock member having an open proximal end, a distal end and a continuous side wall, all defining an open interior area configured to receive the residual limb therein. A temperature regulating apparatus includes a thermal adjustment element adapted to be mounted onto an exterior surface of the first sock member proximate the distal end, and a power supply operatively coupled to the thermal adjustment element. When the power supply is in its ON orientation and providing power to the thermal adjustment element, the thermal adjustment element selectively heats the residual limb within the first sock. A second sock member may then receive the residual limb, the first sock member and the flexible heating element therein.

  • Patent number: 11253149
Abstract: A system and a method for holographic eye testing device are disclosed. The system renders one or more three dimensional objects within the holographic display device. The system updates the rendering of the one or more three dimensional objects within the holographic display device, by virtual movement of the one or more three dimensional objects within the level of depth. The system receives input from a user indicating alignment of the one or more three dimensional objects after the virtual movement. The system determines a delta between a relative virtual position of the one or more three dimensional objects at the moment of receiving input and an optimal virtual position and generates prescriptive remedy based on the delta.
