Abstract: Techniques for implementing and/or operating a system that includes a pipe drum, which has a drum shaft and a drum body that enables a pipe segment to be spooled on the pipe drum, and pipe deployment equipment. The pipe deployment equipment includes a brake disc, which has a shaft socket that is keyed to matingly interlock with the drum shaft to facilitate tying rotation of the pipe drum with rotation of the brake disc, and a spooling assembly that includes a motor shaft, in which the spooling assembly ties rotation of the motor shaft with the rotation of the brake disc to enable the pipe deployment equipment to actively rotate the brake disc in a first direction to facilitate spooling the pipe segment off of the pipe drum, to actively rotate the brake disc in a second direction to facilitate spooling the pipe segment onto the pipe drum, or both.

Abstract: A system and method for aligning a target to a vehicle for calibration of a sensor equipped on the vehicle includes multiple non-contact wheel alignment sensors configured for use in determining the orientation of tire and wheel assemblies of the vehicle. A target adjustment frame includes a target mount moveably mounted on a base frame, and includes multiple actuators configured to selectively move the target mount relative to the base frame, where the base frame is in a known orientation to the non-contact wheel alignment sensors. A computer system selectively actuates the actuators to position a target relative to the vehicle, with the target mount being moveable about a plurality of axes based on the determination of the orientation of the vehicle relative to the target adjustment frame to position the target relative to a sensor of the vehicle whereby the sensor is able to be calibrated using the target.

Abstract: A method of protecting a fusion splice of first and second fiber optic cables includes: (a) providing a first member; (b) providing a second member formed of an activatable material; (c) positioning the fusion splice adjacent the first member and the second member; and (d) activating the second member to cause the second member to flow over the fusion splice and to engage the first member such that the activatable material at least partially surrounds the fusion splice.
Abstract: This document describes techniques and apparatuses for handling radio resource control (RRC) cell group configuration. In implementations, a base station (120) receives a first radio resource control message that requests a connection procedure between a user equipment (110) and the base station (e.g., 325, 425, 1325), such as a radio resource control resume request or a radio resource setup request. In response to receiving the first radio resource control message, the base station (120) generates a second radio resource control message that includes a cell-group-configuration information element that excludes a reconfiguration-with-sync information element (e.g., 330, 430, 1330). The base station (120) then transmits the second radio resource control message to the user equipment (110) (e.g., 335, 435, 1345). Afterward, the base station (120) receives, from the user equipment (110), a third radio resource control message that indicates the connection procedure is complete (e.g., 340, 440, 1350).
Abstract: According to the invention, there is provided seed and plants of the hybrid corn variety designated CH011035. The invention thus relates to the plants, seeds and tissue cultures of the variety CH011035, and to methods for producing a corn plant produced by crossing a corn plant of variety CH011035 with itself or with another corn plant, such as a plant of another variety. The invention further relates to genetic complements of plants of variety CH011035.

Abstract: A fuel system is provided that includes a fuel system frame and in some cases access steps. The frame can be mounted to a vehicle frame rail. Bracket assemblies can be coupled to the fuel system frame at a plurality of positions. The fuel tank can be mounted at neck portions thereof and can be supported on the frame rail between the neck portions, e.g., spaced a distance from the neck portions in a longitudinal direction of the fuel system. The access steps can be non-rectangular to provide a wide stepping portion even if the fuel system includes large tanks. The steps can be directly supported by an outside surface of the tank.

Abstract: Particular embodiments described herein provide for a system that can be configured to facilitate the use of a blockchain for distributed denial of service attack mitigation, the system can include a network security provider and a validating node. The network security provider can recognize that a distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack is occurring, create a block that includes data related to the DDoS attack, and publish the block that includes the data related to the DDoS attack for addition to a blockchain. The validating node can validate the block that includes the data related to the DDoS attack and the block that includes the data related to the DDoS attack can be added to the blockchain. The block that includes the data related to the DDoS attack can be analyzed to determine how to mitigate a similar DDoS attack.

Abstract: Extending the spatial coverage of a reference pressure network. Particular embodiments described herein include machines that initially determine that an estimated position of a mobile device resides outside a coverage area of a network of reference pressure sensors. Reference-level pressures corresponding to reference pressure sensors of the network are determined using measurements of pressure from the network of reference pressure sensors. A pressure pattern for a region that includes the estimated position and an area not included in the coverage area of the network is determined using reference-level pressures that were not determined using measurements of pressure from the network of reference pressure sensors. The reference-level pressures corresponding to reference pressure sensors of the network and the pressure pattern are used to determine a reference-level pressure value for use in calibrating a pressure sensor of the mobile device or for use in estimating an altitude of the mobile device.

Abstract: A system for presenting audio content to a user. The system comprises one or more microphones coupled to a frame of a headset. The one or more microphones capture sound from a local area. The system further comprises an audio controller integrated into the headset and communicatively coupled to an in-ear device worn by a user. The audio controller identifies one or more sound sources in the local area based on the captured sound. The audio controller further determines a target sound source of the one or more sound sources and determines one or more filters to apply to a sound signal associated with the target sound source in the captured sound. The audio controller further generates an augmented sound signal by applying the one or more filters to the sound signal and provides the augmented sound signal to the in-ear device for presentation to a user.
