Abstract: A fiber optic furcation assembly includes a main fiber optic cable structure, a plurality of furcation tubes, and a housing with a cavity including a transition portion. A plurality of optical fibers each continuously and uninterruptedly extends through an end portion of a jacket of the main fiber optic cable structure, the transition portion of the cavity of the housing, and a respective one of the plurality of furcation tubes. In one embodiment, the cavity includes a securing portion including a plurality of protrusions. The plurality of protrusions defines a plurality of locating channels and at least one securing channel that intersects the locating channels. Bonding material is positioned within the securing channel and bonds the plurality of furcation tubes to the plurality of protrusions. In another embodiment, a cable mount includes a housing attachment, a cable jacket attachment, and a passage. The housing attachment is mounted within a port of the housing.

Abstract: Embeddable extensions of the functionality of email and calendaring applications are described herein. An originating email and calendaring application formats meeting items to include extensible content, e.g., within the body field of the meeting item. Recipient email and calendaring applications receive the meeting items and, depending on whether they are configured to provide an extended functionality, will either deploy the extensible content item according to the extended functionality or present the extensible content item according to a standardized functionality. The body field includes the extensible content item according to the standardized functionality that is interpretable by configured clients to provide the extended functionality.

Abstract: Data deduplication techniques may use a fingerprint hash table and a backend location hash table in connection with performing operations including fingerprint insertion, fingerprint deletion and fingerprint lookup. Processing I/O operations may include: receiving a write operation that writes data to a target logical address; determining a fingerprint for the data; querying the fingerprint hash table using the fingerprint to determine a matching entry of the fingerprint hash table for the fingerprint; and responsive to determining that the fingerprint hash table does not have the matching entry that matches the fingerprint, performing processing including: inserting a first entry in the fingerprint hash table, wherein the first entry includes the fingerprint for the data and identifies a storage location at which the data is stored; and inserting a second entry in a backend location hash table, wherein the second entry references the first entry.

Abstract: An intelligent assistant records speech spoken by a first user and determines a self-selection score for the first user. The intelligent assistant sends the self-selection score to another intelligent assistant, and receives a remote-selection score for the first user from the other intelligent assistant. The intelligent assistant compares the self-selection score to the remote-selection score. If the self-selection score is greater than the remote-selection score, the intelligent assistant responds to the first user and blocks subsequent responses to all other users until a disengagement metric of the first user exceeds a blocking threshold. If the self-selection score is less than the remote-selection score, the intelligent assistant does not respond to the first user.

Abstract: A pathogen disinfection apparatus includes an ultraviolet (UV) light source configured to emit UV light toward a target location to at least partially inactivate pathogens exposed to the emitted UV light in the path of the emitted light and a surface of the target location. The UV light has a mean peak wavelength between 200-280 nanometers. Further, the pathogen disinfection apparatus includes a distance sensor configured to determine a distance between the UV light source and the target location. Moreover, the pathogen disinfection apparatus includes dosimetry circuitry configured to monitor a dose of the UV light at the target location in real-time based at least in part on an intensity of the UV light and the distance between the UV light source and the target location.

Abstract: A hydraulic gerotor pump for an automatic transmission may comprise a housing and a gear set rotatably disposed within the housing. The gear set may comprise an inner gear and an outer gear having radially opposed intermeshing teeth that together define a plurality of circumferentially disposed variable volume pumping chambers therebetween. The housing may be made of a first aluminum-based material, and the inner gear and the outer gear of the gear set may be made of a second aluminum-based material. The linear coefficient of thermal expansion of the first aluminum-based material may be substantially the same as that of the second aluminum-based material.

Abstract: A container and method include a bowl having an interior for storing a substance, an openable lower lid for accessing the substance when the lower lid is in an open configuration, and an upper lid for retaining the substance within the interior of the bowl and the lower lid. The lower lid in the open configuration is replaceable and resealable using an adhesive to be in a closed configuration, with the substance sealed within the bowl. The bowl, the lower lid, and the upper lid are composed of a biodegradable or recyclable material. A ring is disposed under a lip of the bowl and engageable with the upper lid for establishing a child-resistant engagement between the upper lid and the bowl.

Abstract: Embodiments in accordance with the present invention encompass a composition containing a latent catalyst and a compound capable of generating a Bronsted acid with a counterion capable of coordinating and activating the latent catalyst along with one or more monomers which undergo ring open metathesis polymerization (ROMP) and one or more multi-functional crosslinkable molecules when said composition is exposed to a suitable radiation forms a three-dimensional (3D) object. The catalyst system employed therein can be sensitive to oxygen and thus inhibits polymerization in ambient atmospheric conditions. The three-dimensional objects made by this process exhibits improved mechanical properties, particularly, high distortion temperature, impact strength, elongation to break, among others. Accordingly, compositions of this invention are useful as 3D inkjet materials for forming high impact strength objects of various sizes with microscale features lower than 100 microns, among various other uses.

Abstract: A method is provided of designing and producing a carbon fiber composite wrist pin using a combination of a carbon fiber composite pultruded rod that is overwrapped with a carbon fiber prepreg fabric. The use of the carbon fiber pultruded rod and the carbon fiber prepreg fabric results in a rod with optimal flexural strength properties to endure the flexural stress placed on a wrist pin during the cycling of an internal combustion engine. In addition, the overwrapping of the pultruded rod with a carbon fiber prepreg fabric allows for one pultruded rod blank to produce multiple wrist pin sizes by allowing one to change the outer diameter of the wrist pin by changing the thickness of the carbon fiber prepreg fabric overwrapping. After overwrapping, the rod blank is cut to a chosen specific length, optionally inserted into a metal sleeve, and coated with a thermal barrier coating. The wrist pin is then ground to a chosen specific tolerance and coated with an anti-friction coating.

The system also includes a retention fastener securing the key to the first tubular, the retention fastener being arranged within an elongated aperture extending through the key. The user may configure a file server to ensure that a primary node and one or more failover nodes of the file server are on a same sub-network. By doing so, and restricting nodes of a file server to being on a same sub-network, a relatively seamless failover between nodes of a file server may be achieved.
