Abstract: A lumber culling system may include a carriage with a distal wall and a proximal wall spaced apart from one another to form an interior of the carriage. An aperture may extend through the distal wall and the proximal wall. The aperture is sized and shaped to allow a board of wood to pass through the distal wall and the proximal wall. Further, the interior of the carriage is visible within the aperture. Imaging equipment may be disposed within the interior of the carriage and arranged to scan a portion of each side of the board of wood that is positioned within the aperture. The carriage may be moved along a length of the board of wood while the board of wood is at rest on static datum supports.

Abstract: A system for obscuring portions of multimedia content, includes: a processor; and memory coupled to the processor, wherein the memory has stored thereon instructions that, when executed by the processor, causes the processor to: identify obscuring preferences from a user profile; determine one or more objectionable content types from the obscuring preferences; retrieve one or more filter files corresponding to the objectionable content types, each of the filter files including at least one filter image corresponding to a portion of a frame; and transmit the filter image to obscure the portion of the frame.

Abstract: A system for identifying plugging of ground engaging tools of an agricultural implement may include a ground engaging tool configured to be supported by an agricultural implement and a signal transmission device provided in operative association with the ground engaging tool, with the signal transmission device being configured to transmit wireless signals. The system may also include an antenna spaced apart from the signal transmission device and configured to receive the wireless signals transmitted from the signal transmission device, and a controller communicatively coupled to the antenna. The controller is configured to determine when the ground engaging tool is experiencing a plugged condition based at least in part on at least one of an attenuation parameter of the wireless signals received by the antenna from signal transmission device or a lack of wireless signals received by the antenna from signal transmission device.

Abstract: An improved Center High Mounted Stop Lamp (CHMSL) harvests electrical power while providing additional features when the CHMSL is not powered during a brake application. Electronic circuitry determines if the different sources of electrical power have sufficient energy to activate the light-emitting device; senses a vehicle braking or emergency event to activate the light-emitting device upon sensing the event; and switches from one source of electrical power to a different source of electrical power if it is determined that a particular source of electrical power has become depleted or incapable of activating the light-emitting device. The different sources of electrical power may include a supercapacitor, a rechargeable battery, or a primary battery. The electronic circuitry operative to sense a braking or emergency event may include a brake signal input or an inertial measurement unit (IMU).

Abstract: An on-vehicle radar system is described, and includes a phased array antenna including a plurality of transmit antennas, and a corresponding plurality of transmitters, wherein each of the transmitters is in communication with a respective one of the transmit antennas. A controller is operatively connected to each of the plurality of transmitters. The controller includes an instruction set that is executable to generate a plurality of Non-Linear Frequency Modulated (NLFM) radar signals corresponding to individual ones of the plurality of transmitters. Each of the NLFM radar signals that is generated for a respective one of the transmitters is determined based upon a desired beam steering angle and a position of the respective one of the transmit antennas of the phased array antenna.

Abstract: Apparatuses and methods of optically analyzing fluid within a pipette are described herein. In an embodiment, an optical reader subassembly includes a pipette configured to aspirate and hold a fluid sample within its tip, a housing configured to receive at least the tip of the pipette through a reentrant seal so that the tip of the pipette is located in a light tight manner within an internal area, a light source positioned to be in proximity to the tip of the pipette when the tip of the pipette is received by the housing, the light source configured to project light through the tip of the pipette and onto the fluid sample held within the tip, and an optical sensor configured to take a reading of the fluid sample held within the tip of the pipette without any of the fluid sample being injected from the pipette.

Abstract: A device may obtain a notification that a transaction occurred, where the transaction is associated with a financial account of a user, and a merchant. The device may determine that the merchant is associated with providing confirmation messages for transactions, and may process, based on determining that the merchant is associated with providing confirmation messages, one or more messages in a messaging account associated with the user to determine whether the messaging account includes a confirmation message associated with the transaction. The device may determine that the messaging account does not include any confirmation message associated with the transaction, may determine a likelihood that the transaction was unauthorized based on the messaging account not including a confirmation message, and may perform an action associated with the financial account of the user based on the likelihood that the transaction was unauthorized.

Abstract: Computer-readable media, computer systems, computing methods, and computing devices for providing deep-link notifications is provided. In embodiments, the method includes identifying one or more deep links that correspond with a navigated to website. Such deep links may be identified using a search service. The deep links can be comprised of popular links within the website other than a main page of the website. Upon identifying deep links that correspond with a navigated to website, a deep-link notification is provided via a toolbar. The deep-link notification provides an indication that deep links are available for the website.

Abstract: A seating assembly includes a seating surface extending over at least one of a seat and a seatback. The seating assembly also includes a fluid mover and a fluid transfer member including a fluid inlet portion and a fluid outlet portion. The fluid inlet portion is coupled to the fluid mover, and the fluid outlet portion is proximate the seating surface. The fluid mover is selectively operable to release a pressurized fluid through the tube so that the release of the pressurized fluid at the outlet cools a seating assembly occupant.

Abstract: A crescent internal gear pump includes a front cover, an end cover, a ring gear and a pinion gear disposed within a gear housing in an eccentric, intermeshing relationship. The housing is disposed intermediate the front cover and the end cover. A crescent is disposed radially intermediate the ring gear and the pinion gear. The crescent partially extends into a correspondingly shaped slot in the end cover. The gear housing, the ring gear, and the pinion gear can have substantially the same thickness. A shim can be disposed intermediate the end cover and the gear housing for establishing a desired clearance therebetween.

Abstract: A hydraulic actuator control system that includes an actuator. A pump pumps a hydraulic fluid to move the actuator. A first control valve fluidly couples to the pump. The first control valve provides a first hydraulic fluid flow to the actuator. A maximum first hydraulic fluid flow through the first control valve is less than a maximum required hydraulic fluid flow of the actuator. A second control valve fluidly couples to the pump. The second control valve provides a second hydraulic fluid flow to the actuator. A maximum second hydraulic fluid flow through the second control valve is less than the maximum required hydraulic fluid flow of the actuator. A controller controls the first control valve and the second control valve to provide the hydraulic fluid to the actuator.

Abstract: A headlight unit includes a housing, a micro-LED device mounted in the housing, a relay lens system mounted in the housing forward of the micro-LED device, and a projection lens system mounted in the housing forward of the relay lens system. The micro-LED device has a plurality of forward-facing micro-LEDs, wherein first, second and third subsets of the micro-LEDs are arranged in respective first, second and third 2D arrays. The relay lens system includes first, second and third relay lenses configured to receive and relay respective first, second and third streams of light emitted by the first, second and third subsets of micro-LEDs. The projection lens system includes first, second and third projection lenses configured to receive and project the first, second and third streams of light in respective first, second and third projection patterns.

Abstract: Some embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to systems and methods for separating, directing, and/or extracting a target molecule from a mix of molecules and may comprise a plurality of non-magnetic beads suspended in a ferro fluid, where the non-magnetic beads may be functionalized with at least one predetermined first molecule configured to bind with a target particle. A microfluidic device may be included which may comprise at least one microfluidic channel, the device configured to dynamically and/or statically receive an amount of the mix. Magnetic field means may be included and may be configured to apply a magnetic field to at least a portion of the at least one channel to exert an indirect force on the non-magnetic heads in the ferro fluid mix, and separate the non-magnetic beads from the ferrofluid. The beads may then be directed to at least one receptor region.

Abstract: A system, a machine-readable storage medium storing instructions, and a computer-implemented method as described herein are directed to a Fast Ranker Engine that identifies global model features present in an article in a social network service. The Fast Ranker Engine assembles respective fixed vectors based on at least one member account feature and each coefficient that corresponds to a present global article feature of the global model. The Fast Ranker Engine generates a transformation feature(s) for a prediction model of the article based on the respective fixed vectors.

Abstract: Improved HMDs are described. The HMD is configured to provide higher resolution image content within a central area of a display of the HMD and to provide lower resolution image content within peripheral areas of the display. The HMD includes a higher resolution camera, a first lower resolution camera, and a second lower resolution camera. The FOV of the first lower resolution camera minimally overlaps the FOV of the higher resolution camera, and the FOV of the second lower resolution camera minimally overlaps the FOV of the higher resolution camera. The minimal overlap is less than 10 degrees. By structuring the HMD in this manner, the HMD can generate merged images that mimic a user's foveal vision acuity.

Abstract: A transmitter for transmitting payload data and emergency information using data symbols in a single-carrier or multi-carrier broadcast system includes a modulator configured to modulate one or more transmission symbols with signaling data for use in detecting and recovering the payload data at a receiver and to modulate one or more transmission symbols with the payload data. An emergency information receiver receives emergency information carrying information of an actual emergency. An emergency information embedder embeds emergency information into one or more transmission symbols, wherein the emergency information is embedded within a predetermined time period after its reception by using a resource used for carrying signaling data and/or payload data if no emergency information shall be transmitted. A transmission unit transmits the transmission symbols.

Abstract: A compressor installation having a reduced load at start-up, including a gas compressor having an inlet and an outlet and a start-up valve connected to the outlet of the compressor. The start-up valve includes a valve body having an inlet and an outlet, a valve plunger connected to the inlet of the valve body, a spring connected to the valve body and the valve plunger, and a muffler. The start-up valve is configured to discharge the compressed gas through the muffler to atmosphere to reduce the load on the motor at start-up. After starting the compressor, the spring in the start-up valve is compressed after pressure is increased by the compressor and the discharge through the start-up valve to atmosphere is closed.

Abstract: A process adapts user-initiated search queries. The process executes at a client device with a microphone. The process downloads audio fingerprints from a remote server for a plurality of video programs, and downloads information that correlates the audio fingerprint to the video programs. The audio fingerprints are preselected according to relevancy criteria, including stored user preferences and prior search queries by the user. The audio fingerprints and correlating information are stored locally. The process detects ambient sound using the microphone and computes one or more sample audio fingerprints from the detected ambient sound. The process matches a sample audio fingerprint to a locally stored audio fingerprint and uses the correlating information to identify a first video program corresponding to the matched sample audio fingerprint. The process then receives user input to initiate a search query. The process provides auto-complete suggestions for the search query based on the first video program.

Abstract: Embodiments of a store label booklet include a plurality of sheets stacked one on top of the other and connected to a binding that spans an entire thickness of the booklet, each sheet including a planar array of store labels. No release coating is used. When each store label or row is removed from the book, a liner strip remains connected to the binder and a portion of the adhesive lying opposite the liner strip is exposed for application of the label to a retail shelf edge. Each store label may differ in orientation, size, or style and may contain different product information. Location information may be located on a binding of the booklet, on the label, or on both the binding and the label. The store labels may be printed in a predetermined order.

Abstract: Techniques for scavenging blocks may include: determining, in accordance with a selected option, a set of candidate upper deck file systems, wherein at least a first of the candidate upper deck file systems has storage allocated from at least one block of a lower deck file system; and performing, in accordance with the selected option, scavenging of the set of candidate upper deck file systems to attempt to free blocks of the lower deck file system. Scavenging may include issuing a request to perform hole punching of a backed free block of the first candidate upper deck file system, wherein the backed free block has first provisioned storage that is associated with a block of the lower deck file system. The selected option may be one of multiple options each specifying a different candidate set of upper deck file systems upon which hole punching is performed when selected.
