Abstract: A method includes analyzing operational code to determine identifiers used within the operational code. The method further includes grouping like identifiers based a relational aspect of the identifiers. The method further includes, for one or more identifier groups, determining potential feature(s) of the identifier group(s). The method further includes testing the potential feature(s) based on a corresponding feature test suite to produce feedback regarding meaningfulness of the potential feature(s). The method further comprises, when the meaningfulness is above a threshold, adding the potential feature(s) to a feature set. The method further includes, when the meaningfulness is at or below the threshold, adjusting analysis parameter(s), grouping parameter(s), feature parameter(s), and/or testing parameter(s).

Abstract: A thermoelectric generator system including: a first surface having a first material configured to undergo a phase change at a first temperature; an actuator configured to retract the first material from contacting a heat source upon the heat source reaching a predetermined temperature higher than the first temperature; and a thermoelectric generator having a hot side and a cold side, the first material being on the hot side. The thermoelectric generator system can further include a second material configured to undergo a phase change at a second temperature, the second temperature being lower than the first temperature, the second material being on the cold side of the thermoelectric generator.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatus are described herein for pre-winding a motorized roller shade. The motorized roller shade may include a roller tube, a flexible material attached to the roller tube, a motor drive unit, and mounting brackets configured to support respective ends of the roller tube. The roller tube of the roller shade may be slid to an extended position. A configuration procedure may be determined to have been initiated. The flexible material may be secured, for example, to prevent the flexible material from unrolling. The roller tube may be wound a predetermined number of rotations with the flexible material and a hembar of the roller shade secured, for example, to prevent the flexible material from being raised or lowered. Winding the roller tube may include pre-winding a spring that is coupled to the roller tube. The flexible material may be unsecured when the roller tube has been pre-wound.

Abstract: An internal combustion engine includes an engine block, a blower housing configured to direct cooling air to the engine block, an electric starting system, and a crankshaft configured to rotate about a crankshaft axis. The electric starting system includes an electric motor and an energy storage device located within the blower housing. The energy storage device is electrically coupled to the electric motor to power the electric motor, and is positioned above the crankshaft. When the starter motor is activated, the electric starting system rotates the crankshaft to rotate the engine for starting.

Abstract: A portable birdfinding device comprising a plurality of PDM microphone sensors (e.g. a microphone array) coupled to processing electronics that electronically filter the acoustic signals to detect sounds from birds, and to interpret the acoustic signals to identify the angle-of-arrival (e.g. azimuth and elevation) and distance from which the bird sound is coming. Additional electronic processing may provide an identification of the bird species. In some embodiments, the microphone array may have sensors spaced so that sounds from distant birds have a different time of flight to reach the different microphone sensors, while having the spacing between microphones be less than half of the wavelength for sounds made by a predetermined bird species. The microphone array may be positioned onto an object wearable by the birdwatcher, such as a hat or a jacket. In some embodiments, the electronic processing may be carried out using a smartphone.

Abstract: This document describes techniques and apparatuses for computing device battery removal. In aspects, described are computing device battery removal techniques and apparatuses that provide simple, expeditious, and reliable methods for removing a battery from a computing device. Current battery-removal devices generally require additional adhesives or fail to provide enough strength for reliable battery removal. The disclosed techniques and apparatuses provide an improved battery-removal device that utilizes a thin member installed on the battery to increase space and reliability when removing the battery from a computing device.

Abstract: A system of reducing transmissions of packetized data in a voice activated data packet based computer network environment is provided. A natural language processor component can parse an input audio signal to identify a request and a trigger keyword. Based on the input audio signal, a direct action application programming interface can generate a first action data structure, and a content selector component can select a content item. An interface management component can identify candidate interfaces and determine if prior instances of the packetized data was transmitted to the candidate interfaces. The interface management component can prevent the transmission of the packetized data if determined to be redundant.

Abstract: In aspects of managing FTM frames of WLAN RTT bursts, a device can receive a WLAN RTT burst, such as initiated by a device application, device firmware, or received as a RTT ranging request. The device implements a status module that interposes the routing of the ranging request in the device, and determines a device state of the device with a device state monitor of the status module. The status module is implemented to drop the ranging request if the device is an idle device state such that the ranging request is extraneous. Alternatively, the status module is implemented to reduce a number of FTM frames in the ranging request based on the device state indicating that multiple FTM frames of the ranging request are extraneous, and then route to perform the ranging request of the WLAN RTT burst with the reduced number of FTM frames in the ranging request.

Abstract: Techniques are described for injection molding. When material inside a cavity of a tool is solidified into a molded part, the tool imparts a finished surface onto the part, including sidewalls with a zero or low-draft angle. To allow separation from the cavity without using sleeves or sliders, the cavity is widened, just prior to the part being ejected. The tool is made from metal with a high coefficient of thermal expansion, so the size of the cavity can be manipulated using temperature control. Heat applied to an outer portion of the metal surrounding the cavity pulls the metal away from the part creating an air gap within the cavity. Carefully applied cooling to an inner portion of the metal blocks the heat and keeps the surface temperature under control, which preserves the finished surface on the part. When the air gap allows, the part releases from the cavity with the finished surface intact.

Abstract: A motorized window treatment may be configured to adjust a position of a covering material to control the amount of daylight entering a space. The motorized window treatment may include a DC power source for charging an energy storage element, such as a supercapacitor and/or rechargeable battery. The energy storage element may be configured to provide power for the operation of a motor used to adjust the position of the covering material. The energy storage element may discharge when providing power to the motor and may charge such that the current it draws from a battery is at a desired average current level that extends the lifetime of the battery.

Abstract: A vehicle control system for an agricultural vehicle, including a processing circuit including a processor and memory, the memory having instructions stored thereon that, when executed by the processor, cause the processing circuit to receive a location of a first vehicle, update a coverage map based on the location of the first vehicle, wherein the coverage map represents a region of operation for the agricultural vehicle and the first vehicle, designate one or more areas of the coverage map as repulsion areas based on the location of the first vehicle, and generate a path from the agricultural vehicle to the first vehicle based on the one or more repulsion areas.

Abstract: A circuit arrangement is disclosed for controlling the switching of a field effect transistor (FET). A current controlled amplifier may be configured to amplify a current in a current sense device to generate an amplified current, wherein the current in the current sense device indicates a current through the FET. A comparator may be coupled to the current sense amplifier to compare a voltage corresponding to the amplified current with a voltage reference and to generate a comparator output based on the comparison, wherein the comparator output controls whether the FET is on or off.

Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods for using a transaction to collect additional transaction information. The method may include: receiving transaction information indicating that a transaction of one or more products and/or services has been made by a user from a merchant; when the transaction information is received, scanning a user e-mail account to identify a receipt for the transaction within an e-mail of the user e-mail account, wherein the receipt is indicative of a transaction price; when the receipt for the transaction is identified: extracting information of the one or more products and/or services from the receipt; and based on the extracted information, automatically generating and submitting a price adjustment claim for the one or more products and/or services when a price lower than the transaction price is found; and when the receipt for the transaction cannot be identified: automatically submitting information about a missing receipt to a fraud system.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for allocating computing resources. In one aspect, a method includes receiving intent data specifying one or more computing services to be hosted by a computing network, requested characteristics of computing resources for use in hosting the computing service, and a priority value for each requested characteristic. A budget constraint is identified for each computing service. Available resources data is identified that specifies a set of available computing resources. A resource allocation problem for allocating computing resources for the one or more computing resources is generated based on the intent data, each budget constraint, and the available resources data. At least a portion of the set of computing resources is allocated for the one or more computing services based on results of evaluating the resource allocation problem to meet a particular resource allocation objective.

Abstract: Selection and serving of content items may include receiving data indicative of a status of an energy source of a device with a request for a content item. A first received content item may be associated with a first energy consumption level and a second received content item may be associated with a second energy consumption level. The accessed content items are responsive to the request for a content item. The first energy consumption level may be higher than the second energy consumption level. The first content item or the second content item may be selected based, at least in part, on the received data indicative of the status of the energy source of the device, and data to display the selected content item may be provided to the device.

Abstract: A rotary engine that starts and operates on compression-ignition of a heavy fuel without a secondary ignition source. The rotary engine includes a rotor housing that forms an epitrochoidal-shaped chamber having linear side portions extending between rounded end portions. A three-flanked rotor is disposed in the chamber to rotate and operate in a manner similar to that of a common Wankel-style rotary engine. The rotor and chamber are configured to provide a compression ratio sufficient to produce compression-ignition of a heavy fuel. The rotor includes apex seal and side seal mounting blocks formed from hardened materials and that are simply removable from the rotor for replacing apex and side seals. The apex seals may include multiple non-parallel seal members at each apex and the apex seals and the side seals may overlap or intersect a corner seal to increase sealing under high compression loads produced by the rotor/chamber configuration.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus include computer programs encoded on a computer-readable storage medium, including a method for providing content. A user of an initiating device is identified. Profile information for the identified user is located. The initiating device includes a display for presenting content to the user. An indication is received from an application running on the initiating device of an intent by the user to receive a first content item on a separate but co-located presentation device having enhanced presentation characteristics for presenting content. Additional content items are selected for delivery along with the first content item. The selection includes identifying a second different content item based on the profile information for the identified user and the enhanced presentation characteristics.

Abstract: Railroad hopper cars and methods of increasing total volume capacity of a railroad hopper car having a car body with two or more hoppers. In one embodiment, the railroad hopper car includes a car body having a pair of opposed sides and a pair of opposed ends defining a length. The hopper car additionally includes a pair of wheeled trucks supporting the car body. The hopper car further includes two or more spaced bulkheads extending between the pair of opposed sides to define three or more separate hoppers arranged adjacent one another along the length of the car body and between the pair of side walls. The hoppers being longitudinally asymmetric such that total volume of the hoppers on one side of a transverse center plane of the car body is different from total volume of the hoppers on the other side of the transverse center plane.

Abstract: Alumina support compositions comprising at least 0.1 wt % of silica are disclosed. The alumina support are characterized by a pore volume of greater than 0.60 cc/g, a median pore size ranging from about 70 to about 120, a pore size distribution such that at least 90% of the total pore volume falls within the range of about 20 to about 250, and a pore size distribution width of no less than about 40. Alumina compositions of the present invention exhibit a primary peak mode at a pore diameter less than the median pore diameter. Also provided are catalysts made from the alumina supports, and processes of preparing and using the supports and catalysts.
