  • Patent number: 11176459
Abstract: A network traffic hub extracts encryption metadata from messages establishing an encrypted connection between a smart appliance and a remote server and determines whether malicious behavior is present in the messages. For example, the network traffic hub can extract an encryption cipher suite, identified encryption algorithms, or a public certificate. The network traffic hub detects malicious behavior or security threats based on the encryption metadata. These security threats may include a man-in-the-middle attacker or a Padding Oracle On Downgraded Legacy Encryption attack. Upon detecting malicious behavior or security threats, the network traffic hub blocks the encrypted traffic or notifies a user.

  • Patent number: 11173652
Abstract: The present invention is a method for rehabilitating, repairing, and replacing manholes and connected sewer lines. In some embodiments, a compressed liner is inserted through the manhole access hole or the connected sewer lines. Prior to insertion, the liner may be cut and/or folded to be compressed to a size that can fit through the manhole opening or the sewer lines. Once inserted in the manhole or sewer lines, the liner should be expanded, and if necessary, bonded together with a resin along the separation line. Next, a bonding material may be injected between the liner and a surface of the manhole or sewer line to seal any cracks or fissures in the brick or concrete wall and to seal the liner against the existing manhole or sewer line to improve structural integrity and longevity. A new corbel may then be installed and bonded to the liner.

  • Patent number: 11178246
Abstract: The disclosed embodiments disclose techniques for managing cloud-based storage using a time-series database. A distributed cloud data management system (DCDMS) manages objects stored in a cloud storage system. The DCDMS leverages a distributed time-series database to track objects accessed via the DCDMS. During operation, the DCDMS receives a request to access an object using a path identifier and an object identifier. The DCDMS determines from the path identifier that the request is associated with one of its supported extended capabilities, and uses the previously tracked object operations that are stored in the time-series database to determine the actual target bucket in the cloud storage system that contains the requested object; the target bucket that contains the object may be different from the bucket identified in the path identifier that is received. The object identifier is then used to access the requested object from the target bucket to service the request.
