Abstract: Examples are disclosed that relate to querying data in a distributed storage system. One example provides, at a front-end node, a method comprising receiving a query regarding data stored in an object, obtaining information identifying data nodes at which blocks of the object are stored, sending, to a first data node, a query regarding data in a first block, and receiving results for the query regarding the data in the first block comprising an incomplete record. The method further comprises sending, to a second data node, a query regarding data in a second block comprising the incomplete record, the second block being stored on a different physical device than the first block, and receiving results for the query regarding the data in the second block. The method further comprises outputting the results for the queries regarding the data in the first block and the data in the second block.

Abstract: Examples are described that enable a sales notification application executing on the mobile device to provide an indication of a better price for a product. In the examples, product information may be obtained from product purchase receipts uploaded by mobile devices executing an instance of a sales notification application. Similarities may be determined between the product information received from each product purchase of the plurality of product purchases. The product information from each of the uploaded receipts may be aggregated based on the determined similarity between the product information. A selected product and a location at which the selected product has been purchased previously may be received for comparison to the aggregated information in a product purchase database. A comparison result may be output to the sales notification application. A payment card may be enabled to purchase the selected product.

Abstract: A method for generating a prosodic representation includes receiving a text utterance having one or more words. Each word has at least one syllable having at least one phoneme. The method also includes generating, using a Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers (BERT) model, a sequence of wordpiece embeddings and selecting an utterance embedding for the text utterance, the utterance embedding representing an intended prosody. Each wordpiece embedding is associated with one of the one or more words of the text utterance. For each syllable, using the selected utterance embedding and a prosody model that incorporates the BERT model, the method also includes generating a corresponding prosodic syllable embedding for the syllable based on the wordpiece embedding associated with the word that includes the syllable and predicting a duration of the syllable by encoding linguistic features of each phoneme of the syllable with the corresponding prosodic syllable embedding for the syllable.

  • Publication number: 20210347715
Abstract: Phenyl rings provide a robust scaffold for molecular design, given the limited number of ring carbon atoms and the fixed geometry in between. However, it can be difficult to form highly substituted phenyl rings suitable for covalent attachment of multiple moieties thereto. Moreover, binding phenyl rings to a surface in a fixed geometry may be difficult. Hexasubstituted benzenes having certain structural features may alleviate the foregoing difficulties by providing versatile groups for further functionalization and surface attachment. Such hexasubstituted benzenes may have a structure of in which each X is independently Cl, Br or N3, and each Z is independently —CH(Br)CH3, —CH(N3)CH3, —CH?CH2, —CH2CH3, —CH2CH2SiR?3 (R?=hydrocarbyl), or Alternating groups in the hexasubstituted benzenes may be directed toward opposite faces of the phenyl ring, such that orthogonal reactive groups are directed toward the opposite faces. Certain groups may facilitate surface attachment of the hexasubstituted benzenes.

Abstract: This document describes techniques and apparatuses for performing listen-before-talk procedures on bandwidth parts. These techniques include a user equipment (UE) initiating a first listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure on an active bandwidth part used in a radio resource control (RRC) connection between a UE and a base station. During the first LBT procedure, the UE receives a configuration message from the base station instructing the UE to change the active bandwidth part from the first bandwidth part to a second bandwidth part. Responsively, the UE changes the active bandwidth part and initiates a second LBT procedure on the second bandwidth part.
