Abstract: An end-cap assembly for a ball bat or other sporting-good implement includes one or more removable weights, so that the weight of the end cap—and of the ball bat—may be adjusted. The one or more weights may reside in a receiving space or recess in an end-cap cup of the end-cap assembly. A fastener removably attaches the one or more weights to the end-cap cup. In some embodiments, the fastener may include threads that engage threads in a bore in the end-cap cup.

Abstract: A wireless device receives configuration parameters of cells grouped in a secondary physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) group comprising: a PUCCH secondary cell with a secondary PUCCH; and a secondary cell. A command indicating activation of the secondary cell is received during a first subframe. transmission of channel state information for the secondary cell is started from a second subframe that is a positive number plus eight subframes after the first subframe. In response to activation of the PUCCH secondary cell being completed in or after eight subframes after the first subframe, the positive number is based on when activation of the PUCCH secondary cell is completed.
Abstract: A device for secluding a body vessel may include a distal balloon, a proximal balloon, an aspiration port positioned adjacent to the distal balloon, an injection port positioned adjacent to the proximal balloon, and a lumen assembly. The lumen assembly may comprise a central lumen, a distal balloon lumen operably coupled to the distal balloon, a proximal balloon lumen operably coupled to the proximal balloon, an aspiration port lumen operably coupled to the aspiration port, and an injection port lumen operably coupled to the injection port. The distal balloon and the proximal balloon may define a treatment chamber therebetween, and the aspiration port and the injection port may be positioned within the treatment chamber on the lumen assembly.
Abstract: A geolocationing system and method for providing awareness in a multi-space environment, such as a hospitality environment or educational environment, are presented. In one embodiment of the geolocationing system, an array of gateway devices is provided. Each gateway device includes a gateway device identification providing an accurately-known fixed location within the multi-space environment. Each gateway device includes a wireless transceiver that receives a beacon signal from a proximate wireless-enabled personal locator device. The gateway devices, in turn, send gateway signals to a server, which determines estimated location of the wireless-enabled personal locator device with transmitted signal strength modeling.

Abstract: A measurement system includes an optical probe that has a reflective prism structure, an input system, and an output system. The reflective prism structure comprises at least two mirrored surfaces on opposing sides of an axis which extends in a direction towards a target. The input system is positioned to receive and direct source light towards one of the mirrored surfaces which is positioned to reflect the source light towards the target. The output system is positioned to receive and output converging light from reflected light that comprises measurement data related to the target. The reflected light is the source light reflected from the target via the other one of the mirrored surfaces and is without substantial overlap with the source light.

Abstract: A lighting device has a power interface and a control circuit in communication with a program and the LEDs to simulate a flame. The program determines a first group of LED control integers to simulate a perpetual middle with a perpetual middle center and a perpetual middle range within which one or more of the LEDs are to be at least partially actuated. At least one LED is actuated based on the first group of LED control integers. A first target for simulating movement of the perpetual middle center toward the first target and a first acceleration value is defined. The program determines a second group of LED control integers based on the first target and the first acceleration value such that the perpetual middle center becomes closer to the first target. One or more of the LEDs is actuated based on the second group of LED control integers.
Abstract: Methods, systems, apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for a user device to learn offline voice actions. In one aspect, the method includes actions of detecting, by the user device, an utterance at a first time when the user device is connected to a server by a network, providing, by the user device, the utterance to the server using the network, receiving, by the user device and from the server, an update to the grammar of the user device, detecting, by the user device, a subsequent utterance of the utterance at a second time when the user device is not connected to the server by a network, and in response to detecting, by the user device, the subsequent utterance of the utterance at the second time, identifying, by the user device, an operation to perform based on (i) the subsequent utterance, and (ii) the updated grammar.

Abstract: An apparatus may comprise a circuit configured to receive first underlying data corresponding to a first signal and receive a second signal corresponding to second underlying data. The circuit may determine an interference component signal based on the first underlying data corresponding to the first signal and a first channel pulse response shape for the first signal, determine estimated decisions corresponding to the second signal based on the second signal, and determine an estimated signal based on the estimated decisions corresponding to the second signal and a second channel pulse response shape for the second signal. The circuit may then generate a remaining signal based on the estimated signal and the second signal, generate an error signal based on the interference component signal and the remaining signal, and adapt one or more parameters of the first channel pulse response shape based on the error signal.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an electro-optical modulator system having a source laser which generates an input optical signal. The input optical signal is received by an electro-optical module. The electro-optical module is implantable into an anatomy and includes a plurality of pixels. Each pixel has associated therewith an electrode and an optical modulator subsystem. The electrode receives electrical signals from the anatomy. The optical modulator subsystem receives the input optical signal and modulates the input optical signal to generate modulated optical output signals in relation to the received electrical signals. A detector subsystem may be used to receive and collect the modulated optical output signals.

Abstract: Described are a system and method that utilize bioelectric signaling to balance electrical potentials in a subject's body via neuro-hormonal circuit loops, to increase elasticity of the subject's arteries to promote protein release to dampen arterial blood pressure, and to change arterial electrical charges to reduce narrowing of the arteries. The described system is designed to localize and stimulate the fibers inside the vagus nerve without inadvertent stimulation of non-baroreceptive fibers causing side effects like bradycardia and bradypnea. The system also controls release of specific proteins known to lower blood pressures including tropoelastin (known to increase elasticity in the aorta and other peripheral blood vessels).
Abstract: The present disclosure provides programmable osmotic-controlled oral compositions providing delayed release of a therapeutically acceptable amount of a drug. In certain embodiments, the programmable osmotic-controlled compositions of the disclosure provide a lag time that is independent of the presence or absence of food, type of food, pH, gastric emptying, and volume of gastric fluid. The programmable osmotic-controlled oral compositions of the disclosure comprise a multilayer core comprising a drug for controlled release, wherein the core is coated with a semipermeable membrane comprising an orifice and, optionally, an immediate release coating, comprising a drug for immediate release, over the semipermeable membrane. The multilayered core comprises a pull layer containing the drug and a push layer.

In one example embodiment, a computer implemented method includes identifying an operating mode of an autonomous vehicle. The method includes determining one or more vehicle input devices to be disabled based at least in part on the operating mode of the autonomous vehicle. The vehicle input devices are located onboard the autonomous vehicle. The method includes disabling the one or more vehicle input devices based at least in part on the identified operating mode of the autonomous vehicle such that an input by a user with respect to the one or more vehicle input devices does not affect an operation of the autonomous vehicle.
