Abstract: An indexing valve system includes a first tubular having an outer surface portion, an inner surface portion defining a passage portion, and a plurality of indexing components. A second tubular is axially aligned with the first tubular. The second tubular includes an outer surface section, an inner surface section defining a passage section, and a plurality of indexing members that selectively inter-engage with the plurality of indexing components. The inner surface section including a plurality of indexing elements. An insert extends into, and is axially shiftable relative to, the passage portion and the passage section. Abstract: Memory of a storage system is made available (i.e., exposed) for use as host memory of a host, for example, as an extension of the main memory of the host. The host may be directly connected to an internal fabric of the data storage system. Portions of the storage system memory (SSM) may be allocated for use as host memory, and this may be communicated to the host system. The host OS and applications executing thereon then may make use of the SSM as if it were memory of the host system, for example, as second-tier persistent memory. The amount of SSM made available may be dynamically increased and decreased. The SSM may be accessed by the host system as memory; i.e., in accordance with memory-based instructions, for example, using remote direct memory access instructions. The SSM may be write protected using mirroring, vaulting and other techniques.

Abstract: An access point that selectively provides a multicast domain name system (mDNS) message is described. During operation, the access point may receive an mDNS message, where the mDNS message includes an identifier of a group (such as a user group). For example, the identifier of the group may be included in the mDNS message when the mDNS message includes discovery information for a service. Moreover, the identifier may specify the portion of a subnet in a wireless local area network (WLAN) in a geographic region, such as a room, a floor or a building. Then, the access point may determine whether the access point or an electronic device is included in the group. When the access point or the electronic device is in the group, the access point may selectively provide the mDNS message addressed to the electronic device. Otherwise, the access point may drop the mDNS message.

The link arms are attached to torsion components that are affixed to both the fixed frame portion and moving frame portion with the moving frame portion located between ends of the fixed frame portion. The moving frame portion has a resting position where the torsion components are at rest and a displaced position where external forces have caused the torsion components to move. The moving frame portion can be displaced through rotation or vertical movement by external forces.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are various embodiments of methods and systems for drilling a wellbore into an oil or gas production zone to prevent formation damage in the reservoir using underbalanced or near-balanced drilling techniques, wherein a jet pump drilling assembly is used to create a vacuum around the drill bit. The design of this jet pump drilling assembly prevents the flow of all drilling/power fluid from entering a drill bit Only fluids from the reservoir are allowed to enter the drill bit. The assembly includes a barrier to ensure that no drilling/power fluid discharged from the jet pump located above the drill bit can flow back around to the jet pump jet pump suction ports located in the drill bit thus preventing any drilling/power fluid from ever contacting the drill bit.

Abstract: A pulse analysis system or method includes a frequency filter that receives an ultrafast pulse under test and disperses the pulse under test over a frequency range. The frequency filter separates the pulse under test into component frequency slices and provides the frequency slices to a detector coupled to a digitizer, which processes the digitized signal and collects a sonogram characteristic of the pulse under test. The frequency slices are arranged to overlap. Ptychography is performed on the sonogram to obtain characteristics of the pulse under test.

  • Publication number: 20210342008
Abstract: This document describes techniques and systems for radar-based gesture-recognition with context-sensitive gating and other context-sensitive controls. Sensor data from a proximity sensor (108) and/or a movement sensor (108) produces a context of a user equipment (102). The techniques and systems enable the user equipment (102) to recognize contexts when a radar system (104) can be unreliable and should not be used for gesture-recognition, enabling the user equipment (102) to automatically disable or “gate” the output from the radar system (104) according to context. The user equipment (102) prevents the radar system (104) from transitioning to a high-power state (1910) to perform gesture-recognition in contexts where radar data detected by the radar system (104) is likely due to unintentional input. By so doing, the techniques conserve power, improve accuracy, or reduce latency relative to many common techniques and systems for radar-based gesture-recognition.
