Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to apparatus and methods for making up and evaluating tubular threaded connections. A tong assembly may be used for making up threaded connections. A threaded connection may be made up automatically by controlling the rotation speed of the tong assembly according to measurements of torque, turns, and/or time. After a threaded connection is made up, measurements of time, torque, and/or turns may be corrected based on operating parameters. The corrected measurements may be evaluated for indications of failure, such as discontinuity, torque spikes, and torque drops. The threaded connection is then accepted or rejected based on the evaluation.

Abstract: In some embodiments, a location of a mobile terminal is determined by obtaining a location of a first access point (AP), receiving a visibility indication indicating that a second AP received a signal from the first AP or the first AP received a signal from the second AP, determining a location of the second AP based on the received visibility indication and the location of the first AP, determining a location of the mobile terminal in communication with the second AP based on the determined location of the second AP, and transmitting a message indicating the location of the mobile terminal on a digital communication network.

Abstract: Methods, systems, apparatuses, and computer program products are provided for generating a tabular model. An event model is generated that comprises a plurality of events and one or more dependencies between each event. For instance, the events and dependencies may be identified through interaction with a graphical user interface (GUI), such as an event studio. A plurality of dimensions is mapped to each event and event records are obtained related to the event model. A presentation database is generated for the event model. Using the presentation database, a tabular model may be generated. In some implementations, the tabular model may be stored and/or presented as a tabular cube in a platform for analyzing transactional data.
Abstract: An improved system to provide a clothing model in augmented reality and/or virtual reality is disclosed. In one embodiment, the system provides a fully simulated garment, on the user's device, in an augmented reality or virtual reality display. In one embodiment, the process uses a parameterized smart garment model which enables real-time interaction with the garment on a device such as a mobile phone or tablet, with limited memory and processing power. In one embodiment, the system permits nearly instantaneous alteration of garment sizes. Because the garment is modeled to accurately reflect physical details, the lay of the garment changes as the size of the garment or body changes.

Abstract: A system for data sharing between a first user and a second user includes a memory and a processor. The processor is configured to execute instructions stored in the memory to associate a unique identifier with a first profile of the first user, the first profile includes user data; obtain, from a second device of the second user, a sensed identifier; and, in response to the sensed identifier matching the unique identifier of the first user, execute instruction to send, to the first user, a first request to share first user data of the first user with the second user; and receive, from the first user, a response to the first request to share the first user data of the first user with the second user. The sensed identifier is captured by a sensor of the second device.
Abstract: A method begins with a server in a data communication system establishing an initial validity of an exchange item that includes data regarding a quantifiable value, a serial number, and issuance information, where the initial validity authenticates the exchange item and the data. The method continues with the server executing a secure custody protocol to establish that a first computing device has secure custody of the exchange item and to maintain validity of the exchange item. The method continues with the server transferring the secure custody of the exchange item from the first computing device to the server or to a second computing device. When the exchange item is in the secure custody of the server the method continues with the server modifying the data of the exchange item to produce a modified exchange item and transferring secure custody of the modified exchange item to the first computing device.
Abstract: An apparatus for gas-assisted electrosurgery having a gas-assisted electrosurgical probe comprising a tube and an electrode within said tube, wherein a distal end portion of said electrode extends from an opening at a distal end of said tube and an electrically insulating tip connected to a distal end of said electrode. The electrically insulating tip has a substantially hemispherical distal end portion having a radius r1 and a proximal portion having a circular cross-section and a central axis of a length l1, wherein l1>r1.
Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods are described for wireless communications. A wireless device may distribute power for various transmission types based on a priority, which may be received from a base station.
Abstract: A mold, punch and workpiece are provided. In a preferred embodiment, a tapering outer edge is provided, along with a plurality of rib sets arranged circumferentially about the outer edge, and a ramp. A ramp may be located to facilitate the removal of burrs. Various slot patterns may be provided or formed, including star-shapes/Torx® slots. Using the present invention, a driver bit may be more securely fit to the slot of a screw, for example, allowing the screw to be threaded into a machined part more securely and smoothly, reducing rocking, shaking or tilt.

Abstract: Sensors, sensor controllers, and sensor control methods may employ an echo-magnification technique to improve threshold-based echo detection. In one illustrative embodiment, a sensor controller includes: a transmitter, a receiver, and a processing circuit coupled to the transmitter and to the receiver. The transmitter drives a piezoelectric element to generate acoustic bursts. The receiver senses a response of the piezoelectric element to echoes of each acoustic burst. The processing circuit is operable to apply echo-detection processing to the response by: identifying an interval of the response representing at least a portion of a potential echo; deriving a modified response from the response by selectively magnifying the response during said interval; and using the modified response to detect an echo.
Abstract: A keeper apparatus engaged to the lower free end swinging corner portion of a gate, not to either of the upper and lower corner portions having the axis on which the gate swings, and not to the upper free end swinging corner portion where the gate has a main latch. The keeper apparatus joins the shortened ends of a horizontal gate support member and a vertical gate support member where, prior to engaging the keeper apparatus on the shortened ends, such intentionally manufactured shortened ends are free and spaced from each other.

Abstract: According to various embodiments, systems and methods for wirelessly transmitting energy to a moving wireless power receiver in a network of interlinked prescribed paths. A position of a wireless power receiver in a network of interlinked prescribed paths is tracked as the wireless power receiver traverses one or more prescribed paths in the network of interlinked prescribed paths. Energy is wirelessly transmitted from one or more wireless power transmitters to the wireless power receiver based on the position of the wireless power receiver in the network of interlinked prescribed paths. Specifically, the energy is wirelessly transmitted to the wireless power receiver based on the position of the wireless power receiver in the network of interlinked prescribed paths as the wireless power receiver traverses the one or more prescribed paths in the network of interlinked prescribed paths.

Abstract: This document describes techniques and devices for non-line-of-sight radar-based gesture recognition. Through use of the techniques and devices described herein, users may control their devices through in-the-air gestures, even when those gestures are not within line-of-sight of their device's sensors. Thus, the techniques enable users to control their devices in many situations in which control is desired but conventional techniques do permit effective control, such as to turn the temperature down in a room when the user is obscured from a thermostat's gesture sensor, turn up the volume on a media player when the user is in a different room than the media player, or pause a television program when the user's gesture is obscured by a chair, couch, or other obstruction.
Abstract: A production host includes a persistent storage and a backup manager. The persistent storage stores virtual machine data and a service group list associated with an application service group. The backup manager obtains a backup generation request for the application service group that includes virtual machines, and each of the virtual machines uses a copy of the virtual machine data; in response to obtaining the backup generation request: identifies a first virtual machine the virtual machines that is prioritized for generating a backup for the application service group based on the service group list; attempts to generate the backup using the first virtual machine and the copy of the virtual machine data; and stores the backup in backup storage.
