Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes accessing a first distortion definition for a first color component of a collection of pixels and a second distortion definition for a second color component of the collection of pixels; casting, from a viewpoint in a 3D space, a first bundle of rays for the first color component in accordance with the first distortion definition; computing a first set of intersection locations between the cast first bundle of rays and an object in the 3D space; determining, based on the first and second distortion definitions, that a difference between distortions of the first and second color components satisfies a predetermined threshold; estimating, using the first set of intersection locations, a second set of intersection locations on the object for the second color component; and determining color values for the collection of pixels based on the first and second sets of intersection locations.

Abstract: In a flip-chip LED assembly having an array of LEDs formed on the same substrate, different LEDs of the array have different distances to the n-contacts of the assembly. This may cause current crowding as current has to spread from the n-contacts through the substrate to each the farthest LEDs of the LED array, requiring LEDs that are farther away to be driven with a higher voltage in order to receive a desired amount of current. To spread current more evenly through the LED assembly and reduce a voltage difference between the closest and farthest LEDs of the array, one or more additional n-contacts are formed within the LED array. In some embodiments, the n-contacts may replace a pixel of the LED array. In other embodiments, one or more p-contacts of the LED array are resized or repositioned to accommodate the additional n-contacts without sacrificing pixels of the LED array.

Abstract: An augmented reality system includes a first scene and a second scene. Further, the augmented reality system includes a partially reflective surface positioned relative to the first scene, the second scene, and an audience to facilitate viewing of one of the first scene or the second scene through the partially reflective surface and to facilitate reflection of the other of the first scene or the second scene toward the audience as augmented reality imagery. A sensor of the augmented reality system is designed to detect and generate data indicative of a characteristic of the first scene, and a correlative effect system is operable to receive the data and adjust the second scene based thereon.

Abstract: A firearm can have a bolt having a plurality of locking lugs that are configured to have a shear area that is larger than that of a standard M16/M4. A bolt carrier can have a bolt that has a double cut cam having an unlocking cam surface that has sufficient dwell increase to delay a start of unlocking when the bolt carrier is used in an M4 carbine. A stepped extractor pin may be provided that prevents disengagement of the extractor pin. A tube can be configured to provide gas from a barrel of the firearm to the piston via the carrier key. The tube can have a heat radiator formed from triangular shaped threads on at least a portion of the tube. A piston on the bolt and can have a plurality of rings including pairs of mating rings that are formed and maintained as a matched pair.

Abstract: Apparatus for a drill powered wire puller are disclosed. In an embodiment the drill powered wire puller includes a center plate, a cradle plate, a housing, a support, the support including a receiver, and a capstan. The center plate is coupled with the cradle plate at a proximal end. The cradle plate includes a U-shaped notch and two hooks or catches which are configured to couple the cradle plate with a powered rotary tool, such as a drill. The right side of the center plate is coupled with a housing, the left side of the center plate is coupled with a support. The left side of the support is coupled with a capstan. The outer perimeter of the capstan includes notches that define at least one “cleat” shape in the outer perimeter.

Abstract: A method of making a fibrous sheet. The method includes forming a nascent web from an aqueous solution of papermaking fibers, moving a dewatered web on a transfer surface, and applying a vacuum at a molding zone defined between the transfer surface and a molding roll. The molding roll includes a permeable patterned surface on an exterior of the molding roll. The method also includes transferring the dewatered web from the transfer surface to the permeable patterned surface at the molding zone. The vacuum is applied during the transferring of the dewatered web, and the papermaking fibers of the dewatered web are (i) redistributed on the permeable patterned surface and (ii) drawn into a plurality of recess of the permeable patterned surface, in order to form a molded paper web. The method further includes drying the molded paper web in a drying section to form a fibrous sheet.

Further, the interface elements are subject to different transformations.

Abstract: Providing dynamic selection of cache coherence protocols in processor-based devices is disclosed. In this regard, a processor-based device includes a master PE and at least one snooper PE, as well as a central ordering point (COP). The COP dynamically selects, on a store-by-store basis, either a write invalidate protocol or a write update protocol as a cache coherence protocol to use for maintaining cache coherency for a memory store operation by the master PE. The selection is made by the COP based on one or more protocol preference indicators that may be generated and provided by one or more of the master PE, the at least one snooper PE, and the COP itself. After selecting the cache coherence protocol to use, the COP sends a response message to each of the master PE and the at least one snooper PE indicating the selected cache coherence protocol.

Abstract: The present invention provides an integrated health care surveillance and monitoring system that provides real-time sampling, modeling, analysis, and recommended interventions. The system can be used to monitor infectious and chronic diseases. When faced with outbreak of an infectious disease agent, e.g., influenza virus, the system can identify active cases through pro-active sampling in high risk locations, such as schools or crowded commercial areas. The system can notify appropriate entities, e.g., local, regional and national governments, when an event is detected, thereby allowing for proactive management of a possible outbreak. The system also predicts the best response for deployment of scarce resources.

Abstract: A search request may define a minimum value and a maximum value for a numerical parameter of the search. A plurality of binary searches may identify a minimum entry and a maximum entry, each binary search comprising selecting a single entry and using at least one analytical model to generate a score for the single entry, wherein the score of the minimum entry corresponds with the minimum value and the score of the maximum entry corresponds with the maximum value. The at least one analytical model may be used to generate a score for each of a set of entries between the minimum entry and the maximum entry while ignoring entries outside of the set of entries between the minimum entry and the maximum entry. Entries responsive to the request may be identified within the scored set of entries.

The processor identifies the one or more user interface elements and one or more controls displayed in the second user interface of the second platform, and provides the one or more controls and at least one of the one or more user interface elements of the post displayed in the second user interface for presentation within the first user interface of the first platform. Further, upon election of one of the one or more controls, the processor causes a user to be presented with the post within the second user interface.

Abstract: Load management systems and methods are described. A load management system comprises a database storing load information, a mobile application associated with a user account and executable on a mobile device. The mobile application includes a main application and independently executable sub-applications corresponding to workflow progresses in the distribution center. The mobile application when executed, accesses the sub-applications in response to a user logging in to the main mobile application. The sub-applications inherit credentials from the main application and communicate with each other in response to inheriting the credentials.
