Abstract: An optical waveguide comprises one or more upstream diffraction gratings in addition to overlapping first and second downstream diffraction gratings. The one or more upstream diffraction gratings include a first upstream diffraction grating configured to receive display light and to release the display light expanded along a first axis. The first and second downstream diffraction gratings are configured to receive the display light expanded along the first axis and to cooperatively release the display light further expanded along a second axis. The first downstream diffraction grating is arranged on a planar face of the optical waveguide and is further configured to further expand along the first axis the display light expanded along the first axis.

Abstract: The disclosure describes a distributed, pluggable architecture for an artificial reality (AR) system that enables concurrent execution and collaborative scene rendering for multiple artificial reality applications. For example, an AR system includes an image capture device configured to capture image data representative of a physical environment. The AR system also includes a head-mounted display (HMD) configured to output artificial reality content. The AR system further includes a plurality of concurrently executing artificial reality client applications. The AR system also includes a concurrent application engine configured to control rendering the artificial reality content as a common scene that include one or more objects from each of the plurality of artificial reality applications.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide an improvement over known approaches for monitoring of and taking action on observations associated with distributed applications. Application event reporting and application resource monitoring is unified in a manner that significantly reduces storage and aggregation overhead. For example, embodiments of the present invention can employ hardware and/or software support that reduces storage and aggregation overhead. In addition to providing for fine-grained, continuous, decentralized monitoring of application activity and resource consumption, embodiments of the present invention can also provide for decentralized filtering, statistical analysis, and derived data streaming. Furthermore, embodiments of the present invention are securely implemented (e.g., for use solely under the control of an operator) and can use a separate security domain for network traffic.

Abstract: An ear tip for a hearing device includes a body member having a receiver retention portion that is communicably coupled to a sound port. The receiver retention portion is configured to receive and capture a receiver such as a balanced armature receiver. An electrical interface of the receiver is accessible via an opening in the receiver retention portion. The ear tip also includes an ear interface portion that is disposed at least partially about the body member. The ear interface portion is configured to be disposed in a user's ear canal. The ear interface portion and the body member are integrally formed as a unitary member.

Abstract: A method includes obtaining foot force data that is created by sampling, in accordance with a sampling signal, data from pressure sensing elements of a shoe sensor system. The method further includes obtaining three-dimensional foot data that is created by sampling, in accordance with the sampling signal, data from an accelerometer of the shoe sensor system. The method further includes correlating the foot force data and the three-dimensional foot data in accordance with the sampling signal to produce correlated foot data. The method further includes processing the correlated foot data to determine one or more of: distance traveled during a time period, stride length data, time duration, fatigue indication, injury prevention indicators, elevation tracking for the time period, running optimization, and rotational sport optimization.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to dirt and anti-microbial resistant articles that include a substrate, a powder coating applied to the substrate, the powder coating may include a cross-linked polymeric binder. The powder coating may include a blend of metal borate and a sulfur-containing benzimidazole compound, wherein the metal borate and sulfur-containing benzimidazole compound are present in a weight ratio ranging from about 75:1 to about 10:1. The powder coating may include fluorosurfactant and a fluorosurfactant may be applied to the powder coating in an amount ranging from about 0.01 g/m2 to about 4 g/m2. The powder coating may be formed using a liquid-based fluorosurfactant.

Abstract: A rotating equipment system with in-line drive-sense circuit (DSC) electric power signal processing includes rotating equipment, in-line drive-sense circuits (DSCs), and one or more processing modules. The in-line DSCs receive input electrical power signals and generate motor drive signals for the rotating equipment. An in-line DSC receives an input electrical power signal, processes it to generate and output a motor drive signal to the rotating equipment via a single line and simultaneously senses the motor drive signal via the single line. Based on the sensing of the motor drive signal via the single line, the in-line DSC provides a digital signal to the one or more processing modules that receive and process the digital signal to determine information regarding one or more operational conditions of the rotating equipment, and based thereon, selectively facilitate one or more adaptation operations on the motor drive signal via the in-line DSC.

Abstract: A method for object recognition includes, at a computing device, receiving an image of a real-world object. An identity of the real-world object is recognized using an object recognition model trained on a plurality of computer-generated training images. A digital augmentation model corresponding to the real-world object is retrieved, the digital augmentation model including a set of augmentation-specific instructions. A pose of the digital augmentation model is aligned with a pose of the real-world object. An augmentation is provided, the augmentation associated with the real-world object and specified by the augmentation-specific instructions.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods, systems, and processes to share data storage-related services between multiple deduplication systems. In one embodiment, the method comprises receiving an indication that a local file corresponds to a shared file; virtually segmenting the shared file into a plurality of data segments, where virtually segmenting the shared file generates data segment fingerprints and library virtual mapping metadata, and the library virtual mapping metadata comprises fingerprint information corresponding to each of the plurality of data segments, and at least one of a unique file identifier, an offset of each data segment, and a size of each data segment; and transmitting the library virtual mapping metadata, where the library virtual mapping metadata is configured to be used in a subsequent deduplication operation.

Abstract: Metals, such as mercury, may be removed from aqueous, hydrocarbon, or mixed oilfield or refinery fluids by: applying a sulfur compound having the general formula HS-X, wherein X is a heteroatom substituted alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, and/or alkylaryl group either alone or in combination with or as a blend with at least one demulsifier, a buffering agent, a pour point depressant, and/or a water clarifier to chelate the at least one metal and form a chelate complex of the sulfur compound with the at least one metal and then separating the chelate complex from the fluid.

Abstract: A hockey skate includes a fiber-reinforced, composite frame, or an injected plastic frame, including a boot form and integral pedestals that serve as a blade-holder. The pedestals are integral with the bottom of the boot sole and are optionally spaced relatively far apart to provide a long span between them. An optional bridge assembly may be used to connect the blade to the pedestals. The bridge assembly may provide increased stiffness and vibration damping, as well as customized fit options.

Abstract: Example systems and methods are disclosed for implementing vehicle operation limits to prevent vehicle load failure during vehicle teleoperation. The method may include receiving sensor data from sensors on a vehicle that carries a load. The vehicle may be controlled by a remote control system. The load weight and dimensions may be determined based on the sensor data. In order to prevent a vehicle load failure, a forward velocity limit and an angular velocity limit may be calculated. Vehicle load failures may include the vehicle tipping over, the load tipping over, the load sliding off of the vehicle, or collisions. The vehicle carrying the load may be restricted from exceeding the forward velocity limit and/or the angular velocity limit during vehicle operation. The remote control system may display a user interface indicating to a remote operator the forward velocity limit and the angular velocity limit.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-executable instructions for guiding program synthesis includes receiving a specification that includes an input and output example. Programs are synthesized that meet the specification. During synthesizing each of the programs includes branching decisions. Each branching decision includes a plurality of paths. Synthesizing the programs comprises includes selecting a first score model, for a first branching decision. Each of the programs is scored using the first score model. The paths of the first branching decision are pared based on the score. One the paths is selected. A synthesized program that meets the specification is returned. The synthesized program includes the one of the paths.

Abstract: An antimicrobial medical device that includes a substrate having a metal surface that is made from a metal or metal alloy that may include stainless steel, cobalt, and titanium. Disposed on the metal surface is a first antimicrobial oxide layer that includes an antimicrobial metal that may include silver, copper, and zinc, and combinations thereof. The atoms of antimicrobial metal in the first antimicrobial oxide layer are of a first concentration. The first antimicrobial oxide layer is positioned in a direction opposite that of the metal surface. The device further includes a second antimicrobial oxide layer that includes an antimicrobial metal that may be silver, copper, and zinc, and combinations thereof. The atoms of the antimicrobial metal present in the second antimicrobial oxide layer are of a second concentration. The first concentration and the second concentration are not equal. Methods for making the antimicrobial medical device are also disclosed.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are compositions and methods for treating a victim of a venomous snakebite. Antivenom compositions are prepared from snake plasma or from snake eggs. The antivenom compositions are able to neutralize a snake venom from an autologous snake. The antivenom compositions can be administered to a snakebite victim to treat or prevent the pathological effects of a venomous snakebite.

Abstract: Methods and associated light management system variously provide protection of at least UPF 50, a cooling effect, a shading effect, a warming effect and a source for a photovoltaic device. A textile material absorb incident spectrum including one or more of a UV wavelength, a visible wavelength, and a near infrared wavelength and spontaneously emits light having an emission spectrum including visible light radiation and near infrared radiation. The textile material and associated articles have a high degree of UV blocking property due to strong absorption in the UV range. In addition, the spontaneous emission releases most of the absorbed energy and, therefore, the textile material remains relatively cool under sunlight, the shading effect. Furthermore, the strong spontaneous emission allows for shielding properties even when the apparel is made from otherwise sheer knit or weave structure. Associated application methods and manufacture methods are also disclosed.
