Abstract: A system for synchronizing a target device to a cardiac cycle, including: (a) a target device that collects data or performs an operation that is to be timed to the cardiac cycle; (b) a signaling device that emits a signal indicating the occurrence of a cardiac contraction and/or ECG feature; and (c) a calibration device that determines the relationship of the signal from the signaling device to the actual cardiac cycle. In operation, the calibration device calculates a time offset between the timing of the cardiac contraction as determined by the signaling device and the timing of the cardiac contraction and/or ECG feature as determined by the calibration device, and then provides the time offset to the target device.

An interposing structure of the first conduit structure and the second conduit structure may physically isolate the additive material from the first conduit, such that the additive material is configured to release the additive into the air flow directed through the second conduit independently of the generated vapor directed through the first conduit.

Abstract: The present disclosure is in the field of pharmaceutical compositions suitable for the treatment of diseases in mammals. The disclosure provides novel compositions comprising non-pathogenic fecal microbes for treating irritable bowel syndrome and related diseases. The disclosure also provides methods for treating a subject with the compositions disclosed herein.

Abstract: A method, computer program, and computer system is provided for synthesizing speech at one or more speeds. A context associated with one or more phonemes corresponding to a speaking voice is encoded, and the one or more phonemes are aligned to one or more target acoustic frames based on the encoded context. One or more mel-spectrogram features are recursively generated from the aligned phonemes and target acoustic frames, and a voice sample corresponding to the speaking voice is synthesized using the generated mel-spectrogram features.

Abstract: Disclosed is a telecommunications antenna having a plurality of cloaked low band (LB) and high band (HB) dipoles. The LB and HB dipoles provide cloaking by breaking the dipoles into dipole segments, and providing conductive cloaking elements over the gaps between dipole segments to form a plurality of capacitors along the dipole. The capacitors along the LB dipoles provide a low impedance to LB RF signals and a high impedance to HB signals. The capacitors formed on the HB dipoles provide a low impedance to RF signals and high impedance to harmonics of the LB RF signals. This cross-cloaking of dipoles enables more dense arrangements of LB and HB dipoles on an antenna array face, providing opportunities to arrange, for example, the LB dipoles with an array factor that results in an advantageous fast roll off gain pattern.

Abstract: Provided is a textile made of filament yarn comprising a polymer composition that is durable and reusable having permanent or near-permanent antiviral properties and that includes a polymer, a metal ion, preferably a zinc and/or copper ion, and an optional phosphorus compound, wherein fibers and/or fabric formed from the polymer composition demonstrate antiviral properties and wherein the polymer is hygroscopic. The present disclosure also describes methods of forming the polymer compositions and methods of preparing fibers from the polymer composition.

Abstract: An image sensor may include an array of image pixels coupled to analog-to-digital conversion circuitry. To reduce space on the integrated circuit on which the image sensor is formed, the analog-to-digital conversion circuitry may have at least some portions that are shared between columns of the array of image pixels. In particular, individual delta-sigma modulators may be coupled to each column of the pixels to convert the charge generated by the pixels into digital bits, and shared accumulator circuitry may convert the digital bits into a digital signal. The shared accumulator circuitry may use pre-determined weights to reduce the number of required accumulation steps, and sequentially process the bits corresponding to two or more columns of the pixels. The digital signal may be stored in a shift register to further reduce the area required for the analog-to-digital conversion circuitry.

Abstract: A hitch assist system for a vehicle is provided herein. The hitch assist system includes a sensing system configured to detect a hitch assembly and a coupler. A controller is configured to determine an offset between the hitch assembly and the coupler. The controller is further configured to generate a command for maneuvering the vehicle forward based on the offset exceeding an offset threshold. The controller is further configured to generate a command for subsequently maneuvering the vehicle rearward along an alignment path. The controller is configured to prompt termination of the forward maneuver of the vehicle based on a determination that alignment of the hitch assembly with the coupler is feasible via execution of the alignment path.

Abstract: An apparatus and a method for controlling operation of a vehicle includes a controller having a processor and a tangible, non-transitory memory. The vehicle includes a park assembly with a park actuator motor having an actuator shaft. The vehicle has a park mode and an out-of-park mode. The controller is configured to determine if the park actuator motor has reached an out-of-park position when a shift command to the out-of-park mode is received. The controller is configured to obtain and store at least one dynamic parameter associated with the park actuator motor prior to the detent member reaching the out-of-park position. The method includes determining a load factor based on the dynamic parameter over time when at least one of a predefined time threshold and a predefined motor position threshold is reached. Operation of the vehicle is controlled based at least partially on the load factor.

The crisis management and notification system provides critical information to the first responders, including initial location of the crisis and whether the crisis location has changed in real time, audio and video input of the crisis arena, communications with designated occupants in the crisis arena, static building or location information, and other information. The crisis notification system can be scaled to allow the effective use in facilities of differing sizes and layouts. The system includes a 3D parallax barrier screen having an opaque layer with a series of slits formed therethrough. The barrier screen is formed to position over a device display screen. Also included is a software application that, upon receiving a distance between a viewer and the barrier screen, progressively performs cross-pixel manipulation. Abstract: A computer is programmed to identify a target vehicle to be monitored and to identify first and second virtual boundaries on a roadway based on a position of the target vehicle. The computer is further programmed to determine a first constraint value based on (1) a first boundary approach velocity and (2) a first boundary approach acceleration and a second constraint value based on (1) a second boundary approach velocity and (2) a second boundary approach acceleration.
