  • Patent number: 11113832
Abstract: Example embodiments allow for training of artificial neural networks (ANNs) to generate depth maps based on images. The ANNs are trained based on a plurality of sets of images, where each set of images represents a single scene and the images in such a set of images differ with respect to image aperture and/or focal distance. An untrained ANN generates a depth map based on one or more images in a set of images. This depth map is used to generate, using the image(s) in the set, a predicted image that corresponds, with respect to image aperture and/or focal distance, to one of the images in the set. Differences between the predicted image and the corresponding image are used to update the ANN. ANNs tramed in this manner are especially suited for generating depth maps used to perform simulated image blur on small-aperture images.

  • Patent number: 11114809
Abstract: A monitoring device may receive sensor information, associated with an optical device included in a high-power fiber laser, from a set of sensors associated with the optical device. The monitoring device may determine, based on the sensor information, a set of operational properties of the optical device. The set of operational properties may include: a health property that describes a health of one or more components of the optical device, a degradation property that describes degradation of one or more components of the optical device, an environmental property that describes an environment of the optical device, or a process property associated with a process in which the optical device is being used. The monitoring device may identify whether an operational property, of the set of operational properties, satisfies a condition, and may selectively perform a monitoring action based on whether the operational property satisfies the condition.

  • Patent number: 11115861
Abstract: Wireless networks, such as 5G (and future 6G) networks, can recognize opportunities to enhance message performance by analyzing fault types in real-time, and selecting an appropriate mitigating modulation table accordingly. Noise patterns causing adjacent-amplitude faults and adjacent-phase faults indicate the need for different modulation schemes, while the large non-adjacent faults from pulsed external interference lead to yet a different choice. Disclosed examples show how to select an appropriate mitigating modulation table through fault analysis of failed messages. By selecting and switching to different modulation tables according to the types of message faults experienced by user messages, network operators can reduce message failure rates and increase overall throughput while reducing average delay per message, according to some embodiments.

  • Patent number: 11113901
Abstract: A system includes a processor configured to determine a vehicle-specific parameter including a vehicle-specific modifier for modifying a vehicle-state reporting trigger. The processor is further configured to detect an occurrence of the vehicle-state reporting trigger that has been modified based on the vehicle-specific parameter, such that the reporting trigger triggers a report based on a different vehicle-state than an unmodified predefined version of the reporting trigger. Also, the processor is configured to report the occurrence to an occupant, responsive to the detection.

  • Patent number: 11109772
Abstract: Devices and methods are disclosed which relate to the detection of cardiovascular efficiency and risk of disease. The rate of volumetric change of the heart can be determined by measuring the parallel conductance across electrodes attached to the heart. Measurements from a lumen would consider the total conductance. The rate of volumetric or lumen cross-section area change can then be compared to an average model to determine the health of a patient.

  • Patent number: 11113846
Abstract: In some embodiments, a method determines a plurality of classes of bins that are used to determine a context model for entropy coding of a current block in a video. The method calculates a first value for a first class of bins in the plurality of classes of bins and calculates a second value for a second class of bins in the plurality of classes of bins. The first value for the first class of bins is weighted by a first weight to generate a weighted first value and the second value for the second class of bins is weighted by a second weight to generate a weighted second value. The method then selects a context model based on the first weighted value and the second weighted value.
