Abstract: A prior art powered wrist pin knocker is improved with a new plunger that prevents wobbling. The new plunger responds to a return vacuum pressure. The improved plunger is symmetrical along a longitudinal axis. New embodiments include a new side mount valve head to reduce length, a remote air controller and a variable length cylinder for the cannon. The new valve head is a simplified valve head assembly that adapts to an end of the cannon mount or a side mount or a remote mount. Another embodiment provides a stand for a surface mount application. This embodiment can have an extended piston for loosening tail bearings down a long channel. A manual return embodiment can use a rod to manually return the plunger to the proximal end for another firing cycle.
Abstract: The described technology is generally directed towards efficiently organizing data in a single, non-distributed database as an associated array of key-value pairs implemented on top of a storage medium that allows only data appends. A table segment in an append-only storage medium is accessed by table keys. The table keys are hashed into key values used to access information in an attribute index (a search tree) that contains offsets to the table segment entries. Hashing the table keys can result in a series of hash parts, including a primary hash part corresponding to a node in the attribute index, and as needed in the event of hash collisions, secondary hash parts that map to child nodes in the attribute index.
Abstract: Methods and systems directed to a user equipment accessing a wireless-communication cell are described. The methods and systems include a user equipment (110) selecting (805) a first wireless-communication cell (306) and receiving (815), from a base station (124) providing the first wireless-communication cell (306), a first system information block (SIB). Based on contents of an entry within the SIB that indicate a core network type of the first wireless-communication cell (306), the user equipment (110) selects (825) a second wireless-communication cell (304) and receives (835), from a second base station (122) providing the second wireless-communication cell (304), a second SIB.
Abstract: A method of dynamically adjusting sizes of cache partitions includes, for each cache partition, estimating a number of hits that would occur on the cache partition for a set of potential size increases of the cache partition and a set of potential size decreases of the cache partition. Based on these estimates, a determination is made for each cache partition, whether to increase the size of the cache partition, maintain a current size of the cache partition, or decrease the size of the cache partition. Cache partition size increases are balanced with cache partition size decreases to allocate the entirety of the cache to the set of cache partitions without over allocating cache resources and while optimizing a sum of total cache hit rates of the set of cache partitions. A set of data structures is used to efficiently determine the estimated hit increases and decreases for each cache partition.

Abstract: Systems and methods for filtering dairy may filter milk with a wide-pore filter to produce a wide-pore retentate and a wide-pore permeate, wherein the wide-pore retentate may comprise casein and beta-lactoglobulin. The systems and methods may further ultra-filter the wide-pore permeate to produce an ultra-filtered retentate and an ultra-filtered permeate, wherein the ultra-filtered retentate comprises alpha-lactalbumin. The systems and methods may further nano-filter the ultra-filtered permeate to produce a nano-filtered retentate and a nano-filtered permeate, wherein the nano-filtered retentate comprises lactose. The systems and methods may further perform reverse osmosis (RO) on the nano-filtered permeate to produce a reverse osmosis retentate and a reverse osmosis permeate.
Abstract: A method for automated ransomware identification includes receiving a first series of data items for backup from a host system, identifying, using a heuristic, a first characteristic of the first series of data items, receiving a second series of data items for backup from the host system, identifying, using the heuristic, a second characteristic of the second series of data items, detecting that the second characteristic differs from the first characteristic in a manner consistent with a ransomware infection, and invoking a recovery procedure responsive to the detecting.

Abstract: A motorized aquatic toy having a body with an attached articulated tail formed of pivotally connected hollow tail segments that maintain directional stability when water is flowing through and around them and having forward offset pivot points with mechanical stops that force contiguous tail segments to pivot in sequence from fore to aft in response to yawing of the body to simulate a life-like pattern of movement with a high level of realism.
Abstract: A downhole mud filter (100) comprising a tubular member (1) connectable to the drill string used to prevent debris-laden fluid from entering sensitive BHA tools and components further downhole relative to the mud filter. A tubular member having a sub assembly consisting of a bristle rings (6) and/or rupture (7) to intentionally create a restriction and divert debris-laden fluid around a cylindrical mesh (2) and/or screen surrounded by permanent magnets (3). The openings (9) on the mesh and/or screen allow fluid to pass through while preventing particulates or debris from entering and retaining such debris on the outside of the screen and/or mesh. Magnets (3) arranged around the outer diameter of the screen and/or mesh (2) and along its length captures and retains smaller ferrous debris which the screen and/or mesh cannot filter.
