Abstract: The object of the present invention is to improve production efficiency of lithium hydroxide anhydride in a method for producing lithium hydroxide anhydride from lithium hydroxide hydrate by using a rotary kiln. The method for producing lithium hydroxide anhydride comprises steps of: supplying the lithium hydroxide hydrate to a region between a heating part which is the part of the furnace core tube surrounded by the heating furnace and one end of the furnace core tube; delivering the supplied lithium hydroxide hydrate toward the other end of the furnace core tube; feeding a drying gas with a temperature of 100° C. or higher to the region between the one end and the heating part of the furnace core tube, when the lithium hydroxide hydrate is supplied; and heating and dehydrating the lithium hydroxide hydrate by the heating furnace which is set to 230-450° C. during the lithium hydroxide delivering step, to form lithium hydroxide anhydride.

Abstract: Processes and apparatuses for alkylating aromatic hydrocarbons with an alkylating reagent to produce an alkylated aromatic product are described. The processes and apparatuses use a riser reactor operated at a superficial velocity of 10 m/s to 25 m/s to produce the alkylated aromatic product. In some embodiments, a combination of steam and aromatic hydrocarbon is used to lift the catalyst.

Abstract: A stream hosting server generates anchors associated with a live stream, each anchor specifying a timestamp of the live stream that represents an opportune moment for a user to join the live stream. When a viewer client device sends a request to join the live stream, the stream hosting server analyzes the anchor list and selects an appropriate anchor. The stream hosting server provides the live stream to the viewer client device beginning at the timestamp specified by the anchor. Thus, the viewer client device can begin displaying the live stream at the opportune moment specified by the anchor. The stream hosting server also creates video on demand content that include a completed live stream as well as anchors associated with the live stream. The viewer client device can display the VOD beginning at different anchors.

Abstract: A mechanized lifter system for retrofitting a manually operated lifer system includes a support located relative to the spa tub, a first mount rotatable on the support and defining a first pivot axis, at least one support element rotatable about the first pivot axis and attached to the first spa cover portion, a second mount on the support and defining a second pivot axis, an angle arm having a first portion and a second portion connected at a vertex, the first portion attached to the first mount and the second portion attached to the second mount, a support element bracket fixedly attached to the support element, a linear actuator configured to extend and retract and pivotally attached to the vertex of the angle arm and the support element bracket, and an actuator controller coupled to and configured to control extension and retraction of the linear actuator.

Abstract: The present invention relates to compositions and methods comprising resveratrol and uses thereof. Some embodiments include compositions and methods with increased bioavailability of resveratrol. Certain embodiments include compositions comprising resveratrol and a solubilizer. Particular embodiments include transmucosal delivery of resveratrol from the composition.

Abstract: A method of laser spot welding a workpiece stack-up that includes at least two overlapping steel workpieces, at least one of which includes a surface coating, is disclosed. The method includes directing a laser beam at the top surface of the workpiece stack-up to create a molten steel weld pool that penetrates into the stack-up. The molten steel weld pool is then grown to penetrate further into the stack-up by increasing an irradiance of the laser beam while reducing the projected sectional area of the laser beam at a plane of the top surface of the workpiece stack-up. Increasing the irradiance of the laser beam may be accomplished by moving a focal point of the laser beam closer to the top surface or by reducing an angle of incidence of the laser beam so as to reduce the eccentricity of the projected sectional area of the laser beam.

Abstract: Systems and methods for producing aerogel materials are generally described. In certain cases, the methods do not require supercritical drying as part of the manufacturing process. In some cases, certain combinations of materials, solvents, and/or processing steps may be synergistically employed so as to enable manufacture of large (e.g., meter-scale), substantially crack free, and/or mechanically strong aerogel materials.

Abstract: A storage system comprises a disk array enclosure comprising at least one enclosure controller, a plurality of data storage devices and at least one metadata storage device. The enclosure controller is configured to receive a write operation comprising data to be stored on at least one of the plurality of data storage devices and to determine a logical identifier for the data. The enclosure controller is further configured to determine a physical location on the at least one of the plurality of data storage devices for storing the data and to store the data at the physical location. The enclosure controller is further configured to update metadata stored on the at least one metadata storage device based at least in part on the physical location and the logical identifier and to return the logical identifier as a response to the received write operation.

Abstract: Exemplary systems and methods to improve capture of relationships within information are provided. In various embodiments, a system comprises a landmark module configured to choose a set of landmarks from data in a finite metric space, the set of landmarks being a subset of points in the finite metric space, a nearest neighbor module configured to compute, for each landmark, a predetermined number of nearest neighbor landmarks in the set of landmarks, a graph construction module configured to identify at least one pair of landmarks that are nearest neighbors to each other, an edge generator module configured to add an edge between the at least one pair of landmarks, and a non-landmark projection module configured to project non-landmark points based on the landmarks and one or more edges thereby enabling at least one shape to indicate relationships in the data.

Abstract: Joke recognition methods include using server(s) coupled with data store(s) to communicatively couple with a first computing device through a telecommunications network. A first communication is provided to a user through a user interface of the first computing device or is received through the user interface. A second communication is provided to the user through the user interface or is received through the user interface. In response to providing or receiving the second communication, the server(s) determine whether the second communication, relative to the first communication, includes a joke and/or a punchline. Upon determining that the second communication includes a joke and/or a punchline, the server(s) initiate sending one or more responses to the first computing device. The response(s) initiate providing, through the user interface, an indication to the user that the second communication is recognized as a joke/punchline. Systems for joke recognition provide the disclosed joke recognition methods.

Abstract: The invention relates to a component group for a vehicle body, having a headlamp housing, which has at least one connecting portion integrally formed in one piece for connection to an adjoining body part, and a predetermined breaking point for separation of the connecting portion from a neighboring portion. To minimize both the repair costs in the event of a collision at low speed in the region of the headlamp and also the costs for production and assembly, it is provided according to the invention that the neighboring portion has connecting structures for connection to a joining part with which the connecting portion is replaceable after its separation.

Abstract: An LED module includes a substrate having a high thermal conductivity and at least one LED die mounted on the substrate. A wavelength conversion material, such as phosphor or quantum dots in a binder, has a very low thermal conductivity and is formed to have a relatively high volume and low concentration over the LED die so that the phosphor or quantum dots conduct little heat from the LED die. A transparent top plate, having a high thermal conductivity, is positioned over the wavelength conversion material, and a hermetic seal is formed between the top plate and the substrate surrounding the wavelength conversion material. The LED die is located in a cavity in either the substrate or the top plate. In this way, the temperature of the wavelength conversion material is kept well below the temperature of the LED die. The sealing is done in a wafer level process.

Abstract: Provided herein are oral pharmaceutical compositions comprising amantadine, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and a pharmaceutically acceptable excipient, and which have a low level of organic solvent. Provided are also methods of orally administrating a composition comprising amantadine, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, to a subject, which has reduced gastrointestinal side effects or sleep disturbances. Further provided are extended release oral compositions comprising amantadine, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, that are suitable for once daily administration.

In some embodiments, a system for adapting a water softener with a serial communication port for communication with a user via a remote server, an internet connection, and internet enabled device is provided, the system comprising: a wireless gateway device connected to a router; and a wireless adapter connected to the serial communication port, comprising: a gateway node; a transceiver; and a processor programmed to: establish a wireless connection with the wireless gateway; receive a first message from the water softener; cause the gateway node to modify the first message; cause the first modified message to be transmitted to the remote server via the wireless gateway; receive a second message from the remote server; modify the second message for output to the water softener; and transmit the second modified message to the water softener.

Abstract: Described is a micro-haptic actuator device that can be fabricated with roll-to-roll MEMS processing techniques. The device includes a first body having a first surface and a second, opposing surface, the body has a chamber defined by at least one interior wall, a piston member disposed in the chamber, physically spaced from the at least one interior wall of the chamber, the piston member having a first surface and a second opposing surface. A membrane layer is disposed over and attached to the first surface of the body, with a portion of the membrane attached to the first surface of the piston member. The device also includes a first electrode supported on a second surface the membrane, and a second body that supports a second electrode, with the second body attached to the second surface of the first body.
