Patent number: 11080129Abstract: Read error mitigation in solid-state memory devices. A solid-state drive (SSD) includes a read error mitigation module that monitors one or more memory regions. In response to detecting uncorrectable read errors, memory regions of the memory device may be identified and preemptively retired. Example approaches include identifying a memory region as being suspect such that upon repeated read failures within the memory region, the memory region is retired. Moreover, memory regions may be compared to peer memory regions to determine when to retire a memory region. The read error mitigation module may trigger a test procedure on a memory region to detect the susceptibility of a memory region to read error failures. By detecting read error failures and retirement of a memory regions, data loss and/or data recovery processes may be limited to improve drive performance and reliability.Type: GrantFiled: December 27, 2019Date of Patent: August 3, 2021Assignee: SEAGATE TECHNOLOGY LLCInventors: Mehmet Emin Aklik, Antoine Khoueir, Darshana H. Patent number: 11080272Abstract: Entity resolution techniques for matching entity records from different data sources are provided. In one technique, an entity record from a source database is identified along with multiple data items included therein. Each data item corresponds to an attribute of multiple source attributes. For one of the data items that corresponds to a first source attribute, multiple target attributes are identified. A first query is generated that includes the data items and associates the data item with each of the multiple target attributes. A second query that is different than the first query is also generated. Two searches are performed of a target database: one based on the first query and the other based on the second query. A scoring model generates multiple scores, one for each search result. It is determined whether the entity record matches an entity record in the target database based on the set of scores.Type: GrantFiled: June 28, 2019Date of Patent: August 3, 2021Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Yang Chen, Liang Zhang, Haifeng Zhao, Jiashuo Wang, Aparna Krishnan, Anand Kishore, Chencheng Wu, John P. Patent number: 11079100Abstract: The partially lit T-bar includes a spine with a rest shelf at a lower portion thereof. The rest shelf supports adjacent ceiling tiles. The under surface of the rest shelf includes a lighting module on a portion and a plain unlit undersurface on other portions. Additional T-bars which are shorter, and typically fully lit or fully unlit and half the length of the partially lit T-bar are also provided which can attach at ends or near a midpoint of the partially lit T-bar and typically perpendicularly thereto. A great variety of lighting patterns in a dropped ceiling is thus facilitated. Each of the T-bars preferably also includes a heat sink on an upper portion of the spine and also preferably a lower heat sink on an upper portion of the rest shelf.
