Abstract: Methods to in-situ monitor production of additive manufacturing products collects images from the deposition process on a layer-by-layer basis, including a void image of the pattern left in a slurry layer after deposition of a layer and a displacement image formed by immersing the just-deposited layer in a renewed slurry layer. Image properties of the void image and displacement image are corrected and then compared to a binary expected image from a computer generated model to identify defects in the just-deposited layer on a layer-by-layer basis. Additional methods use the output from the comparison to form a 3D model corresponding to at least a portion of the additive manufacturing product. Components to control the additive manufacturing operation based on digital model data and to in-situ monitor successive layers for manufacturing defects can be embodied in a computer system or computer-aided machine, such as a computer controlled additive manufacturing machine.

  • Publication number: 20210173694
Abstract: A secondary pool of VMs is used to run secondary services or jobs, which may be evicted upon failure of a corresponding primary VM. Upon detection of a failure of a primary resource, the secondary services or jobs are evicted from secondary pool resources, and the secondary pool resources can be automatically allocated to the jobs of the failed primary resource. In this regard, a secondary job may be thought of as a preemptible job and comprises services or jobs that are lower priority than the service or job on the primary resource. By using computing resources in the secondary pool to run secondary or preemptible jobs, this technology makes use of what would be otherwise idle resources. This beneficially avoids having to allocate additional and separate computing resources for secondary jobs, leads to more efficient use of network resources, and reduces costs.

Abstract: A non-volatile storage apparatus is configured to perform erase verify during an erase process in order to account for differences in erase speed. In order to reduce the time used to perform the erase process (which includes the erase verify), the erase verify operation is skipped for certain memory cells based on a system parameter. For example, when erasing a block of memory cells, a series of erase voltage pulses are applied to the NAND strings in outer sub-blocks and inner sub-blocks of the block. Erase verify is performed between erase voltage pulses for NAND strings in the outer sub-blocks while skipping erase verify for NAND strings in the inner sub-blocks. Performing erase verify between erase voltage pulses for NAND strings in the inner sub-blocks is started at a predetermined number of erase voltage pulses after the NAND strings in the outer sub-blocks successfully erase verify.

The anchoring system has movable/expandable jaw portions that can expand vertically (i.e., upward and downward relative to the respective superior and inferior surfaces of the cage) so that the cage can be more securely implanted in position. The superior and inferior expandable portions of the anchoring system move vertically by the rotation of one or more spindles that is incorporated in the jaw mechanism (and/or by the rotation of a lead screw that is incorporated in the cage). In some embodiments, the medical implant (such as a cage) is itself non-expandable (i.e., the height of the medical implant does not change).
