Abstract: A mass selective ion trapping device includes a linear ion trap and a RF control circuitry. The ion trap includes a plurality of trap electrodes configured for generating a quadrupolar trapping field in a trap interior and for mass selective ejection of ions from the trap interior. The RF control circuitry is configured to apply a balanced AC voltage to the trap electrodes during a first period of time such that an AC voltage applied to a first pair of trap electrodes is of the same magnitude and of opposite sign to an AC voltage applied to a second pair of trap electrodes; apply unbalanced RF voltage to the second pair of trap electrodes during a second period of time; ramp the balanced AC voltage down and the unbalanced RF voltage up during a transition period; and eject ions from the linear ion trap after the second period of time.
Abstract: A restraint system includes an inflator, an airbag inflatable by the inflator and having an exterior surface, and a fabric tunnel attached on the exterior surface of the airbag and elongated from a sealed end to an open end. The tunnel is fluidly isolated from the inflator. The tunnel is oriented relative to the airbag so that the open end is aimed in a direction of motion during inflation of the airbag.

Abstract: Use of measurement system and detection module with a burr instrument for surgical procedures. The measurement system may include sensors (e.g., displacement, acceleration, and/or force sensors) that may be utilized to detect potentially hazardous operation of the burr instrument. For example, when penetrating through the cortex of the bone the measurement system may be operated in a unicortical mode such that when the burr passes through the cortex of the bone, the instrument operating may be arrested to avoid damage to surrounding tissue. Moreover, the system may be utilized to detect a slip or sudden loss of contact of the burr instrument such that the instrument may be arrested to avoid damage to surrounding tissue. Furthermore, the burr instrument may have a predetermined ramp-up speed.

Abstract: A vehicle lamp assembly includes, a lamp housing defining an interior cavity and an exterior surface, a circuit board disposed within the interior cavity, the circuit board including a memory device, microprocessor and a connector for establishing a communication link with the memory device and the microprocessor. A vent opening within the lamp housing aligned with the connector on the circuit board and a permeable membrane is attached over the vent opening. Abstract: Systems and methods for allocating resources are disclosed. Resources as processing time, writes or reads are allocated. Credits are issued to the clients in a manner that ensure the system is operating in a safe allocation state. The credits can be used not only to allocate resources but also to throttle clients where necessary. Credits can be granted fully, partially, and in a number greater than requested. Zero or negative credits can also be issued to throttle clients. Segment credits are associated with identifying unique fingerprints or segments and may be allocated by determining how many credits a CPU/cores can support. Abstract: An electric drive unit for powering a load, e.g., road wheels of a motor vehicle, includes a housing having a floor section separating the housing into upper and lower chambers. The floor section defines an elongated drain opening, drain holes, and an oil supply port in fluid communication with an oil pump. A rotary electric machine is enclosed within the lower chamber, and has electrical leads positioned directly below the drain opening. A cover assembly is fastened to the housing within the upper chamber, and has a coolant channel assembly integrally connected to a cover plate. The coolant channel assembly includes electrical terminals that project through the drain opening and are fastened at a first distal end of the electrical terminals to the electrical leads. The cover assembly defines a primary coolant channel in fluid communication with the oil supply port, and directs oil to the electrical terminals.
