Abstract: Various components and subcomponents of a pluggable modular system for electrical junction boxes are described herein. In various embodiments, a jbox interface chassis is configured to be wired and fastened within an electrical junction box to provide a hot-swappable pluggable interface between the wires in the electrical junction box and each of a plurality of hot-swappable pluggable modular devices. The jbox interface chassis may include a front pluggable interface configured to electrically mate with a corresponding rear pluggable interface on a casing of each pluggable modular device. As an example, the jbox interface chassis may include a plurality of slots or holes to receive a corresponding plurality of blades or pins on the casing of each pluggable modular device. Additionally, device adapters are described herein to convert a wide variety of legacy electrical devices into pluggable modular devices.

Abstract: Various embodiments are generally directed to techniques for network strengthening, such as by detecting issues with one or more network components and reconfiguring one or more upstream or downstream network components to preempt issues with the one or more upstream or downstream network components, for instance. Some embodiments are particularly directed to a tool (e.g., strengthening agent) that implements pre-scripted or dynamic hardening of up and downstream dependencies of a network component in response to an issue identified with the network component. In many embodiments, up and downstream components of a network component may be reconfigured while the issue with the network component is being addressed to preempt issues with the up and downstream components.

Abstract: A system and method for calibrating and controlling an active dampening system for a chassis of a vehicle having an engine involve operating the engine in a cylinder deactivation mode and, during the cylinder deactivation mode, (i) receiving, from a set of sensors, measured vibrations on first and second frame rails of the chassis, (ii) generating control signals for a set of actuators based on the measured vibration of the first and second frame rails, each actuator being configured to generate a vibrational force in at least one direction, and (iii) outputting, to the set of actuators, the control signals, wherein receipt of the control signals cause the set of actuators to generate vibrational forces that dampen the vibration of the first and second frame rails, respectively, to decrease noise/vibration/harshness (NVH).

Abstract: A carton for holding one or more articles includes a plurality of panels that extends at least partially around an interior of the carton and at least partially forming a body portion of the carton. The carton further includes at least one impact-resistant feature extending away from the body portion of the carton.
Abstract: A control system includes a joystick and a computer. The joystick includes a joystick body, a cover hingedly coupled to the joystick body and movable between an open position and a closed position, and an input located on the joystick body. The input is exposed by the cover when the cover is in the open position and concealed by the cover when the cover is in the closed position. The computer is programmed to enter a first mode in response to the cover moving from the open position to the closed position, to enter a second mode in response to both the cover moving from the closed position to the open position and the input being activated, and to remain in a same of the first and second modes in response to the cover moving from the closed position to the open position without the input being activated.

Abstract: A tie-down assembly for selective attachment to a structure at an oblong aperture defined thereby and detachment therefrom includes an anchor arranged along an axis. The anchor has an oblong-shaped section configured to be inserted into the structure's oblong aperture. The anchor also has a knob section which turns the anchor's oblong-shaped section about the axis when a torque is applied to the knob section. The assembly also includes a rail mount configured to abut the oblong-shaped section, and defining a pocket for accepting the knob section and limiting rotation of the oblong-shaped section via contact with the knob section. The anchor's oblong-shaped section and the rail mount are together configured to sandwich therebetween material of the structure proximate the oblong aperture after the anchor's oblong-shaped section is inserted into and turned relative to the oblong aperture to thereby attach the tie-down assembly to the structure.

Abstract: A device provides a variety of fracture fixation options should a fracture occur after total hip arthroplasty or total knee arthroplasty, and provides associated methods and apparatus for application of provided fixation. The ability to pre-engineer fracture fixation contingent solutions into femoral or tibial components provides for a distinct clinical advantage in the planning and execution for periprosthetic fracture fixation. Said methods and apparatus include targeting devices which allow for intimate association of fixed angle locking screws in pre-drilled holes in an existing prosthetic, femoral nail, or other components including additional fixation components. Such apparatus and methods further include the use of alignment devices and other components to allow for ease of repair of fractures utilizing the pre-engineered solutions.

The processing circuitry is further configured to capture a first image via the rear-facing camera and determine that the target product proximate the electronic device is depicted in the first image, and to capture a second image via the front-facing camera and detect a shopper in a vicinity of the electronic device is depicted in the second image. The processing circuitry is further configured to in response to determining that the target product proximate the electronic device is depicted in the first image and detecting that the shopper in a vicinity of the electronic device is depicted in the second image, displaying a message related to the target product.
Abstract: Various embodiments are provided herein for tracking a user's physical environment, to facilitate on-the-fly blending of a virtual environment with detected aspects of the physical environment. Embodiments can be employed to facilitate virtual roaming by compositing virtual representations of detected physical objects into virtual environments. A computing device coupled to a HMD can select portions of a depth map generated based on the user's physical environment, to generate virtual objects that correspond to the selected portions. The computing device can composite the generated virtual objects into an existing virtual environment, such that the user can traverse the virtual environment while remaining aware of their physical environment. Among other things, the computing device can employ various blending techniques for compositing, and further provide image pass-through techniques for selective viewing of the physical environment while remaining fully-immersed in virtual reality.
