Abstract: A computer including a processor is programmed to determine that an object including ferrous material is in a charging field of an inductive charger, actuate the inductive charger, and determine a temperature of the object. The processor is further programmed to determine, based on the temperature, whether the inductive charger is operational.
Abstract: The disclosure generally pertains to a vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft comprising a fuselage and at least one fixed wing. The aircraft may include at least two powered rotors located generally along a longitudinal axis of the fuselage. The rotor units may be coupled to the fuselage via a rotating chassis, which allows the rotors to provide directed thrust by movement of the rotor units about at least one axis. The VTOL aircraft may include instructions to perform a degraded rotor landing protocol. The degraded rotor landing protocol may include adjusting a power to an operable rotor unit to control a rate of descent and/or slow a rate of acceleration toward a landing surface. The VTOL aircraft may be configured to impact the landing surface from a substantially vertical configuration, and adjust a thrust vector to cause the aircraft to come to rest in a generally upright configuration.
Abstract: Synchronous content sharing of media assets via an object data model propagated through a star network or a mesh network. Each user device updates a local object data model including information on the status of the media asset delivery, to achieve synchronization with the source data. Updates to the local object data model may be the result of direct connection between a user device and an application server via a network, or the result of indirect connections through peers in mesh networks, where the local object data model is shared through hops between peers in the mesh network if the direct connection is unavailable.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed herein for opening files via local applications. A first application on a local device receives a request to open a document specified by a user via a user interface associated with the first application, the document having a document identifier and associated with a first file stored on a server. The first application communicates the request to open the document associated with the first file to a second application on the local device, and receives, from the second application, information identifying one of the plurality of document processing applications that are on the local device and are capable of opening a second file that is stored on the local device and has the same document identifier as the document specified by the user, the second file being a local copy of the first file.

Abstract: There is disclosed a portably suspended retractable shelf for storing furniture-side items that includes a horizontal platform having an inner portion and an outer portion. In various embodiments, the inner portion is adapted to be slidably captured between an upper cushion and a lower supporting structure. At least one of a projector insert rotationally adjustable to a plurality of orientations and the following upward-facing compartments is disposed on the outer portion of the horizontal platform and is accessible to a user on the furniture: a collapsible basin, a hanging flexible pocket, and a foldable box. A cutout hole is configured to hold the projector insert or the compartments in a suspended configuration through the shelf. A downward-facing sliding drawer compartment is mounted and/or supported underneath the outer portion of the shelf. A storage container extends from a leading surface of the portable suspended retractable shelf. Other embodiments are also disclosed.
Abstract: In one embodiment, a system generates a plurality of trajectory candidates for an autonomous driving vehicle (ADV) from a starting point to an end point of a particular driving scenario. The system generates a reference trajectory corresponding to the driving scenario based on a current state of the ADV associated with the starting point and an end state of the ADV associated with the end point, where the reference trajectory is associated with an objective. For each of the trajectory candidates, the system compares the trajectory candidate with the reference trajectory to generate an objective cost representing a similarity between the trajectory candidate and the reference trajectory. The system selects one of the trajectory candidates as a target trajectory for driving the ADV based on objective costs of the trajectory candidates.
Abstract: Systems and methods for transcoding media content are disclosed. In some embodiments, the method includes obtaining a transcoded media content that is transcoded from an uploaded media content. The method includes determining a plurality of degradation metric values corresponding to the transcoded media content based on the uploaded media content and the transcoded media content, each degradation metric value corresponding to a different degradation metric type. The method includes mapping each degradation metric value to a respective calibrated score to obtain a plurality of calibrated scores. The method includes determining an aggregated quality score of the transcoded media content based on the plurality of calibrated scores and an exponential weighting function. The exponential weighting function exponentiates each of the calibrated scores by a respective weighting exponent and aggregates the exponentiated calibrated scores.

Abstract: The described implementations relate to an access control framework for a database system. One implementation can receive, from a user, a request for data that identifies a resource, such as a view that obtains data from a database. The implementation can check the identity of the user to identify user roles associated with the user. The implementation can identify an access policy that is associated with the resource, and a rule that is associated with the access policy and applies to the user roles associated with the user. The rule can be applied to the request for data using attributes of the access policy. For example, if the request for data is a query on a view, the query can be rewritten to apply the rule.

Abstract: In some embodiments, noise data may be used to train a neural network (or other prediction model). In some embodiments, input noise data may be obtained and provided to a prediction model to obtain an output related to the input noise data (e.g., the output being a prediction related to the input noise data). One or more target output indications may be provided as reference feedback to the prediction model to update one or more portions of the prediction model, wherein the one or more portions of the prediction model are updated based on the related output and the target indications. Subsequent to the portions of the prediction model being updated, a data item may be provided to the prediction model to obtain a prediction related to the data item (e.g., a different version of the data item, a location of an aspect in the data item, etc.).
