Abstract: A peripheral device with an adaptive scroll wheel can be used to provide additional control of a host computing device. A variable force is used to change friction on the adaptive scroll wheel for different situations. Examples include stopping a scroll wheel at an end of a document, changing a number of ratchet steps based on a number of items on a list, and changing scroll profiles based on application, such as a scroll profile for document processing and a scroll profile for gaming.

Abstract: A keyboard includes a communication module configured to communicatively couple the keyboard to a host computer. The keyboard includes a plurality of keys that are configured to be physically actuated by a user. The plurality of keys can be remapped such that a signal transmitted to the host for a specific key can be changed to a different signal corresponding to a different key. The keyboard can also include an administrative mode that can be accessed in response to the user depressing a series of predetermined keys. While in the administrative mode the user can reconfigure keyboard settings, access debug functions of the keyboard and/or reset memory locations.
Abstract: An input device comprises a depressible element with two switches including a first switch configured to generate a first signal when the depressible element is depressed by a threshold distance and a second switch configured to generate a second signal indicating when the depressible element is depressed by the threshold distance and the second switch is in an active state. One or more processors may be configured to receive the first signal from the first switch; configure the second switch to change from an inactive state to an active state in response to receiving the first signal; receive the second signal from the second switch in the active state; determine whether the second signal indicates that the depressible element is depressed by the threshold distance; and generate event data confirming that the depressible element is depressed by the threshold distance in response to receiving the second signal.

Abstract: Aspects of the invention include an input device comprising a housing having a region, a haptic element coupled to the housing, the haptic element configured to generate a haptic feedback and couple the haptic feedback to the region of the housing, and a force-sensitive element coupled to the housing, the force-sensitive element configured to detect a threshold input force applied-to and removed-from the region of the housing, the force-sensitive element being different from the haptic element. The haptic element may generate a first haptic feedback in response to the force-sensitive element detecting the threshold force being applied to the region of the housing, and the haptic element may generate a second haptic feedback in response to the force-sensitive element detecting the threshold force being removed from to the region of the housing, the first haptic feedback being different than the second haptic feedback.

Abstract: In an embodiment there is provided a user interface device for interfacing a user with a computer, the computer comprising at least one processor to generate instructions for display of a graphical environment of a virtual reality simulation. The user interface device includes a sensor for detecting activation and/or a sensor for detecting proximity of a body part of the user (e.g., hand). At least partially based on detection by one of these sensors, a transition between virtual reality states is triggered.

Abstract: The disclosed technology relates to a lighting system that utilizes an ambient light sensor to detect at least one of a color temperature and intensity of ambient light to set or adjust at least one of an intensity and color temperature of light to be emitted by a plurality of LEDs. The plurality of LEDs include RGB+WW LEDs.
Abstract: The disclosed technology relates to a lighting system that utilizes an ambient light sensor to detect at least one of a color temperature and intensity of ambient light to set or adjust at least one of an intensity and color temperature of light to be emitted by an array of LEDs. The array of LEDs include at least one warm color temperature LED and at least one cool color temperature LED.
Abstract: In some embodiments, an input device includes a housing having a top surface, a touch sensor disposed on the top surface of the housing, and a processor disposed in the housing. The touch sensor can be configured to detect a contact by a hand on the top surface of the housing and generate touch data corresponding to the detected contact by the hand. The processor can be configured to control operation of the touch sensor and receive the touch data, determine an orientation of the hand with respect to the housing based on the touch data, and calibrate a detected movement of the input device based on the determined orientation of the hand with respect to the housing. An image sensor and/or one or more IMUs can be used to detect 2D and/or 3D movement of the input device.

Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure provided herein can be used to improve the control, selection and transmission of data to a remote video conferencing environment, by use of a plurality of wired or wirelessly connected electronic devices. In one example, the transmission of data from a local environment can be improved by switching the source of visual inputs (e.g., cameras or display of an electronic device, such as laptop) and/or audio inputs (e.g., microphones) to the one or more appropriate visual and audio sources available within the local environment. The most appropriate visual and audio sources can be the sources that provide the participants in the remote environment the most relevant data giving the remote users the best understanding of the current activities in the local environment.
