Abstract: An apparatus including a removable modular insert disposed within a housing of a host device, the housing including one or more magnets, and one or more conductive contacts disposed on the removable modular insert to magnetically couple to the one or more magnets and secure the modular insert within the housing of the host device, and electrically couple the modular insert to the host device. A conductive coil can be coupled to the modular insert to electromagnetically receive power from a base device having a surface, where the host device moves and operates along the surface of the base device. The apparatus can include a communication device and a processor to control the communication device for communication between the modular insert and the host device, and control operation of the conductive coil. The communication device further controls the electromagnetic coupling between the modular insert and the base device.

Abstract: In some embodiments, a stylus device can be configured for use in an augmented/virtual reality (AR/VR) environment. The stylus device can be configured to be used differently in a right hand or a left hand of a user. Determination of whether the stylus device is used in the left hand or the right hand can be used to improve tracking of the stylus device for use as a control device for the AR/VR environment.

Abstract: Disclosed are techniques pertaining to wireless dongles that can wirelessly transfer multimedia data (e.g., video and/or audio) between two computer devices. The computer devices can include a source (e.g., a laptop or tablet computer) and a sink (e.g., a television set or projector). The techniques improve the usability and flexibility of such dongles, allowing them to operate with a wide variety of devices.
Abstract: Methods and systems for providing a mixed reality (MR) interaction are provided. In one example, the method comprises: capturing a first image of a user's appendage and a physical peripheral input device, wherein the user's appendage covers at least a part of the physical peripheral input device; performing a segmentation of the first image into a first region of pixels corresponding to the user's appendage, wherein a second region of pixels corresponds to the physical peripheral input device; generating a composite image from the first image based on rendering, in place of the second region of pixels, pixels representing a virtual peripheral input device, such that the virtual peripheral input device appears in the composite image as at a same spatial location as the physical peripheral input device and covered at least partially by the user's appendage; and displaying the composite image to the user.

Abstract: A method and system configured to receive a first report from a computer peripheral device by a receiver, determine that the first report is corrupted or received at a rate slower than the first report rate, compute a current trajectory of the computer peripheral device based on one or more intervals of movement data in the first report, compute a predicted trajectory of the computer peripheral device based on the first report, compute an incremental displacement of the computer peripheral device based on the predicted trajectory. The method and system can further generate data indicative of a position or displacement of the computer peripheral device based on the predicted trajectory of the computer peripheral device and send the data indicative of a position or displacement of the computer peripheral device at an interval that is less than twice a period of the first report rate to the host computing device.
Abstract: A method can include: determining a physical location of each of a plurality of peripheral devices communicatively coupled to a host computing device; generating a lighting sequence configured to activate visual output elements on the each of the plurality of peripheral devices, wherein the lighting sequence is a time based sequence that traverses the plurality of peripheral devices; and modifying a timing parameter of the lighting sequence based on the respective physical location of each of the plurality of peripheral devices. In some cases, modifying the lighting sequence can include: determining a distance between at least two of the plurality of peripheral devices and modifying the timing parameter of the sequential pattern based on the distance between the at least two of the plurality of peripheral devices.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for recording audio information are provided. The method may include: receiving the first audio information from an external source; communicating with a device that is configured to record video information of the object; generating an audio backup data by storing the first audio information in memory as the device starts recording the video information; receiving the second audio information when the device stops recording the video information; determining whether the first audio information matches the second audio information at a predetermined point of time by comparing a first amount of audio data included in the first audio information with a second amount of audio data included in the second audio information; generating synchronized audio information by aligning the first audio information with the second audio information based on the stored first audio information; and transmitting the synchronized audio information.
Abstract: Embodiments described herein relate to earphone device supports and earphone support cases. In embodiments described herein, an earphone support is configured to be securely positioned over an earphone device. The earphone support includes a main body with a supporting element extending therefrom. The supporting element has a curvature shaped to follow a contour of the earphone device such that it clips onto to the earphone device. In additional embodiments described herein, an earphone support case is configured to securely store the earphone supports and mate with an earphone device case. The earphone support case has a main body coupled to a lid by a hinge. The main body includes a plurality of earphone support mounts. Each of the earphone support mounts are configured to support one of a plurality of earphone supports such that each earphone support is securely positioned within the earphone support case.

Abstract: A slider structure for a keyboard comprising a housing, a depressible actuator disposed in the housing, and a chambered track configured to receive a balance bar structure, the balance bar structure operable to provide a structural support that resists a key cap coupled to the frame from tilting as a force applied at any point on the top surface of the key cap. When the depressible actuator is depressed, the depressible actuator is operable to push the balance bar structure causing the balance bar structure to rotate within the chambered track. The frame and depressible actuator are comprised of a rigid material and the chambered track is comprised of a compliant material that attenuates sound caused by the rotating of the balance bar structure within the chambered track.
