  • Patent number: 9752859
Abstract: A method and apparatus for measuring stem nut wear in a valve having a threaded valve stem that is positioned to engage the threads of a stem nut. In a preferred embodiment, a tool is mounted on the stem nut, wherein the tool rotates when the stem nut rotates. The tool indicates a measurement of stem nut rotation. An indicator indicates stem movement. The stem nut is rotated and the amount of percent wear is observed. Rotation continues until the stem begins to move. The tool provides a reading when the stem begins to move that indicates an amount of stem nut wear.

  • Patent number: 9737809
Abstract: A computer system creates, stores, transmits, modifies, and enables users to exchange units of social currency, referred to as “social currency events” (SCEs). Each SCE represents social approval and/or disapproval of a behavior of one or more users by the same user or one or more other users. The users who send and receive an SCE may each assign their own distinct values to it. The computer system may generate various metrics based on one or more SCEs. For example, the computer system may generate a single SCE score for a user based on variables such as the number and value of SCEs the user has sent and received. SCEs may be used to recognize positive and/or negative social behaviors by users of the system, to encourage such users to engage in additional positive social behaviors, and to discourage such users from engaging in additional negative social behaviors.

  • Patent number: 9695528
Abstract: Disclosed is a portable mini loom utilizing a base section having opposed first and second end edges defining an overall length, a first Ends Per Inch (EPI) zone disposed proximate the base first end edge and extending inwardly along a desired length of the base, and a second EPI zone disposed proximate the base second end edge and extending inwardly along a desired length of the base. Each EPI zone preferably utilizes three separate EPI arrays, of differing EPI, capable of permitting a weaver to select one of such EPI arrays to create a thread warp of a predefined EPI, such as, 8, 10 or 12 EPI. One array utilizes slots disposed along the ends of the base capable of receiving the warp thread. The other two arrays comprise separate sets of through holes disposed across the EPI zone each capable of receiving the warp thread.

  • Publication number: 20170162216
Abstract: A system is disclosed for detecting and correlating percussive sounds with previously identified spectral signatures of a plurality of events so as to notify a user of an occurrence of a particular event. The system may include a sensor component which includes a piezoelectric transducer at a periphery of the sensor component for coupling with a surface and converting percussive sounds from the surface into an electrical signal. The sensor component may also include a local processor configured to produce a data signal based on the electrical signal, and a communication device for sending the data signal to a remote processor. The system may also include a remote processor configured to receive the data signal and compare the data signal to at least one reference signal, and send a notification to a user based at least in part on the data signal correlating to at least one reference signal.

  • Patent number: 9644277
Abstract: An electrolyzer or unitized regenerative fuel cell has a flow field with at least one channel, wherein the cross-sectional area of the channel varies along at least a portion of the channel length. In some embodiments the channel width decreases along at least a portion of the length of the channel according to a natural exponential function. The use of this type of improved flow field channel can improve performance and efficiency of operation of the electrolyzer device.

  • Patent number: 9549575
Abstract: A sleeve material retaining loop is attached to or looped around a strap of a brassiere to retain gathered sleeve material or other items. One end of the sleeve material retaining loop extends out of the neck hole of the outer garment, and another end of the loop extends out of the arm hole of the sleeve above the shoulder of the wearer. The first and second ends of the sleeve material retaining loop are attached at the shoulder of the wearer to retain the sleeve. This helps prevent the sleeve from interfering with the wearer's movement and improves evaporative cooling of the wearer. A sleeve retaining loop storing mechanism stores the loop. Each sleeve retaining loop may be formed of separate interchangeable pieces that are attached to the brassiere. An additional piece of clothing may also be secured to a fastener on the brassiere.

  • Publication number: 20160380935
Abstract: A message creator encodes message information into an original message. The message creator transmits the original message to a message recipient via a first medium. The message recipient receives the original message and decodes the original message to extract the encoded message information. The message recipient adds and/or modifies an attribute of the original message and re-encodes the message information in a modified message. The computer system transmits the modified message as if it were transmitted from the message creator to the message recipient. One attribute that the message recipient may modify is the message medium. As a result, the modified message may be transmitted via a different medium than the original message.

  • Patent number: 9366038
Abstract: A system of reusable absorbent mats that are secured or interlocked to one another and secured to the floor of an industrial, commercial, garage, workshop, or manufacturing facility thereby reducing the possibility that the absorbent mats could bunch up or slip. The absorbent mats of the absorbent floor system are secured to the floor and to one another to provide a stable and secure walking surface. The absorbent mats can be layered to accommodate high oil leaking areas. The absorbent floor mat system can wick oil, grease, coolant and/or other fluids throughout the entire floor to provide a safe walking zone for industrial and manufacturing facilities. Individual absorbent mats can be swapped out as they become fully saturated prior to a full reinstallation. When the absorbent mats are removed from the floor of the facility, they can be cleaned and recycled.
