Abstract: A method and apparatus for measuring stem nut wear in a valve having a threaded valve stem that is positioned to engage the threads of a stem nut. In a preferred embodiment, a tool is mounted on the stem nut, wherein the tool rotates when the stem nut rotates. The tool indicates a measurement of stem nut rotation. An indicator indicates stem movement. The stem nut is rotated and the amount of percent wear is observed. Rotation continues until the stem begins to move. The tool provides a reading when the stem begins to move that indicates an amount of stem nut wear.

Abstract: A moisture absorptive and perspiratory cloth structure comprising a cloth substrate comprised of a fabric being made from a moisture absorbent fiber and a moisture or water repelling layer applied to a surface of the cloth substrate. The moisture or water repelling layer comprising a water repelling agent and having patterns formed of or configured with hollow lines. The moisture repelling layer on the cloth substrate has moisture repelling capability and the patterns formed with the hollow lines in intervals have better exhaust and breathability effects. The cloth substrate being made of a fabric having good water absorption so that it can be broadly used on all kinds of articles including but not limited to clothing.
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for facilitating manufacturing of aircraft parts, the method comprising: gathering from a user, via a first computer, the user's aircraft information; gathering, via the first computer, a specification for an aircraft part; soliciting, via a second computer, at least one quotation from a supplier to supply the aircraft part; and ordering the aircraft part based on the quotation from the supplier.
Abstract: An apparatus, computer program product, and method are disclosed for internet advertising. The apparatus includes an offer module, a publishing module, a posting module, and a linking module. The offer module visually presents one or more promotions to a first user in response to a first user entering a first purchasing context. The promotions contain offers. The publishing module, in response to an acceptance of the offer, creates at least one advertisement which comprises a link to a second purchasing context. The posting module posts the advertisement to a loop creation location. The linking module detects user input corresponding to the advertisement and displays the second purchasing context.
Abstract: The present invention relates to the recycling of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE). Preferably, the present invention relates to the substantial recycling of all material forming the WEEE, thus providing substantially zero landfill. In yet another form, the invention relates to an additive and/or method of providing an additive. In still another form, the invention relates to recycling ink, toner, and/or PU foam from imaging consumables, forming part of the WEEE. In another form, the invention relates to the recycling of plastic materials containing flame retardants, including the recycling of plastics materials, such as plastics materials containing brominated flame retardants generally based on styrenics (e.g. PS, HIPS, ABS, PPO/PS, PPE/PS, ABS/PC) and polyamides (Nylon 6, nylon 6,6, nylon 12) and other engineering plastics such as polyacetal, polycarbonate, PET, PBT, liquid crystal polymers.

Abstract: A medication, method and device for cardiac treatment are provided, in particular, for treating supraventricular arrhythmias. Specifically, a method is provided for treating supraventricular arrhythmias, using a therapeutically effective amount of a cholinergic receptor agonist, for example, acetylcholine. This device may be part of universal device which provides pacing and defibrillation. In particular, the present invention can be used to treat atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter and atrial tachycardia by a bolus injection of a rapidly hydrolysable cholinergic receptor agonist such as acetylcholine.

Abstract: A sensor in a bathroom continuously senses the humidity level therein at periodic intervals and provides the sensed humidity values to a processor, which stores the sensed values and continuously calculates an average humidity value over a time period. The processor continuously checks if the current sensed value exceeds an upper threshold value related to the calculated average humidity value and, if so, turns on an exhaust fan. Once the upper threshold value has been exceeded, the processor continuously checks if the current sensed value has dropped below a lower threshold value related to the calculated average humidity value and, if so, turns off the exhaust fan and, if not, leaves the exhaust fan on for a period of time. If the processor is not controlling the exhaust fan in the on position, a user can manually activate a switch to turn on the exhaust fan for a certain period of time.

Abstract: A necklace-eyeglass system includes a plurality of links each having a first shape. An eyeglass frame is connected to the plurality of links and includes a lens holding portion holding a lens in a lens opening thereof. The lens holding portion has a second shape. The first shape and the second shape are a same shape.
Abstract: The disclosed embodiments relate to a toothbrush and methods of making and using it, wherein an elongated body has a bristle brush head portion and a handle portion. The body is composed of flexible material so that the handle portion can be grasped in the hand of the user, and the user can flex the elongated body into a substantially rigid position for teeth brushing purposes.
Abstract: The invention provides a method and apparatus for recycling toner cartridges. A shredder breaks up the toner cartridges into pieces, thereby releasing any toner from within the otherwise substantially sealed cartridges. The toner pieces along with any free toner powder are then fed through a separation stage including a mechanical separator and a trommel separator. Each separator employs a sifting screen, which allows smaller particles to fall through the screen while holding back the larger pieces. Both separators agitate the pieces to mobilize the smaller particles. A vacuum extraction system is used to withdraw air from around the cartridge pieces and an air ionizer is included for feeding ionized air into the apparatus to reduce any static electronic charge buildup. The toner is then removed from the extracted air by a dust collector.

Abstract: A method for configuring an interface device and a protection device in a digital communication system. The interface device has a first port for communicating with other devices, the first port being in a high-impedance state when the interface device fails. The protection device has a second port for replacing the communication of the interface device when the interface device fails, the second port being in a high-impedance state when the protection device is not in the replacing state. The primary winding of a first transformer is in series connection with the first port, and the primary winding of a second transformer is in series connection with the second port. The secondary winding of the first transformer and the secondary winding of the second transformer are connected in parallel. The resultant configuration makes the system simplified, compact, economic and easy for maintenance.
