Abstract: A hinge mounting plate assembly enables mounting on a frame of an article of furniture a door of the article of furniture. The assembly includes a hinge arm which is pivotally mounted to a hinge casing and a mounting plate which is mountable on the frame and securable thereto by a screw. The hinge casing is insertable into a hole in the door. The hinge arm is mounted on the mounting plate by two intermediate members. A first intermediate member is mounted on the mounting plate for longitudinal movement in a horizontal direction in the plane of the closed door. The hinge arm is mounted on a second intermediate member for longitudinal movement in a horizontal direction perpendicular to the plane of the closed door. Clamping screws are provided for clamping the first intermediate member to the mounting plate and the second intermediate member to the hinge arm. Such movements being permitted upon loosening of the clamping screws. The two intermediate members are interlockable with each other.
Abstract: A frame hinge has a hinge arm which may be secured to a furniture frame and is connected by way of at least one articulation pin to a hinge pot which may be set in a door leaf. The hinge arm is secured to the furniture frame by a base plate. Arranged between the hinge arm and the base plate is an intermediate plate which is held against the base plate by a clamping screw and is articulatedly connected to the hinge arm. The axis of the articulation is aligned perpendicular to the hinge axis and perpendicular to the plane of the closed door leaf. A gap-adjusting screw is held in the base plate and is supported by its thread either in the hinge arm or in the intermediate plate, with the result that when the gap-adjusting screw is turned the hinge arm and the intermediate plate perform an angular movement in relation to one another.
Abstract: The method for the fabrication of a crystalline blade comprised of two shoulders enclosing an airfoil form which comprises arranging the shells of a mold in a manner such that the shoulders are parallel to the plane of a grain selection baffle that empties into a junction that moves the grain to the two shoulders, and feeding the mold through gates at the upper ends of the shoulders.

Abstract: Device for laterally showing off transported goods transversally to the conveying direction of a roller conveyor having rollers supporting the goods. The rollers are pivotally arranged between two longitudinal spars and one of the rollers is connected to a drive unit. Transversal rollers, which can be driven by an elastic driving belt embracing a stationary drive unit, are provided between two adjacent rollers. The transversal rollers being supported in a vertically adjustable carrier, which allows the transversal rollers to be lifted beyond the supporting surface created by the rollers of the roller conveyor. In order to allow operation of such a device resulting in low wear and careful handling of the goods, it is provided that the carrier holds several pairs of transversal rollers and that each pair of adjacent transversal rollers is embraced by an endless discharge belt, the driving belt running over at least one transversal roller of each pair of transversal rollers.

Abstract: An improved sample card is provided. The improved card, typically used in biochemical analysis, achieves high sample well capacity and improved fluid flow, including by means of a plurality of through-channels which route the fluid flow of samples along both the front and back surfaces of the card. Elevated bubble traps are provided, as are integral interrupt slots for sensing card position and alignment. A bezeled leading edge facilitates insertion.

Abstract: A push or pull type device for operating a lock bolt includes a support attached to a door carrying the lock. This support carries a cam rotatably mounted on a plate and including a square hole for a corresponding cross-section rod to be inserted into the lock to operate the bolt. An actuator member mounted to pivot about a rotation axis substantially parallel to the plate has two spaced lugs whose paths on pivoting lie on either side of the rotation axis of the cam. A handle is an integral part of or is removably mounted on the actuator member and angular play connected with a pre-orientation of the nut is compensated elastically.
Abstract: A multilayer headbox of a paper machine for producing a paper web with several layers having different properties, and an appropriate method therefor. In at least one first layer there is adjusted alone the fiber orientation cross profile and in at least one second layer there is adjusted alone the basis weight cross profile.
Abstract: The invention relates to an inorganic element for filtering a fluid medium, in order to recover a filtrate. According to the invention, the inorganic filter element includes:radial partitions of constant thickness over their entire height, with a ratio of partition height over partition thickness being not greater than 8; andconnection fillets of radius lying in the range 0.3 mm to 1.5 mm.
Abstract: A front element not constrained to the front portion of the needle is provided, foldable on itself about a first folding axis parallel to the front portion. The rear portion of the needle is constrained to the front element such that the needle can rotate with respect to the front element about a second folding axis perpendicular to the needle. The device can assume a first operating configuration in which the element is folded on itself by rotation about the first axis, with the front portion of the needle enclosed between the two fins of the element, these facing each other and being close together. The device includes an elastically soft layer applied to the inner surface of the front element in correspondence at least with the final portion of the needle. When the front element is folded on itself into the first configuration this layer presses against the final portion of the needle to close its mouth opening.
Abstract: A new process is described for the production of 7-alpha-aminoacyl-cephalosporin free from halogen-containing solvents by acylating 7-amino-ceph-3-em-4-carboxylic acid or a derivative thereof in a halogen-free solvent.
Abstract: Disclosed herein are several aspects processes of preparing a polymer electrolyte electrochemical cell in which supply of a reaction gas and discharge of an obtained gas can be smoothly conducted. This can be achieved by forming through apertures in a cathode or by forming a gradient of ion exchange resin concentration of a catalyst particle cluster size.

Abstract: A meltblowing die for producing nonwoven polymer webs includes an inner tube having a plurality of orifices arranged in a row thereon, and an outer tube encasing the inner tube and having a slot formed therein in registry with the row orifices. The inner tube and outer tubes are constructed to define converging air passages on either side of the row of orifices, whereby hot air delivered to the outer tube converges on polymer fibers extruded through the orifices and imparts drag forces thereon to attenuate and draw down the fibers to microsize.
Abstract: A product store wherein the products are supported on a helical strip, the turns of which are rotated about a central axis and deformed elastically between an extended maximum-store-capacity position and a packed position; the turns being connected to an adjusting device for varying the spacing of the turns of the helical strip as required within a given range.
Abstract: A splint product is used for forming a hard structure about a body portion. The product includes a substrate impregnated with a resin that hardens when exposed to water. A protective water-impervious envelope surrounds the substrate and shields the substrate from exposure to moisture in the atmosphere. An outer cushioning wrap surrounds the protective envelope and is for engaging the body portion. Prior to wetting of the splint product, the protective envelope is removed from its shielding position about the substrate so that the substrate remains inside the outer wrap. The outer wrap with the substrate therein is exposed to water and applied to an appropriate body portion about which it hardens.

Abstract: Apparatus and method for protecting a barrier with a resilient pad, an objective of which being to reduce damage caused by incidental contact therewith. The protector includes a resilient membrane, advantageously made of foam, incarcerated by a cover. The outside surface of the cover may also be decorated with commercial advertising to take advantage of the prominent location of barriers at gas pump islands and drive-through businesses.
Abstract: The invention provides a side rail assembly for use with an institutional bed. The assembly includes provision to move a vertical frame from an upper or deployed position where it is generally above the mattress on the bed, to a lowered position generally below and outside the mattress. The frame can then be moved longitudinally from the lowered position into a stored position below the mattress so that the frame will not interfere with an attendant who is assisting the patient. Further, the frame will then have no impact on access to the bed. The side rail assembly also includes a balance assembly to counterbalance the weight of the frame so that the frame is unlikely to cause accidental injury to a patient as the frame is moved vertically.
