Abstract: Process for the preparation of elastomeric, non-agglomerated, powdery/crumbly polypropylene by polymerization of propylene, if appropriate together with other olefins as comonomers, in liquid propylene and subsequent precipitation of the polypropylenes formed with CO.sub.2 or a polar solvent of which the polar term "delta p" of the solubility parameter according to Hansen is greater than 5 and the total solubility parameter "delta" is less than 30.

Abstract: Balloon assemblies and valves for balloons have improved inflation capabilities. The inlet ends of the balloon valves are disrupted either with a slit or a portion of material removal to prevent the inlet end from being folded back into the valve passageway during insertion of an inflation probe. With the inlet end slit, the slit portions are readily folded back by the inflation probe, thus preventing potential blockage of the valve inlet.

Abstract: A ventilating element with a ventilator cap for mounting on the ridge, hip or arris area of a roof, and which has at least one elastically flexible sealing member that extends along a longitudinal edge area of the cap. The sealing member is formed as a looped filament seal. This configuration has the advantage that undesirable de-orientations of the filaments are prevented. This is because the loop structure has no free filament ends, and there is always a curvature in the end region which, on the one hand, prevents unintentional back-hooking, and on the other hand, imparts a certain coupling effect to adjacent loops, so that overall interlinking and interlacing of the individual loops are present, benefitting each other, especially by holding one another down, and preserving a close, flow-tight packing.

Abstract: An electric motor for portable machine tools, comprising an output shaft for operating, means for sensing the speed of said output shaft; means for sensing the magnitude and the phase of the input voltage of the electric motor itself; means for sensing the electric current absorbed by the load, microprocessor means programmed for processing the detected values sensed by said means for sensing; means for generating an acceleration ramp at the starting; means for generating a deceleration ramp at the stopping, as well as means for generating the cruise speed of the tool, voltage controlled by said microprocessor in response to said detected values processed by itself, and means for controlling the forward running, reverse running and the run storing.

Abstract: A separator-diffuser for a gas turbine engine is disclosed wherein the diffuser includes axial walls which function as a guide vane stage for the oxidizer compressor. By incorporating the last, or downstream, guide vane stage into the diffuser structure, the overall axial length and bulk of the gas turbine engine may be significantly reduced. The separator-diffuser has a wall defining a generally annular oxidizer flow passage extending around the central axis of the gas turbine engine, the passage having an oxidizer inlet located downstream of the last rotor stage of the oxidizer compressor so as to enable the oxidizer to pass from the oxidizer compressor into the oxidizer flow passage. A generally annular separator member is located in the oxidizer flow passage downstream of the oxidizer inlet so as to divide the oxidizer flow passage into at least two separate oxidizer flow paths, each flow path having a separate oxidizer outlet.

Abstract: A process and a device are useful for calibrating measurement sections for measuring noise field strengths of electrical appliances and/or to determine calibration factors for measurements of noise field strengths by means of the frequency spectrum, in particular up to 1 GHz. To this end, fields are generated by the comb generator in a known reference measurement section, preferably a standard measurement section or a free-field test site, and in a measurement section to be measured with a single calibration device or with a single interference emitter having, in particular, the same operating parameters. These fields are measured in the same manner and the calibration factors are calculated in function of the frequency by comparing the measured values.

Abstract: A pre-mixing injection system to feed a fuel/air mixture to a combustion zone in a turbojet engine combustion chamber is disclosed having a pre-mixing tube defining a convergent pre-mixing zone and a diverging intermediate zone between the fuel and air injection devices, and the combustion zone of the combustion chamber. The convergent pre-mixing zone has an inlet adjacent to the fuel injector and air swirlers to accept the fuel/air mixture into the pre-mixing tube. The pre-mixing zone converges in a direction from the inlet to an outlet which is in communication with the inlet of the divergent intermediate zone. The divergent intermediate zone has an outlet which is, in turn, in communication with the combustion zone of the turbojet engine combustion chamber. The divergent intermediate zone is defined by an inner wall and an outer wall spaced from the inner wall so as to define a generally frusto-conical chamber between them.

Abstract: The invention relates to a bridge crane and more particularly ship's bridge crane, comprising a bridge, which has two transverse bearers extending parallel to one another and constituting a track for the travelling crane and folding lateral parts, respectively pivoted at the ends of the bearers, for the selective extension of the track. In accordance with the invention the lateral parts are able to be folded from a position, in which they are in alignment with the transverse bearers, through 90.degree. into their inactive position, in which tips thereof are directed towards the respectively other transverse bearer.

Abstract: A diffuser for a turbojet engine is disclosed in which a plurality of diffuser inlets are arranged in a substantially circular array bounded by inner and outer diffuser walls and by a plurality of partitions extending generally radially from the axis of the annular diffuser. The plurality of diffuser inlets are located so as to receive air or oxidizer from the turbojet engine compressor and the radial partitions may be integrated into the compressor guide vanes. The diffuser has a plurality of sets of diffuser outlets, each set comprising a plurality of diffuser outlets arranged in a circular array about the central axis of the diffuser. The radius of each set of diffuser outlets is different from the radius of each of the other sets of diffuser outlets such that the entirety of diffuser outlets comprise a non-circular array.

Abstract: A shoe sole consists of an upper sole part (1) consisting of wood, and of a running sole (7) found underneath this. The upper sole part (1) is divided in the ball region so that several narrow strips (3) are formed running crosswise to the longitudinal direction of the sole, and the strips are joined together as well as with the front and back sole parts (4, 5) by flexible intermediate pieces (6). In one form of embodiment, a reinforcing layer (8) is rigidly joined on the surface, at least in the region of strips (3) on the under side of upper sole part (1). This reinforcing layer (8) appropriately consists of at least a layer of a wood veneer, which is glued onto the under side of upper sole part (1).

Abstract: The disclosed invention relates to a sealing device for the rotor blades of a gas turbine engine which permits real time adjustment to be made of the clearances between the rotor blade tips and the sealing structure. The sealing shroud around the turbine wheel is formed of sectors, each sector being attached to a monolithic short response time ring and a monolithic long response time ring. Ventilating air from upstream of the turbine wheel is directed onto the rings such that the sectors are caused to radially expand or contract in compliance with the expansion or contraction of the tips of the rotor blades during stabilized and transient engine operational modes. A small positive clearance between the sealing sectors and the blade tips is maintained throughout the range of the engine's operation.

Abstract: Error handling in a telecommunications exchange is performed in a process centralized fashion. Certain objects in each process are defensively programmed to detect and report errors. One error handler object is provided for each process, with the error handler object receiving the error reports, analyzing the reports and specifying error recoveries including a default behavior for recovery from errors based on a default error analysis. In situations where the default analysis and recovery does not adequately address anticipated errors, specialized error analyses and recoveries are designed for and specified by the error handler object.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for detecting events occurring in a telecommunications network is disclosed which comprises stored program control (SPC) exchanges, each SPC exchange comprising a switch and processors for executing software programs to control the switch. Code sequences, or daemons, are implanted in selected portions of the software programs, each code sequence including a conditional statement responsive to certain events and at least one activity resulting from the detection of a certain event satisfying the conditional statement. A lock value is assigned to each of the code sequences, each lock value uniquely identifying the corresponding code sequences and being operable to activate the processor for executing the code sequence. A key value is compared to each lock value for selectively activating the processor to execute the code sequence when the key value equals the lock value.

Abstract: Surgical devices such as implants or suture fastenings are assembled from a plurality of discrete components, one of which components includes a heat bondable plastic material for bonding the components together. At least two components are bonded to each other by the applying heat to the heat bondable plastic material of one component. The heat bondable plastic material is preferably a polymeric or composite material suitable for surgical applications and implantation in humans, and may be a biodegradable material. A laser may be used as the heat source. The present invention is advantageously embodied in heat bonded fastenings for sutures or K-wires, in which a variety of different suture anchors are usable, including expandable distal suture anchors.

Abstract: An inorganic filtration unit includes a filter element made up of an inorganic rigid porous support having a face covered with at least one separating layer, and an element for circulating a liquid medium containing particles to be separated therefrom which forms, together with the face of the filter element, a sheet of the liquid, the sheet having a height of between 0.1 and 3 mm and preferably between 0.2 and 1.5 mm.

Abstract: A wall structure for a gas turbine engine structure, such as a combustion chamber or an afterburner duct is disclosed having a plurality of cooling orifices formed through the wall located in a plurality of odd and even transverse rows, each row having a plurality of cooling orifices located in a plane extending substantially perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of symmetry with the cooling orifices of each odd and even row being circumferentially offset from the cooling orifices of the adjacent upstream corresponding odd and even row. The cooling orifices have a common diameter D and are circumferentially offset a distance d such that distance d is between 0.5 D and D. The axes of the orifices in the odd numbered rows lie on a first main line extending obliquely to the longitudinal axis of symmetry and to the oxidizer air flow, and the axes of orifices on the even numbered rows lie on a second main line, also extending obliquely to the longitudinal axis of symmetry and to the oxidizer air flow.

The composition may particularly be used effectively to promote skin or hair pigmentation and a reduction in the build-up of body fat such as in cellulite.

Abstract: A method of continuously measuring the resistance of a track to transverse displacement comprises the steps of continuously advancing a dynamic stabilizer along the track, applying a power to the dynamic stabilizer to impart oscillations to the track extending transversely to the track in a horizontal plane, and recording a datum corresponding to the applied power as a correlated measurement value of the transverse track displacement resistance (QVW).
