Patent number: 5544249Abstract: A method of simulating a room impression and/or sound impression occurring at a representative listening location in a room with monophonic, stereophonic or multichannel reproduction includes selecting a room whose sound is to be simulated. A location of a representative listening location is then determined. Subsequently, the corresponding room impulse response at least for one channel is determined at the representative listening location. A threshold value which exceeds over at least a portion of the duration of the determined room impulse response is determined for the determined room impulse response. By comparing the determined room impulse response with the threshold value, a reduced room impulse response is produced which within the portion of the duration of the determined room impulse response only includes those contents of the determined room impulse response in which a momentary amplitude is above the threshold value.Type: GrantFiled: August 19, 1994Date of Patent: August 6, 1996Assignee: AKG Akustische U. Patent number: 5544198Abstract: The method pertains to wireless transmission in the common-wave operation. For the operation of common-wave networks, it is required that the modulation contents of the transmission frequencies (1 . . . m) transmitted by the individual transmitting stations are identical. However, in order to enable a station or regional identification, one or more regionally differing additional carrier frequencies (n-3 . . . n) are transmitted, whose reception permits the selection of specific regionally related news or messages in the receiver. The demand of additional carrier frequencies may be reduced to four individual frequencies or frequency groups, if these additional carriers are modulated.Type: GrantFiled: September 10, 1993Date of Patent: August 6, 1996Assignee: Grundig E.M.V.Inventor: Werner Saalfrank

Patent number: 5540817Abstract: A method and apparatus for temporarily separating a web from one of the two wire belts in a twin wire zone in a paper making machine. In the twin wire zone, the negative pressure from a suction box is applied to the first wire belt for temporarily deflecting and separating the first wire belt and the web from the second wire belt and the wire belts then returning to contact the web following the suction box. The wire belts are then successively separated from the web by an appropriate guide and take up device. The take up device may comprise a press which includes a press nip defined by one of a suction roll over which the second wire in the web is passing or another type of roll or a flexible support device like a rotating press jacket. A smooth surface, such as that of a roll, forms a press nip with the support device for the second wire belt and after that press nip, the web adheres to the smooth surface to be transported further through the machine.Type: GrantFiled: January 21, 1994Date of Patent: July 30, 1996Assignee: J. Patent number: 5540651Abstract: A hydrotherapy bed includes a substantially water-tight enclosure having an open top. The top of the enclosure is covered by an upper and lower layer of thin rubber having an intermediate layer of thixotropic gel approximately one half inch thick. The rubber layers are mounted in a peripheral groove using a strip of T-shaped molding and a supporting net is mounted beneath the lower rubber layer in another peripheral groove by attaching edge loops of the net to a plastic coated half hinge which is inserted into the peripheral groove. A pair of parallel tracks is mounted inside the enclosure and an array of upwardly directed water jets is carried on a cross member which is movable along the tracks. The cross member is coupled to an endless cable wound around pulleys mounted at ends of the tracks. One of the pulleys is coupled to a motor which drives the cross member along the tracks.
