    Abstract: A method and apparatus for locking a container. The present disclosure relates to a lock mechanism which comprises a latch assembly having a rod and an extension including a latch aperture, wherein the extension extends from the rod to position the latch aperture away from the rod. The lock mechanism further comprises a door assembly having a door aperture. Additionally, a support assembly is adjustably coupled to the latch assembly wherein the support assembly includes at least one arm which supports the latch aperture in alignment with the door aperture. The method for locking the container comprises adjustably coupling the support assembly to the latch assembly and attaching the support assembly to mount assemblies which are releasably attached to internal walls of the container. The door is moved to a closed position to position the door aperture adjacent to the latch assembly wherein the extension is in alignment with the door aperture to receive a lock.

    Abstract: A water-base fluid for use in drilling wells and other drilling operation includes a shale clay which swells in the presence of water. The fluid preferably includes: an aqueous based continuous phase, and a shale hydration inhibition agent having the formula: H—(OR)x—[—NH—CH2—CH2—CH2—O—CH2—CH2—NH—]—(R?O)y—H wherein R and R? are independently selectable alkylene groups having 2 to 4 carbon atoms, and wherein x and y have independently selected values such that the sum of x and y is at least 1. The shale hydration inhibition agent should be present in sufficient concentration to reduce the swelling of the shale clay. The fluid may be used for formulating drilling fluids such as water-base drilling muds or clear brine drilling fluids. The fluid may also be used in the slurrification and disposal of drill cuttings that contain water swellable clays or shale clays.

    Abstract: A screen assembly for a vibratory separator includes a composite screen frame that has a rigid support section formed from a polymer material and a cushioned strain relief zone. The strain relief zone is located along the inner periphery of the rigid support section and provides support at the interface between the screen frame and the screen cloth. The strain relief zone may extend along an inner peripheral wall of the rigid support section. The rigid support section may include a flange and the strain relief zone may extend around the rigid support section to encapsulate the flange in addition to providing additional support to the screen cloth. The rigid support section and the strain relief zone may be co-formed in a molding process. Alternatively the rigid support section may be a molded member and the strain relief zone may be an extrusion to be assembled to the rigid support member. The screen cloth is affixed to the peripheral frame.

    Abstract: The present invention concerns a method of producing a calendered, coated fibrous web, according to which method a fibrous web is coated with a coating colour containing a coating pigment, and the coated fibrous web is calendered. According to the invention, at least 1%, preferably 10 to 100% of the weight of the pigment comprises calcium oxalate, and calendering the coated web by online calendering. The properties of the calcium oxalate pigment are so advantageous for calendering that it is possible to obtain a reasonably high gloss already with a machine calender (online calendering), which will eliminate need for a separate offline calender in the production line of matt surface papers.

    Abstract: An energy absorbing terminal is described that is made up of a plurality of cells partially defined by cambered panels made of thermoplastic or another suitable material. The panels are supported upon rectangular frames. The cambered portion of the panels provides a predetermined point of flexure for each panel and, thus, allows for energy dissipation during a collision. The stiffness of the crash cushion may be varied by altering material thicknesses and diaphragm spacing. In operation, a vehicle colliding in an end-on manner with the upstream end of the energy absorbing terminal will cause each of the cambered panels to bend angularly at its point of flexure and, thus, cause the cells to collapse axially. The use of thermoplastic, such as polyethylene results in a reversible, self-restoring collapse for the terminal, meaning that the terminal is reusable after most collisions.
