Abstract: The invention relates to a method of adjusting a radio frequency signal produced by radio frequency circuitry in response to receipt of phase and amplitude control signals from digital baseband circuitry which operates to convert digital data signals into such phase and amplitude control signals. The phase and amplitude control signals are adjusted in the digital baseband circuitry in order to compensate for time alignment errors which occur in the radio frequency circuitry.

Abstract: An eccentric shaft assembly for a vibratory roller utilizes a cylindrical tubular shaft that considerably reduces the weight of the assembly, decreases substantially oscillatory shaft deflection during rotation and thereby improves bearing and seal life. The eccentric weights are mounted on the interior of the tubular shaft, thereby simplifying manufacture and providing a smoother operation.

Abstract: An amplifier circuit includes a calibration circuit with a controllable circuit element such as a digital resistor. One or more properties of the controllable circuit element (e.g., the resistance in a digital resistor) is varied by a digital calibration word such that the voltage drop across the resistor matches a reference voltage. The calibration word is also used to control the resistance of a transistor that forms a part of a power amplifier to compensate for temperature and process variations. The amplifier may be a switching power amplifier, and the transistor may be a segmented transistor with the width (and hence the channel resistance) controlled by the digital calibration word.
Abstract: A method, system and agent for exchanging the Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) Technical Specification document number a first node uses, with a second node of the network, so that subsequent communications can be properly carried between the nodes. The first node may be an agent and the second node may be a manager of a management system. The manager sends a GetXXXIRPVersion request message, a GetNotificationCategories request message, or a GetNetworkResourceSchemeId request message, to which the agent responds with an abridged version of the 3GPP TS document number the agent uses in this type of communications, so that the manager is informed of the protocol employed by the agent and can expect communications of the type indicated by the agent.

Abstract: A measurement device with a cylindrical housing (2), with a sensor element and with an adjustment element (6) made, for example, as a potentiometer, for setting at least one parameter of the measurement device. The measurement device (1) is especially easily and still accurately and reproducibly settable by there being at least one rotary adjustment ring, the adjustment ring being made as a housing sleeve (7) for setting the parameter.
Abstract: A method of increasing shale formation stability with a water based drilling fluid, the method including: delivering to the shale formation a drilling fluid formulated to include an aqueous fluid; a first reactant which is a soluble monomer, oligomer, or polymer with exposed ketone, aldehyde, or aldol groups or with groups which can be shifted to ketone or aldehyde functionality; and, a second reactant which is a primary amine, diamine, or polyamine which by condensation reaction forms a semi-soluble or precipitated filming product with the first reactant.
Abstract: A trailer position indicator having a trailer attachment member, a boom arm, and a guidance member is provided. The trailer attachment member is configured to be attached to a cross member of a boat trailer. The boom arm is pivotally connected at a lower end to the trailer attachment member, and the guidance member is connected to the upper end of the boom arm. A torsion spring is operably connected to the boom arm and trailer attachment member to bias the boom arm toward an extended position, yet allow the boom arm to be pushed to a stowed position as a boat is loaded on the trailer. A bracket protector is attached to the trailer attachment member and a protective sleeve is disposed on the boom arm for protecting the boat during loading and unloading.
Abstract: Load redistribution and other benefits may be achieved by dynamically distributing or “steering” idle mobile stations to a particular cell or area. For example, idle mobile stations may be steered from a loaded cell to less loaded cells by changing one or more cell broadcast parameters.

Abstract: Idle mobile stations are steered to a particular cell or service area to accommodate subscriber preferences or restrictions, subscription services, or network operator preferences or restrictions and/or to accomplish load redistribution or other network management functions. Multiple idle mobile station steering factors are considered. Steering may be accomplished using a variety of techniques such as rejecting registration attempts in certain cells and accepting those attempts in others and adjusting cell broadcast parameters.

Abstract: A semiconductive chip having at least one active device, and at least one bond pad located on said active device. The bond pad has at least one deformable member, and the deformable member is deformable when conductive stud is bonded to said bond pad so as to prevent damage to the active device during the bonding of the conductive stud to the bond pad, such as by an ultrasonic bonding technique. A plurality of the deformable members may define a pattern on the bond pad that deforms when the conductive stud is bonded to the bond pad.

Abstract: The invention relates to a drill bit (1), in particular a masonry drill bit comprising an elongated shaft (15) and a cutting plate (2), one end of which has inclined cutting edges (3, 3?;4, 4?) that form a point. Each cutting edge (3, 3?; 4, 4?) is formed by the abutment of a cutting face (5, 5?; 6, 6?), lying in front of the cutting edge (3, 3?; 4, 4?) in the rotational direction (17) of the drill bit (1) and a flank (7, 7?; 8, 8?), lying behind the cutting edge (3, 3?; 4, 4?) in the rotational direction (17) of the drill bit (1), each cutting face and flank respectively forming a wedge angle y. In the central region of the drill bit (1), the cutting plate (2) has a centring tip that is stepped in relation to the marginal regions, the cutting edges (4, 4?) of said tip being set back in the rotational direction (17) in relation to the cutting edges (3, 3?) of the marginal regions.

Abstract: An apparatus for measuring an absorption coefficient includes a first diffusive material, a second diffusive material inside the first diffusive material separated from the first diffusive material by a cavity, and a transparent material proximate to an inner surface of the second diffusive material that holds an absorptive material. First and second light detectors measure light intensities in the first and second diffusive materials respectively. An absorption coefficient for the absorptive material may be determined based on the first and second light intensities measured when the cavity is illuminated by a light source.

Abstract: A pixel and its process for an in-plane switching liquid crystal display achieves more spreading angles and smooth performance for scattering of light for image display therewith by using a reflector having a reflective surface with roughness in nanometer scale for light scattering and contrast improvement. As a result, the reflectivity doesn't change enormously with the viewing angle and excellent anti-glare effect is obtained. Moreover, the roughness of the reflective surface is formed by the crystallization and the characteristic of the material thereof owns, and thus no additional mask is required.
Abstract: To generate a high-power modulated radio frequency signal SOUT from an input low or medium frequency information signal SIN, the information signal is pulse-shaped in a quantifier to form a digital signal SD having discrete signal values. The digital signal is processed in a switching unit comprising switches for each signal value, in radio frequency wave generators for each switch generating carrier waves of radio frequency, and in control circuits for each switch to control the opening and closing thereof. When a switch is closed, its associated generator is connected to the output line of the switching unit, and when it is opened, the generator is disconnected therefrom. In the switching unit, a switched radio frequency signal SSW carrying the information of the input signal is formed by opening and closing the switches when the digital signal adopts or does not adopt, respectively, the signal value associated with the respective switch.
