  • Patent number: 7119240
Abstract: A process for converting natural gas to an olefin includes heating the gas to a selected range of temperature to convert a fraction of the gas stream to reactive hydrocarbons, primarily ethylene or acetylene, and reacting with hydrogen in the presence of a catalyst to produce the olefin, usually ethylene. A portion of the incoming natural gas may be used to heat the remainder of the natural gas to the selected range of temperature. Hydrogen resulting from the reactions may be used to make electricity in a fuel cell. Alternatively, hydrogen may be burned to heat the natural gas to the selected range of temperature.

  • Publication number: 20060223715
Abstract: A method of cleaning a wellbore prior to the production of oil or gas is disclosed, wherein the wellbore has been drilled with an invert emulsion drilling mud that forms an invert emulsion filter cake. The method may include the steps of circulating a breaker fluid into the wellbore, where the breaker fluid includes an aqueous fluid, a water soluble polar organic solvent, a hydrolysable ester of a carboxylic acid, and a weighting age, and where the hydrolysable ester is selected so that upon hydrolysis an organic acid is released and the invert emulsion of the filter cake breaks.

  • Publication number: 20060224525
Abstract: A broker node is provided, acting as an intermediate administrator for all operators during service content distribution. A content provider has a single relation to the broker. This broker has in turn relations to a number of other operators. The content provider provides the communication content. A list of targeted users or subscribers is compiled by the broker. Preferably, the broker collects necessary subscriber attributes, such as position, device information and access properties, from the other operators. The communication content is preferably modified according to the collected attributes and the content can subsequently be delivered to the subscribers in a best possible way. The broker collects payment from the subscribers and reimburses the media content supplier. In a first aspect, the broker is a distributor and payment administrator for service content. In another aspect, the broker is a mediator of use of inter-operator relations to a third-party content provider.

  • Patent number: 7116998
Abstract: In a RAKE receiver delays associated with multipath signals are determined by subtracting power values associated with sidelobes of a peak value for each of the multipath signals. The determination can be performed in two stages, in the first stage the determination of the delays is made without accounting for a phase difference between adjacent multipath signals, while in the second stage the determinations are made accounting for the phase difference.

  • Patent number: 7114449
Abstract: A method for producing a large-caliber, high-explosive projectile (1, 1?), and a projectile formed according the method, having a projectile casing (2, 2?) that surrounds a chamber (6, 6?) filled with an explosive charge (9, 9?), and that has a mouth (5, 5?) at its tip that can be sealed, and through which the explosive charge (9, 9?) is inserted into the chamber (6, 6?) of the high-explosive projectile (1, 1?). The explosive charge (9, 9?) is disposed in a plastic casing (8), comprised of an elastic material, inside the chamber of the high-explosive projectile (1, 1?). Additional tensioning means (11, 11?, 17, 17?) are provided to compensate for the varying volume of the explosive charge (9, 9?) relative to the projectile casing (2, 2?) if the temperature fluctuates dramatically and maintain the explosive charge (9, 9?) under a pre-stress, particularly when using a plastic bound explosive charge (9, 9?).

  • Publication number: 20060214454
Abstract: A tailgate counterbalancing hinge assembly includes a linear torque rod, a first end assembly and a second end assembly secured to the torque rod. The assemblies are easily mounted in the vehicle by means of brackets secured to the tailgate. The first end assembly pivotally supports the tailgate while permitting a torque rod end to be rigidly coupled to the tailgate for movement with the tailgate about a pivot axis. The first assembly includes a body bracket with an elongated key slot that receives an elongated key of a pivot coupling having an opening for receiving a first end of the torque rod. The second end assembly also pivotally supports the tailgate and permits the other end of the torque rod to be rigidly connected to the vehicle body. The second assembly includes a vehicle body hinge pin, and combines bushings with an aligned, elongated key to simplify installation and removal of the counterbalancing hinge assembly.

  • Patent number: 7112004
Abstract: An energy absorbing terminal is described that is made up of a plurality of cells partially defined by cambered panels made of thermoplastic or another suitable material. The panels are supported upon rectangular frames. The cambered portion of the panels provides a predetermined point of flexure for each panel and, thus, allows for energy dissipation during a collision. The stiffness of the crash cushion may be varied by altering material thicknesses and diaphragm spacing. In operation, a vehicle colliding in an end-on manner with the upstream end of the energy absorbing terminal will cause each of the cambered panels to bend angularly at its point of flexure and, thus, cause the cells to collapse axially. The use of thermoplastic, such as polyethylene results in a reversible, self-restoring collapse for the terminal, meaning that the terminal is reusable after most collisions.

  • Patent number: 7113536
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for providing Rendezvous point Interpiconet Scheduling (RIPS) in an ad hoc polling based communication infrastructure such as a Bluetooth system in which a PMP node (Participant in Multiple Piconet nodes) belongs to more than one piconet. The rendezvous (RV) points of a PMP node is defined based on information specific to the node, rather than being associated with the links between slave and master nodes. By defining RV points per PMP node rather than per link, the master node of a piconet in the RIPS system is aware of the RV points that its slave PMP nodes have in other piconets. This advantageously allows a master node in the RIPS system to know when its slave nodes will be present in the piconet and when they will not be present.

  • Patent number: 7107743
Abstract: A wrapping machine having a pre-stretching device including a first pre-stretching roller and a second pre-stretching roller, which are tractively coupled via power transmission gears. A first deflecting pinch roller has been fitted to be pressed against the first pre-stretching roller to form a first nip for the film web passed between the first deflecting pinch roller and the first pre-stretching roller. A second deflecting pinch roller has been fined to be pressed against the second pre-stretching roller to form a second nip for the film web passed between the second deflecting pinch roller and the second pre-stretching roller. A lever mechanism moves the first pre-stretching roller between an engagement position and a disengagement position, so that the lever mechanism also moves the first deflecting pinch roller apart from the first pre-stretching roller and simultaneously the second deflecting pinch roller apart from the second pre-stretching roller to allow easier thread-in of the film web end.

  • Patent number: 7104747
Abstract: A load change safety system in which a sheet stacker having a stacking deck formed with a discharge end discharges sheet material onto and builds a sheet stack on a conveying sheet stack removal system formed with a receiving means. A variable pinch point gap is formed by relative motion between the discharge end of the stacking deck and the receiving means of the conveying sheet material removal system. The safety system includes redundant means selectively preventing a decrease in the variable pinch point gap. The redundant means of the safety system preferably includes an electro-optical light guard means operably connected to the redundant means with one or more redirections of light beams to create a light guard perimeter guarding portions of the stacker and sheet removal system to guard against access to the pinch point.
