  • Patent number: 6879281
Abstract: A radar based sensor detection system comprises a microwave source operative to provide a continuous wave signal at an output. A pulse-former is coupled to the output of the source and is operative to provide at an output a variable length pulse that increases the transmitted energy of the radar system according to the range of object detection. A modulator is coupled to the output of the pulse-former for providing a modulated pulse signal when required. A transmit/receive switch coupled to the output of the modulator is selectively operative between a first transmit position and a second receive position. A transmit channel coupled to the transmit/receive switch transmits the pulse signal when the switch is operated in the transmit position. A receiving channel coupled to the transmit/receive switch receives the modulator signal when the switch is operated in the receive position.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an arrangement/method for controlling/supporting control of process of a system solution. A number of processes are provided/defined for supporting execution of a number of manually driven processes, each process comprising a number of steps or node. For each process step a spreadsheet is provided comprising the indata parameters required for the actions to be taken in the process step, and for each process step, furthermore an operation instruction (OID) is provided which comprises information about the measures/actions to be taken in the process step and about the order in which the actions/measures are to be taken, such that when the actions/measures of a process step are taken, it is proceeded with the subsequent process step of the defined process using the spreadsheet and operation instruction relevant for that subsequent process step. The respective OIDs are written on system level.

  • Publication number: 20050068712
Abstract: A capacitive proximity switch for detecting the change in the capacitance relative to a setpoint capacitance by the approach or retreat of an object in the sensitive area of a proximity switch, especially for use in the door handle of a motor vehicle, provides reliable error detection and error suppression at a fundamentally high sensitivity of the capacitive proximity switch by utilizing an evaluation unit that evaluates a measured value of the change in capacitance over time and depending on the time behavior of the measured value activates changes the operating threshold from a first threshold (which can be caused by a false object coming into or out of the sensitive area of the proximity switch) to a higher second threshold which can be reached only at a relatively greater change in capacitance caused by a target object coming into or out of the sensitive area of the proximity switch.

  • Patent number: 6872364
Abstract: An apparatus for conducting an endothermic reaction of an organic' compound in the presence of molecular hydrogen and of multicomponent solids is described. The process of operating the apparatus comprises contacting the compound with a solid catalyst for the endothermic reaction and a hydrogen oxidizing solid reagent intermixed with the solid catalyst. Organic products of the endothermic reaction are produced, with evolution of molecular hydrogen. The solid catalyst becomes gradually deactivated by formation of carbonaceous deposits thereon. The evolved hydrogen undergoes an exothermic reaction with the hydrogen oxidizing solid reagent to form a reduction product which comprises deactivated hydrogen oxidizing solid reagent.

  • Patent number: 6873648
Abstract: Locations of path rays in a multi-path channel receiver having multiple time references are detected, e.g., when the receiver switches time references. Locations of received path rays are searched for and determined. The locations are tracked for a predetermined amount of time. If the locations are lost after a predetermined amount of time, a new search for the locations of the received path rays is initiated. The searching may include determining a probable location of a most significant path ray, shifting the location within a predetermined interval, analyzing each shifted location to determine whether the shifted location corresponds to the actual location of the received path ray, and depending on the analysis results, completing the search or determining a probable location of a next most significant ray. The analysis may be performed by correlating each shifted location with a pilot sequence and determining if the correlation results exceed a predetermined threshold.

  • Publication number: 20050058219
Abstract: The invention is directed to a system for determining a transfer function for emphasizing an electromagnetic signal prior to being processed by determining a discrete transfer function for a processing system, such as a wideband phase modulator; determining a target transfer function such that the target transfer function multiplied by the inverse of the discrete transfer function produces a discrete pre-emphasis transfer function; and transforming any unstable poles and/or zeros in the pre-emphasis transfer function to stable poles and/or zeros. The discrete transfer function may be determined, for example, by using an S-function, input and output signals, the inverse-invariant method, and/or the Steiglitz-McBride algorithm. The transformation of the unstable poles and/or zeros may be accomplished using an all pass filter. The target transfer function may be a low pass FIR filter having a gain of about unity across substantially all of the frequency range of said FIR filter.
