Publication number: 20040006613Abstract: The present invention provides a network node and corresponding methods for implementing a Quality of Service (QoS) mechanism in an Internet Protocol (IP) network. The network node comprises a swapping table comprising swapping records. Each swapping record lists an incoming network path and an associated QoS Class, an outgoing network path associated with the incoming network path. Each swapping records also lists a second QoS Class and an output port of the network node associated with the outgoing network path. The network node also comprises a communication module capable of receiving packet flows on one of the incoming network paths and directing the packets from the packet flows into packet queues each having an associated QoS classification corresponding to the QoS Class of the outgoing network path associated with the incoming network path on which the packets have been received, and as listed in the swapping table.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 3, 2002Publication date: January 8, 2004Applicant: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson (publ)Inventors: Yves Lemieux, Mohamed Ashour, Tallal Elshabrawy

Publication number: 20040006623Abstract: The mechanism for providing services to a terminal user includes identifying at least one service to be offered to the terminal user. Each of the identified services are then linked to a corresponding Hyper Text Terminal Protocol Uniform Resource Identifier (HTTP URI). A list is built for all linked HTTP URIs, and the list is forwarded to the terminal user. The terminal receives the list in the form of an incoming message, the incoming message comprising the HTTP URIs corresponding to services being offered to the user. The terminal displays the HTTP URIs, and obtains the user's selection. Then, the terminal activates the HTTP URI corresponding to the user's selection.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 5, 2002Publication date: January 8, 2004Applicant: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson (publ)Inventors: Christophe Gourraud, Sorin Surdila

Patent number: 6668336Abstract: A ruggedized file system, which provides ruggedness to non-volatile storage media at the device driver level. The ruggedized block device driver implementation provides ruggedness at the device driver level, thereby allowing atomic sequences of operations by the file system. Accordingly, the device driver is told that the current data state is a “fall-back” consistent state, into which the system should wake up if interrupted prior to completion of the sequence, following which operations are executed as required by the file system, including erasing, writing or overwriting blocks. The device driver is further told when the atomic sequence is complete, such that a new consistent state is thereby defined. It is, accordingly, the responsibility of the device driver to ensure that either the sequence completes and the file system reaches the target consistent state, or if power is lost or any other failure occurs in the middle, the file system will wake up in the initial fallback state.Type: GrantFiled: March 29, 2002Date of Patent: December 23, 2003Assignee: M-Systems Flash Disk Pioneers Ltd.Inventor: Menahem Lasser

Patent number: 6667672Abstract: A high power ferrite microwave phase shifter that is both compact and low cost. The ferrite phase shifter includes a waveguide having a first cylinder and a second cylinder, the radius of the second cylinder being less than the radius of the first cylinder. The second cylinder is disposed within the first cylinder such that the two cylinders have a common axis of symmetry. The waveguide includes a first septum formed as a disk and disposed within the second cylinder. The disk has a pie-shaped aperture formed therethrough and is centrally disposed within the second cylinder so that the two cylinders and the disk share the same axis of symmetry. The second cylinder has an opening formed therethrough that is aligned with the pie-shaped aperture. The waveguide further includes a second septum that extends from the first cylinder to the disk center while bisecting the pie-shaped aperture, thereby separating an input from an output of the ferrite phase shifter.Type: GrantFiled: May 21, 2002Date of Patent: December 23, 2003Assignee: M/A-Com, Inc.Inventor: Wayne Dean Fowler

System and method for providing multiple endpoints in a device disposed in a packet-switched network
Patent number: 6667968Abstract: A system and method for providing multiple endpoints in a single proxy device disposed in a packet-switched network system comprising a gatekeeper. The proxy device is configured with an alias address and transport address. Each endpoint is provided with its own alias address also. When the proxy device is registered at the gatekeeper, a registry table therein is updated by creating an association between the proxy device's transport and alias addresses. For each endpoint that is powered up, a Registration Request message is sent from the proxy device to the gatekeeper. The Registration Request message includes the alias address of the endpoint. In response, the registry table in the gatekeeper is updated by creating an association between the transport address of the proxy device and the endpoint's alias address received, without replacing or deleting previous associations between the proxy device's transport address and other alias addresses.Type: GrantFiled: July 7, 1999Date of Patent: December 23, 2003Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson (publ)Inventor: Hung Tran -
