  • Patent number: 5287714
Abstract: A roll stand for a planetary rolling mill having a housing, and two stationary support members mounted in chocks, with rolling segments and intermediate and work rolls mounted in rotationally driven cages. The support members have a plurality of rolling segments, spaced about an outer surface thereof. By the turning of the support members, the rolling segments can be brought, in each case, into working position. In order to be able to effect a change of the rolling segments while using the favorable torque division of the drive system for the roll cages, the support members (1) are rotatably mounted in their chocks (15) adapted to be clamped (20) in the working position of the rolling segments (16). A drive is selectably engaged to rotate the support member into a new working position.

  • Patent number: 5260522
Abstract: A double-wall hollow body comprises an inner hollow body and a cooperating outer hollow body. The outer hollow body is frictionally attached to the inner hollow body, and is radially spaced from the inner body so that an annular space is formed between the two bodies. Acoustic-damping insulating material is contained within the annular space, and forms an interlayer between the inner and outer bodies. An end of the double-wall hollow body is formed by respective ends of the inner and outer hollow bodies that rest directly against each other without insulating material. The inner hollow body is separated over an entire circumference from the outer hollow body by the insulating interlayer. Various methods of manufacturing the foregoing double-wall hollow body are also described. For instance, to apply the insulating material to the inner hollow body, such body may be heated and then rolled into the insulating material.

  • Patent number: 5252057
Abstract: An apparatus for ejecting a molding from an injection molding machine includes a linearly moveable ejector plate. The ejector plate has a reciprocatingly movable coupling device for connecting the ejector plate to a mold ejector plate in a form-locked and force-locked manner. The ejector plate also has a hydraulic cylinder having a movable coupling piston connected to a coupling rod. This coupling rod has a head end which is insertable into the coupling sleeve of the mold ejector plate. The coupling rod is tubular within which an axially displaceable actuating rod is provided, while the actuating rod has a conically tapered front end. By displacement of the actuating rod relative to the coupling rod, the radially engaging head region of the coupling rod is widened by radially outwardly directed forces. Thus, in a coupled condition, the head ends of the coupling rod and the actuating rod are connected in form-locked and force-locked manner with the coupling sleeve so that all coupling play is prevented.

  • Patent number: 5246237
Abstract: A seal for a work cylinder operated with pressure fluid, through which cylinder an axially displaceable coupling element connected with the work cylinder, particularly a pull means, is extended in a fluid-tight manner from the inside of the cylinder. To obtain a better sealing of the inside of the cylinder under all possible operating conditions, particularly when using coupling elements developed as pull means of a cross-sectional shape other than circular, the seal is comprised of a single cup-shaped piece, the bottom surface of the seal being provided with a cuff which tapers conically in axial direction towards the cup-shaped inside of the seal. The cuff is provided with a sealing opening which permits the passage of the coupling element therethrough. The seal is provided with a sealing ring on the outer periphery in the region of the open end.
