Abstract: In a method of managing access codes, a product is provided with an access restricting mechanism configured to permit operation of the product in response to entry of either one of first and second access codes using a code interface. The first access code is displayed on the product without displaying the second access code on the product. The second access code is identified to a user in response to user input of at least one of the first access code and a serial number into a terminal in communication with an electronically accessible code storage unit associating the second access code with the at least one of the first access code and the serial number.
Abstract: A lockout device configured to be lockingly secured to an external structure includes a housing defining an opening sized to receive the external structure, at least one gripping member disposed within the housing and positioned to receive the external structure, and a driving member assembled with the housing. The at least one gripping member is movable in an axial direction between a first position in which internal surfaces of the housing urge the at least one gripping member into gripping engagement with the external structure, and a second position in which the internal surfaces of the housing allow the at least one gripping member to expand to release the external structure. The driving member is operatively connected with the at least one gripping member for movement of the at least one gripping member between the first and second positions.
Abstract: A capacitive touch keypad assembly includes a housing, a capacitance sensing substrate disposed within the housing, and a plurality of conducting members. The housing includes a barrier panel and a keypad display disposed on an exterior surface of the barrier panel. The keypad display defines a plurality of key locations each aligned with a corresponding bore in the barrier panel. The capacitance sensing substrate includes a plurality of key sensors in alignment with the corresponding plurality of key locations. Each of the plurality of conducting members has a first end disposed in a corresponding one of the plurality of barrier panel bores and a second end engaging a corresponding one of the plurality of key sensors.

Abstract: A lockbox includes a body and a lid connected to body and pivotable between a closed position and an open position. The body defines an enclosure and includes a body aperture and the lid includes a first lid aperture positioned adjacent to the body aperture when the lid is in the closed position, such that insertion of a padlock shackle through the body aperture and the lid aperture prevents pivoting movement of the lid from the closed position to the open position. The lockbox includes a slot intersecting one of the body aperture and the lid aperture for insertion of an item into the enclosure when the lid is in the closed position. A padlock shackle inserted through the body aperture and the lid aperture prevents passage of an item through the slot.
Abstract: A combination locking arrangement includes a locking member, at least first and second tumbler discs, a dial, and a code change mechanism. When each of the tumbler discs is rotated to an unlocking orientation, the locking member is movable from a locking position to a releasing position. The dial is rotatable about a tumbler disc axis for selective rotation of the at least first and second tumbler discs. The dial includes a clutch rotationally securable in interlocking engagement with the first tumbler disc. The code change mechanism is rotatable to a code change position to separate the clutch from the first tumbler disc, such that the dial is subsequently rotatable to rotate the clutch with respect to the first tumbler disc.

Abstract: Lock assembly and method of coding and recoding locks. Some embodiments of a lock include a housing, a lock cylinder, a plurality of tumblers, a plurality of codebars, and a sidebar. Some embodiments of a lock include a housing, a lock cylinder, a plurality of tumblers, a plurality of code blocks, a sidebar, and a codebar.
Abstract: A lockout device for a handle assembly includes first and second lockout members each including an outward facing base wall and outward extending first and second projections. The first and second projections of the first base member are spaced apart to receive the handle therebetween, and the first and second projections of the second base member are spaced apart to receive the handle latch therebetween. The first and second lockout members are pivotable with respect to each other to a lockout position for engagement of the base walls of the first and second lockout members with facing surfaces of a handle and a handle latch of the handle assembly. When the first and second lockout members are secured between the handle and the handle latch in the lockout position, the first and second lockout members block movement of the handle latch to prevent rotational movement of the handle assembly.
Abstract: Locking devices, electronic locks, and detection assemblies are provided. One locking device includes an antenna and a conductive body having a cavity disposed around the antenna and formed in an interior portion of the conductive body. The conductive body further includes a slot extending from the cavity to an outer surface of the conductive body.
