Abstract: Various embodiments of the present invention provide systems and methods for automatically substantiating claims for health care reimbursement account plans, such as a self-funded flexible spending account (FSA), an employer-funded health care savings account (HSA), or a health care reimbursement account (HRA) over a non banking network. In particular, in various embodiments, a claims processing system is configured for receiving a claim for a health care related expense over a non-banking communications network from a health care provider and processing the claim to determine if the health care reimbursement plan account is eligible, if the balance of the account is greater than or equal to the amount of payment requested, and if the claim is sufficiently substantiated.

Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided to efficiently receive digital imaging data files, regardless of their size. For a respective data packet of a digital imaging data file, the method may determine whether that portion of the digital imaging data file that has been received satisfies the first threshold. If the first threshold is not satisfied, the method may receive the respective data packet using memory, such as by appending the data packet to a linked list. However, if the first threshold is satisfied, the method may receive the respective data packet and subsequent data packet(s) of the digital imaging data file using file storage. The receipt of the respective data packet using file storage is slower than the receipt of the respective data packet using memory.

Abstract: Systems and methods for the coordination of benefits in healthcare claim transactions are provided. A healthcare claim request including information associated with a plurality of prescription claims for a single healthcare transaction may be received from a healthcare provider computer and identified as a bundled healthcare claim request. A primary claim request for the healthcare transaction may be generated and communicated to a first claims processor computer for adjudication, and a first adjudicated reply may be received from the first claims processor computer. Based at least in part on the received first adjudicated reply, a secondary claim request for the healthcare transaction may be generated and communicated to a second claims processor computer for adjudication. A second adjudicated reply may be received from the second claims processor, and information associated with the first adjudicated reply and the second adjudicated reply may be communicated to the healthcare provider computer.

Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and computer program products are provided for determining a modulation transfer function of an imaging system. A method may include accessing an image of a phantom having a substantially circular shaped feature captured by the imaging system. The method may further include detecting the circular shaped feature within the image. The method may additionally include defining at least one line extending from a point within the detected circular shaped feature to a point outside of the circular shaped feature. The method may also include determining an edge spread function based at least in part on the defined at least one line. The method may further include determining the modulation transfer function of the imaging system based at least in part on the determined edge spread function. Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, methods, and computer program products are provided for processing workload requests in a distributed computing system. In general, a cooperative workload serialization system is provided that includes a Message Queue that is configured to receive and hold workload requests from a number of requestors and a Request Manager that is in communication with the Message Queue and is configured to direct the processing of the workload requests. The system may include a Culler in communication with the Request Manager, where the Culler is configured to monitor the validity of the workload requests. The Request Manager, in turn, may be configured to remove an indicated workload request from the Message Queue based on information from the Culler that the indicated workload request is not valid.

Abstract: A keyboard is provided that includes an arrangement of keys, circuitry and a first processor configured to generate a signal in response to a keystroke in which a respective key of the arrangement of keys is depressed, and determine how to interpret the keystroke. The keyboard also includes a plurality of proximity sensors and a second processor configured to measure the proximity of an object to the respective proximity sensors, determine a position and/or movement of the object relative to the proximity sensors based on the respective signal, and produce a gesture signal representative of the determined position and/or movement. This gesture signal is interpretable into one or more commands or instructions for directing performance of one or more operations of an apparatus or software operating on the apparatus. Abstract: Systems and methods may include providing a first silo configured to operate a first set of event-driven processing stages, and a second silo configured to operate a second set of event-driven processing stages; arranging at least one shared transaction cache between the first set of processing stages and the second set of processing stages of the respective first and second silos, where each processing stage of the first and second sets of processing stages can obtain or receive one or more transactions from the at least one shared transaction cache for processing, and where when a distressed processing stage in the first silo fails to process a first transaction designated for the distressed processing stage in a predefined amount of time, a non-distressed processing stage in the second silo obtains or receives the first transaction from the at least one shared transaction cache to process the first transaction on behalf of the distressed processing stage.

Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided to process a compressed image, such as a normalized DICOM image. A method may receive a compressed image having pixels that each have by a pixel value having a predefined number of bits in a grayscale format. The method may decompress the image by mapping the pixel value into two channels of a multi-channel output buffer, such as a red-green-blue (RGB) output buffer, such that each channel has fewer than the predefined number of bits. The method may render a scene of the image based upon camera coordinates and, for a rendered pixel, sample a plurality of RGB values, convert the plurality of RGB values to the grayscale format having the predefined number of bits, perform an interpolation of the RGB values following conversion to the grayscale format and perform a window level operation on the result of the interpolation.

Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided to normalize DICOM image data such that normalized images may be efficiently transmitted to client devices and processed thereby. A method may include converting a DICOM image to a normalized image having a different file format, such as JPEG-XR format. The conversion of the DICOM image may include compressing the DICOM image and converting each of a plurality of pixels of the DICOM image to a grayscale pixel format and a color pixel format. The method may also create a set of related images having the different file format based upon the normalized image. The creation of the set of related images may include creating a plurality of images having different pixel dimensions that are smaller than the pixel dimensions of the normalized image. The method may also transform ancillary information related to the DICOM image to a human readable format.

Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and computer program products are provided for supporting remote hosting without using network address translation. A method may include supporting, at a hub, a plurality of redundant tunnel end points for each of a plurality of spokes using a technology based at least in part on multipoint generic routing encapsulation protocol. The method may further include using policy based routing to determine a destination spoke for outgoing data traffic. The method may additionally include using service level agreement tracking to select a tunnel end point from the plurality of redundant tunnel end points for the determined destination spoke. The method may also include causing the outgoing data traffic to be routed to the determined destination spoke via the selected tunnel end point.
