Abstract: A silver-indium transient liquid phase method of bonding a semiconductor device and a heat-spreading mount, and a semiconductor structure having a silver-indium transient liquid phase bonding joint are provided. With the ultra-thin silver-indium transient liquid phase bonding joint formed between the semiconductor device and the heat-spreading mount, its thermal resistance can be minimized to achieve a high thermal conductivity. Therefore, the heat spreading capability of the heat-spreading mount can be fully realized, leading to an optimal performance of the high power electronics and photonics devices.
Abstract: A method is described for estimating skin thickness over an implanted magnet. A plane is defined that is perpendicular to the skin of a patient over an implanted magnet and characterized by x- and y-axis coordinates. The magnetic field strength of the implanted magnet is measured using an array of magnetic sensors on the skin of the patient. From the measured magnetic field strength, at least one x-axis coordinate in the plane is determined for at least one y-axis zero position on the array where a y-axis component of the measured magnetic field strength is zero. From that, a y-axis coordinate of the at least one y-axis zero is calculated as a function of the at least one x-axis coordinate, such that the y-axis coordinate represents thickness of the skin over the implanted magnet.

Abstract: Arrangements are described for generating electrode stimulation signals to electrode contacts in an implanted cochlear implant electrode array. Electrode stimulation signals are a sequence of monophasic stimulation pulses varying in polarity between positive polarity and negative polarity with successive pulses separated in time by an interpulse interval sufficient for neural response. Accumulated charge imbalance and charge imbalance polarity are calculated for each electrode contact after each stimulation pulse. For each electrode contact a stimulation pulse has the same polarity as an immediately preceding stimulation pulse for that electrode contact only when the charge imbalance polarity has opposite polarity from the immediately preceding stimulation pulse for that electrode contact, and the accumulated charge imbalance exceeds a defined charge imbalance threshold value. Otherwise, each stimulation pulse has the opposite polarity as the immediately preceding stimulation pulse for that electrode contact.
Abstract: Methods enabling prediction, screening, early diagnosis, and recommended intervention or treatment selection of chronic medical conditions using artificial intelligence operating in conjunction with large medical datasets. Logic is applied to historic population data to extract medical features and identify subjects with diagnosed chronic conditions, and the pre-diagnosis medical data is used to train a diagnosis classification algorithm. A self-supervised learning mechanism is separately used to generate a feature embedding transformation of the patient's medical history into representational feature vectors. These patient feature vectors together with their expected diagnoses are used to train a multi-label classifier model using supervised learning. The embedding transformation and the multi-label classifier are then applied to a current subject's data to generate a patient diagnosis probability vector, predicting the existence of chronic conditions.

Abstract: Methods and devices for treating erectile dysfunction are disclosed. Methods are aimed at reducing blood outflow from penile tissue by delivering energy to specific penile tissue that controls blood outflow from the penile tissue and causing remodeling of the specific penile tissue. Devices may be configured to generate RF energy and to apply the generated RF energy to a penis to thereby elevate a temperature of internal penile tissue above a predetermined temperature value while maintaining a penile surface below a predetermined temperature threshold. The predetermined temperature value may be set to initiate synthesis and/or a regeneration of collagen fibers in a collagen-rich penile connective tissue and/or to increase oxygenation of endothelial cells, initiate angiogenesis and neovascularization in a vascular penile tissue. Additionally, electrical penile stimulation is disclosed, possibly applicable in conjuncture with the erectile dysfunction treatment.
Abstract: A dual microphone signal processing arrangement for reducing reverberation is described. Time domain microphone signals are developed from a pair of sensing microphones. These are converted to the time-frequency domain to produce complex value spectra signals. A binary gain function applies frequency-specific energy ratios between the spectra signals to produce transformed spectra signals. A sigmoid gain function based on an inter-microphone coherence value between the transformed spectra signals is applied to the transformed spectra signals to produce coherence adapted spectra signals. And an inverse time-frequency transformation is applied to the coherence adjusted spectra signals to produce time-domain reverberation-compensated microphone signals with reduced reverberation components.
Abstract: Provided herein are cyclic plasmenylethanolamines and plasmalogen precursors of formula A, wherein R1 and R2 are each, independently, a saturated, unsaturated, or polyunsaturated hydrocarbon group. Methods and uses thereof in the treatment of plasmalogen deficiency are also described. Cyclic plasmenylethanolamines described herein may act as plasmalogen precursors which, following administration, may be converted to at least one plasmalogen species, thereby elevating the plasmalogen level in a subject.
