Abstract: Technologies are generally described for a media service platform to stream broadcast media. A broadcaster may select media, such as audio and video recordings, to be included in a media broadcast. The media broadcast may be streamed to one or more subscribing users through one or more client devices over a network employing the media service platform. The subscribing users may be able to provide input and suggestions related to the streamed media through a broadcast page displayed on a user interface of the client devices. Additionally, the subscribing users may interact with each other and the broadcaster employing a real time discussion pane on the broadcast page. In some examples, the broadcaster may insert commentary and recordings concurrently with the streamed media broadcast. In other examples, the media broadcast may be saved and played again at a later time in part or in full.

Abstract: A system and method for providing a voice communication service between a first user and a second user after the first user and the second user are communicating via a non-voice communication service is described. The non-voice communication service may be processed through a server in communication with the first and second users. The non-voice communication service is monitored for a voice service request, and upon receipt of the voice service request, establishment of a voice communication service is initiated between the first and second users through the server. The first and second users may be anonymous to each other over the non-voice communication service and the voice communication service.

In one aspect of the present invention, talent's or bands' songs are made available to critics such as members of the public via mediums such as the Internet, radio, and television. Such individuals provide feedback during successive phases of the talent identification process, and talents and/or bands with the greatest public appeal advance to the final stages of the process. Ultimately, the talent or band receiving the most favorable feedback is promoted or awarded with, for example, a record deal. Throughout the process, revenue is generated via a variety of methods including voting/critiquing fees, advertising, sale of promotional items, and the like. In some aspects of the present invention, at least a portion of such revenue is donated to charity.

Abstract: An insulated glazing unit includes a spacer defining a framed area, first and second glazing panes attached to the spacer, a pane conductive layer on an inner surface of the first glazing pane, and a dielectric layer disposed on the pane conductive layer. A shade for use with the insulated glazing unit is affixed to the first glazing pane. The shade includes one or more layers selected from a resilient layer, a substantially transparent shade conductive layer, and an opaque shade conductive layer. When an electric drive is applied between the pane conductive layer and the shade conductive layer, a potential difference between the pane conductive layer and the shade conductive layer causes the shade to extend from a retracted configuration to an extended configuration. The shade can further include at least one ink coating layer including pigments that selectively reflect or absorb certain visible colors and infrared.

Abstract: Methods and systems for venue-oriented commerce via a mobile communication device are presented. An example system may include an access device and a communication node. The access device may be located at a commercial venue and communicatively coupled via a local area network with a mobile communication device located at the venue. The communication node may be communicatively coupled to the access device via a wide area network to provide a commercial service related to the commercial venue to a user of the mobile communication device. The access device may exchange information relating to the commercial service between the communication node and the mobile communication device.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of providing a personalized advertisement performed in a receiver which receives and provides a broadcast signal, the method including the steps of: (a) previously preparing so as to be able to provide at least a portion of the personalized advertisement without a time delay in the receiver; (b) receiving a synchronization signal; and (c) providing the individualized advertisement based on the synchronization signal. According to the present invention, the personalized advertisement can be provided without a time delay based on the synchronization signal in the receiver which receives and provides a broadcast signal.

Abstract: A system for real time distribution of data and media is disclosed. The system may include a processor that executes instructions to authenticate an employee into an application based on login information received for the employee. The processor may enable the employee to access the application if the employee is authenticated. Once the employee is logged in, the processor may receive media content and information associated with a customer and may transmit the media content and the information to a device of a manager for approval. After the media content and the information are transmitting to the device of the manager, the processor may receive the approval of the media content and the information from the device of the manager. The processor may then proceed to interrupt currently displayed media content on a display device to display video content including the media content and the information associated with the customer.

Abstract: Systems and methods for conducting one or more surveys are provided herein. In certain embodiments, one or more participants may be identified to take part in a survey. Each of the participants may be associated with a respective user computing device. The user computing devices may present each of the participants with content to rate and/or review. In this manner, each of the participants may provide a review and/or rating of the content via the user computing devices. Further, based at least in part on the review and/or rating of the content, a survey profile of the content may be determined.
