    Abstract: A neutron capture therapy system capable of eliminating amyloid ?-protein includes a neutron capture therapy device and a compound capable of specifically binding to the amyloid ?-protein having a nuclide with a large thermal neutron capture cross section. The neutron capture therapy device includes a neutron source, a beam shaping assembly and a collimator, the neutrons released by the neutron source pass through the beam shaping assembly and are slowed into a neutron beam within a certain energy range. The neutron beam irradiates the compound, and the energy generated by the reaction thereof can destroy the structure of the amyloid ?-protein. The neutron capture therapy system can specifically eliminate the amyloid ?-protein, and reduce the damage to the tissues surrounding the amyloid ?-protein.

    Abstract: A thrombus filter has a sheath, a thrombus intercepting net having an intercepting port, and an overfill prevention umbrella being a meshed structure that always surrounds the entire thrombus intercepting net. The overfill prevention umbrella has an umbrella stand and an umbrella surface, and is self-biased such that, at body temperature, the umbrella surface is configured to always converge towards the center of the intercepting port. The thrombus filter assumes a first position when the thrombus intercepting net is released from the sheath, where the distal opening of the overfill prevention umbrella is pushed open by the intercepting port. The thrombus filter assumes a second position when the thrombus intercepting net is retrieved into the sheath, where the umbrella surface converges towards the center of the intercepting port, and the open end of the umbrella surface is constricted to prevent the thrombus from escaping.

Some embodiments provide a method of making a degradable bioprosthesis involving controlling crosslinking to afford a degradable bioprosthesis that is partially crosslinked. By controlling the ratio of amine-based to ester-based crosslinks, by controlling the level of crosslinking, or by controlling both of these features, degradable bioprostheses with tailored degradation rates can be synthesized. Some embodiments of degradable bioprostheses have degradation rates that are tailored to allow their use in particular medical applications.
