Abstract: A device for the flame treatment of a work-piece, includes upper and lower preheating blocks disposed to define a flame-oxygen duct, holding means operable for holding the blocks and including a gas distribution system communicating with said duct, and a separate nozzle communicating with the interior of the duct and operable for supplying oxygen to the duct.
Abstract: The device for introducing a gas into a liquid by supplying gas to a gas introducing means located on the bottom of a tank in which the liquid is being held, and collecting the gas above the liquid after it passes through the liquid. A closure for the tank acts to collect the gaseous substances which pass upwardly out of the liquid by adjusting the volume of enclosed space above the liquid level. A means is also provided for removing at least some of the gaseous substances which have accumulated in the enclosed space above the liquid and reintroducing them into the supply being introduced into the liquid at the bottom of the tank.
Abstract: A cutting torch machine has at least one vertical support displaceably arranged on a transverse track and carries a multiple-torch aggregate whose torches can be adjusted relative to each other. The support is rotatable about its vertical axis and two horizontal shifting devices are provided at its lower end diametrically opposite each other. Each shifting device has an adjusting device consisting of a segment and a drive for moving the segment to control the angular orientation of its cutting torch.
Abstract: An arrangement for cutting workpieces with a scanning device having a signalling photoresistor which detects markings, with an attached control device which contains a first timing element to which a switch for reducing the rate of speed is connected includes an OR-element connected between the first timing element and the switch with a further timing element connected by means of an AND-element to the input and output of the timing element with the input of the further timing element being connected to the output of the AND-element and the output of the further timing element being operationally connected to the input of the OR-element.

Abstract: Welding arc stabilizing and igniting is effected with at least one pulse-forming condenser switched by spark gap or semiconductor switch to deliver a sharp discharge pulse through the winding of a pulse transformer, the magnetic energy thus built up in the transformer being then dissipated by a unidirectional diode bypass of the winding through the switch. The pulses are delivered by the transformer to the welding electrodes, and can be combined with pulses of lower voltage and longer duration by an appropriate series condenser-resistor combination in the transformer output. The pulse-forming condenser can be charged by simple resistor connection to the input of a step-down welding current transformer, or by transformer coupling to any source of AC welding current.
Abstract: A device for linearly measuring a hot work piece includes a measuring roller for contacting the underside of the work piece with the roller mounted on a shaft in a tilting arrangement. A water supply is provided on the shaft communicating with a channel which extends into the roller and with the roller being open on at least one side thereof.
Abstract: Burrs are removed from workpieces by cold embrittlement in an axisymmetrical container having a rotatable bottom with stationary sides and with the liquefied gas being supplied along the axis of rotation of the bottom. The rotational axis is inclined 5.degree. to 25.degree. with respect to the vertical and the bottom wall is conical with a cone angle of 130.degree.-170.degree..
