  • Patent number: 6413572
Abstract: The present process relates to forming of precooked egg patties for future heating within a microwave oven for consumption as a portion of a food article. The process involves the initial step of acquisition of liquid whole eggs, liquid egg whites and/or liquid egg yolks mixed with leavening ingredients (a mix of an acid and a base) to create an egg patty with improved texture and appearance for use within a breakfast sandwich following initial cooking. The following ingredients may be added to further improve the product: non-fat dry milk, modified food starch, gums, and emulsifiers. The process in summary involves adding to liquid eggs leavening ingredients or agents and then cooking of the mixed eggs and leavening ingredients prior to the dissipation of the leavening ingredients to form an egg patty having improved appearance and a light and airy texture.

  • Patent number: 6354034
Abstract: A quick-detachable sling swivel comprises a body and a shift/swing gate mounted on the body through an elongated plunger. The gate, through manipulation of the plunger, is adjustable between open and closed positions relative to the body to enable mounting, demounting and securing of the swivel relative to an external structure. The swivel has a locking mechanism for restricting movement of the plunger to prevent the gate from opening. The body and the loop are integrally formed of metal. The loop has a pair of opposed substantially parallel side members. The gate may include a wedge protruding toward the tang, the wedge having an upper surface that, in the closed position, opposes a flat lower surface of the body. The swivel is capable of withstanding at least 500 lbs. of pull force.

  • Patent number: 6348072
Abstract: An arrangement for transporting yarn through a heat setting chamber has a rotatably driven central mast which is equipped with transport belts arranged around the mast in the form of a polygon in cross section. At least one yarn is wound around the transport belts in loops by means of a winding flyer. At the latest when arriving at the heat setting chamber, the loops should have a larger circumference than the polygon formed by the transport belts for the purpose of forming a shrinkage reserve. This is achieved in that auxiliary belts, ending upstream of the heat setting chamber, are arranged in the area of the winding flyer, the speed of which auxiliary belts corresponds to the speed of the transport belts and which enlarge the polygon to the amount of the desired shrinkage reserve.

  • Publication number: 20010041902
Abstract: Anastomotic methods and devices for placing a target vessel in fluid communication with a target vessel. A conduit includes an attachment portion adapted to be secured to a target vessel in fluid communication with the lumen of the vessel. The target vessel wall is sandwiched between first and second components of the attachment portion to provide both a secure and sealed connection. One component is placed in the vessel lumen against the interior surface of the wall and has an outlet that directs blood into the target vessel. This component is elongated, e.g., elliptical or rectangular, such that a minimum amount of material is present at the outlet. This results in the outlet having a diameter that substantially maintains much of the cross-sectional area of the native target vessel.

  • Publication number: 20010010014
Abstract: The present invention is directed to an expandable stent which is relatively flexible along its longitudinal axis to facilitate delivery through tortuous body lumens, but which is stiff and stable enough radially in an expanded condition to maintain the patency of a body lumen such as an artery when implanted therein. The struts of the present invention have a specific trapezoidal, triangular or a reduced radii configuration projecting radially outward that functions to reduce the forces necessary to penetrate the vessel wall thereby minimizing trauma or damage imparted to the wall during deployment. In addition, this design feature of the present invention helps secure the expanded stent so that it does not move once it is implanted and furthermore, minimizes projections into the blood stream.
