    Abstract: A multi-layer pipe has an innermost layer formed of a butene polymer composition. At least one other layer is formed of a polyolefin resin composition comprising (A) 95-5 parts by weight of a polyolefin resin, (B) 5-95 parts by weight of a filler, and (C) 0.1-10 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of components (A) and (B) combined of a modified polyolefin resin. This multi-layer pipe undergoes minimal elongation by heat so that it is free from troubles by thermal deformation even when high temperature fluid is passed therethrough, has high rigidity, and is thus suitable as plumbing for cold and hot water.

    Abstract: An impact resistant vehicle door latch device comprises a locking mechanism provided on a metal back plate fixed to a latch body. The locking mechanism has an inner locking lever which has a first base portion rotatably mounted to the back plate by a metal supporting shaft and a first tip portion extending toward an interior side of a door for being connected to an inside lock button, and an outer locking lever which has a second base portion rotatably mounted to the back plate by the supporting shaft and a second tip portion extending toward an exterior side of the door for being connected to a key cylinder. The supporting shaft has a large-diameter cylindrical part which supports the inner and outer locking levers, and a substantially annular flange which is integrally formed with the cylindrical part and has a plane surface perpendicular to an axis of the supporting shaft. The annular flange is located between the first base portion and second base portion.

    Abstract: Biaxially oriented films from high molecular weight polyethylene are characterized by a gas permeable structure formed from random-arranged microfibrils. The films have coefficients of static friction and kinetic friction of not more than 1.0. The biaxially oriented films are further characterized by service smoothness as well as tensile (tangent) modulus and tensile strength. The films may be used for lamination, filter, or for packaging for moisture absorbers. The biaxially oriented films may be obtained by extracting a hydrocarbon plasticizer from a sheet formed from the high molecular weight polyethylene and a hydrocarbon plasticizer, stretching the resulting sheet to obtain an oriented film having a specific surface area of at least 70 m.sup.2 /g and a fibril structure, and heating the oriented film under a standard length constraint to reduce the oriented film in specific area by at least 20 m.sup.2 /g.

The process comprises forming a mixture of plural coals of different caking properties and a binder, said mixture containing said coal of higher caking property in an amount of 10-50 wt. %, subjecting the thus-formed mixture to oxidization treatment in an atmosphere having an oxygen concentration of 1-18 vol. % and a temperature of 50.degree.-250.degree. C., subjecting the thus-treated mixture to carbonization treatment under conditions of an oxygen concentration not higher than 8 vol. %, a heating efficiency of 10.degree.-50.degree. C./min and a final temperature 600.degree.-900.degree. C., and then subjecting again the thus-carbonized mixture to oxidation treatment at an oxygen concentration of 3-18 vol. % and a temperature of 200.degree.-600.degree. C.

    Abstract: A novel unsaturated copolymer of ethylene comprises a random copolymer of (i) ethylene, (ii) an .alpha.-olefin of 3 to 20 carbon atoms and (iii) at least one straight chain or branched chain nonconjugated triene or tetraene having one vinyl group in the molecule, which contains 30-92% by mol of ethylene units (i), 6-70% by mol of .alpha.-olefin units (ii) and 0.1-30% by mol of triene or tetraene units (iii), and which has a molar ratio of ethylene units (i) to .alpha.-olefin units (ii) of 40/60 to 92/8 (ethylene units (i)/.alpha.-olefin units (ii)) and an intrinsic viscosity (.eta.), measured in Decalin at 135.degree. C., of 0.05 to 10 dl/g. This novel unsaturated copolymer of ethylene is excellent in weathering resistance, heat resistance and ozone resistance and has a high vulcanizing rate.

    Abstract: A door locking device with an antitheft mechanism comprises a main locking lever connected to a key cylinder and, for changing over the locking device to a locking state or to an unlocking state, a sub locking lever connected to an inside lock button of the door, a connector provided between the locking levers, always linked with the main locking lever and changed over to a normal position where it is linked with the sub locking lever and to an antitheft position where it is not linked therewith, an output member which is turned by the motor and is linked with the main locking lever, and a guide wall provided in the vicinity of the connector. The guide wall is engageable with the connector as the connector is displaced by unlocking rotation of the main locking lever in order to displace the connector from the antitheft position to the normal position.
