    Abstract: Propylene oxide is added to an active hydrogen compound in the presence of an alkali metal hydroxide catalyst in an amount of from 0.05 to 0.5 mole per mole of the active hydrogen compound at a reaction temperature of from 60 to 98.degree. C. at a reaction pressure less than or equal to 4 kg/cm.sup.2 to prepare a polyoxyalkylene polyol which has a hydroxyl value of from 10 to 35 mg KOH/g, a monool content less than or equal to 15 mol %, a Head-to-Tail bond selectivity greater than or equal to 96 percent, and low viscosity. A polymer polyol is prepared by polymerizing an ethylenically unsaturated monomer in the polyoxyalkylene polyol. A flexible polyurethane foam is prepared by reacting the polyoxyalkylene polyol or the polymer polyol with an organic polyisocyanate compound in the presence of a foaming agent, a catalyst, a surfactant, a crosslinking agent and other additives.

    Abstract: A process for producing spherical metal particles comprises the step of spraying a molten metal in a chamber filled with a refrigerant gas through a centrifugal atomizer, wherein the refrigerant gas is a composition comprising nitrogen and oxygen gases or nitrogen gas and air and the concentration of the oxygen ranges from 3 to 600 ppm on the basis of the weight of the composition. The production process of the present invention permits mass-production of fluent, spherical metal particles having a smooth surface, in low cost and excellent in dispersibility in a dispersing medium, which is required when the particles are used as a component for pastes or paint and varnishes, while using a small-sized chamber.

    Abstract: A thermal resistant resin composition comprising 100 parts by weight of polyester (A) having 25-75% by weight of a lactic acid component consisting of 25-75% by weight of a lactic acid-based polymer (a1) and 25-75% by weight of other aliphatic polyester (a2) having a melting point of 100-250.degree. C., and 0.1-70 parts by weight of a crystalline inorganic filler (B) containing 10% by weight or more of SiO.sub.2. The thermal resistant resin composition of the invention performs following function:1) injection molding can be carried out at a mold temperature of Tg or less or around room temperature with a short molding-cycle,2) quick crystallization velocity and satisfactory crystallinity can be attained in the molding step, and3) the molded articles have, as a result, excellent thermal resistance and generate properties of low deterioration of a high polymer component and slow embrittlement in use.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a preparation process of aliphatic polyester, comprising using an ion exchange resin as a drying agent and after the dehydration polycondensation reaction, regenerating and drying the used ion exchange resin and repeatedly using said ion exchange resin in the next dehydration polycondensation reaction, in a process for preparing aliphatic polyester from one or more aliphatic compound (A) by heating in an organic solvent in the presence of a catalyst, distilling a generated water containing organic solvent out of the reaction system, treating the distilled organic solvent with a drying agent, and returning the treated solvent to the reaction system to progress a dehydration polycondensation reaction. The process of the invention enables one to steadily and efficiently prepare in industry an aliphatic polyester having an excellent color tone, high molecular weight and high quality.

The wire drum has a cylindrical shape having a substantially closed end and an opposite open end, and an inner space formed inside thereof. The clutch mechanism is displaced into the first coupling state when the motor rotates in a given direction and displaced into the second coupling state when the motor rotates in a direction opposite to the given direction.

    Abstract: A terpolymer rubber prepared from ethylene, .alpha.-olefin having 3 to 20 carbon atoms and branched chain polyene of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 represents C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkyl, and R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 represent hydrogen atom or C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkyl, such as, for example, 6,7-dimethyl-4-ethylidene-1,6-octadiene, 6,7-dimethyl-4-ethylidene-1,6-nonadiene, and 9-methyl-4-ethylidene-1,8-decadiene; when added to a rubber (diene rubber, nitrile rubber or random copolymer rubber from ethylene, C.sub.3 -C.sub.20 .alpha.-olefin, and optionally a nonconjugated diene) provides curable rubber compositions having rapid vulcanization rates, for example, as lows as about 7 to 10 seconds. The diene rubber compositions also have excellent resistances to weather,ozone and heat aging while maintaining excellent mechanical strength characteristics. The nitrile rubber compositions also have excellent oil resistance.
